Jacoby jones released

JACOBY Jones RELEASED

Happy new year LOL

So they waited until after the holidays to can him so he could put some presents under the tree. Our team is all class.

Tomlin dropping the hammer and bringing hell. Tomlin is excited to drop 40 on the Browns and get too the cleaning house after Jets whoop the Bills. First thing, release Boykin. That guy has gave Tomlin headaches all year with his ability to cover.

Now if they'd just release Thomas, Jarvis Jones, and Blake.

Ross Ventrone signed

seems as though it was a few weeks to late

I wonder who will get the hat?? I think he has been inactive last couple weeks. If not, who will get the hat??

Salute the nation

why does every thread have to turn to Tomlin bashing...there are plenty of coaching threads to post this **** in

Can he return kicks any better than Jones?

sure that wouldn't take much

:topsy_turvy:

but I am sure Brown and Wheaton will still get looks

with Ross on STs if he gets a hat

I mean,I must admit. I was advocating signing him as a free agent before the season began. I was thinking anything but the the Archer. Boy was I wrong

Ain't no fun til your best player on O gets a 45-50 week injury returning punts vs. a scrub team in a game so desperately needed.

And the reason every thread turns into a bash Tomlin thread is because he is so blind he first cuts a 3rd rounder to go out and get an OBVIOUS downgrade, then stubbornly keeps the POS trying to polish up his turd and present it to us. If this is how the HC handles personnel why even employ the 52nd or 53rd man on the roster? OBVIOUSLY there are just no other NFL caliber players out there.

Good riddance Jones. Never wanted his lack of services in the first place and kept far too long. Makes me want to go buy a Ventrone jersey.

We've been asking for a decent KR for awhile now. They bring someone in and it didn't work. It happens. I thought the change of scenery would help Jones, but he has lost it. You can't blame the coaches or Colbert for trying to upgrade the position.

No one faults them for trying, we fault them for who they tried it with. It was apparent to EVERYONE here in his first game with us that Jacoby was terrible, how in the world did professional talent evaluators not see that during his workout? And we fault them for continually trotting him out there, despite his obvious struggles, waiting for him to cost us a game. We fault MT for watching him fumble the first punt of the last game he started and then trotting him back out there for the second punt of the game, which he promptly muffed (another terrible coaching decision). And we fault them for not cutting him immediately after that game, when it was apparent that he would never be used again. All of which are valid criticisms of the way Tomlin and Colbert handled the Jacoby Jones situation.

His workout and practice are different from an actual game. With whom is out there at the time, they jumped on JJ when he was released. They saw him first hand of what he did to our special teams. Granted, it was a few years ago, but I'm surprised his "skills" diminished as fast as they have. I agree that our coaches are bull-headed about sticking with their decisions. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Dri was a bust. They hung onto too long. Jacoby was a bust, they held onto him too long and there are others currently on the team that fit that mold, as well. They deserve the criticism they get, but they can't always hit homeruns.

See it doesn't end with one player ether.

shamarko
jarvis
blake

it is obvious these three have no business starting yet all three started and two still see a significant amount of playing time

we spin in many threads between the players and coaches fault

and some valid points are made for both sides

but we in the end know it is the head coach that continually doesn't make good adjustments, or simply sits on his hands too long before making them

two out of the three listed I would have already cut.

and Jarvis would see only garbage time reps.......

with Boykin and Coc you took chances but why stop there ?

when Shamarko was a never start and Blake started sucking wind with coverage and tackling it was obvious they were to little use

I would have brought two other players in sometime mid-season or even earlier to replace them.
