For those on the fence with Tomlin.

Suppose the Buffalo Bills defeat the New York Jets, and the Steelers lose to a very bad Cleveland team with nothing to play for.

Now we are out of the playoffs with back to back losses to very bad teams playing their 3rd and 2nd QB.

Would such a circumstance change your view to fire Tomlin?

I ask because we all know the team is too talented to finish below 7-9 in any year with Ben and the offense.

Why even bother with this? Didn't think there are currently enough Tomlin threads?

And this couldn't have went into the other 32 Tomlin threads

It's a hypothetical question. And a new and valid one at that. Blind Patriotism to any one man should never trump objective reasoning. Many fans are tired of no playoff wins and losing to inferior teams on an annual basis.

A loss to the Browns and I do think Art Rooney just might see the light

It is stupid because what does it matter if anyone has blind loyalty or not? What control do we have? I can see the light until the cows come home and have no modem of control to changer anything.

I hate the argument "When will you guys wake up and see..." If everyone on here does, what ****** difference does it make?

I don't thing that they'll ever fire the guy.
No matter what. He's here until he decides that he's had enough, or his contact runs out and is not renewed

Exactly. If you like him, you'll continue to do so. If not, then you'll continue to do so. Our message board means a big barrel of **** all to those who make the decisions

As for posters, everyone has their boiling point where they change perspective. Owners are the same way. Fan support to owners does matter and right that is at a low point.

Wouldn't you love to hear the transcript of what Tomlin says into the headset each game? I never see his mouth moving when the camera pans to him.

He certainly never has to cover his mouth when reading from a laminated play sheet or discussing strategy like some of these other guys. A good head coach takes parts of the game and adds to it. I'm still trying to figure out what Tomlin adds to the team.

There is a groundswell against the OWNER of the San Francisco 49ers. Not the coach. The owner. People are planning boycotts and small demonstrations. I look at the TV and though those tickets might be sold and money in the pockets still in the Rooneys those sure as hell aren't sell outs. Lots of yellow seats sitting empty all game. I think this will create a lot of fan dissatisfaction with the team. You don't have to become the Browns or the Raiders, but you don't want to be the Bengals either.

They just extended Tomlin's contract. Prior to the extension, I wanted them to let him play this year out and then decide based on this years performance.

Honestly, if we go another season without a playoff berth determined earlier than the last week of the season or don't win a playoff game, I really don't think the rooney's have a choice but to explore other options. This is the longest stretch without a playoff win since buddy ******* Parker was the coach, pre-Chuck Noll. This is the ******* Pittsburgh Steelers. We expect playoff runs and Super Bowls not .500 seasons. If there's another lackluster season and the Rooney's don't do a damn thing, then they deserve to be questioned at every instance.

I really do not understand the yellow seats with the cost of these tickets. I guess for some anger has turned into apathy. When the paying customers don't care, the owner has a problem. Not only is is bad to look at on TV, it's bad for business....parking, merchandise sales, food and drink sales, etc...

One of my first jobs when I was young I would always walk around with papers in my hand, that way, even if I was screwing around, I had papers, I looked busy.

So if Tomlin decides to cover his mouth and talk into his headset, ****, he could be quoting verse as long as it looks good?

It's a question that's already been made as a statement in another Tomin hate thread.
