The aftermath: what the talking heads are saying.

"...he knew Harbaugh was out coaching Tomlin..."

How exactly do you know this was running thru Ben's mind escapes me. Please share with us, oh enlightened one???

Imagine Belicheck going for it on 4th and 3 in the first quarter and Trying to run it up the middle. While he is in field goal range.

Yeah me neither.

It was 4th and 1. Tomlin had the choice of kicking a 42 yard field goal or go for the first down with Williams who had 3 rushes for 46 yards at that point. I had no problem going for it, but I would have liked to see a different play call instead. Something that would spread them out.

Dude,..........I wanted to rip you a new one by reminding you of the "CHEATING" those asshats have been doing. So they aren't really a relyable source to compare against. I get your drift of what you are saying, but you could have used a more honest team, in comparison.

Salute the nation

Trust me... I f'ing LOATHE the damned Cheatriots, and hate having to credit them for anything.

That being said... I can hate them for being shady, cheating ********, but respect where the motivation to do so comes from. While I certainly wouldn't want a bunch of asshats that thumb their noses at the rules, I do wish we had a coaching staff with the creativity to push boundaries and at least look like they are coming up with something new, tailored to their specific opponent, week after week.

The Cheats are the desire to win pushed to the dark side. But they game plan. It always seems like our coaching staff simply believes that we can just come out and do the same thing, week after week, and never adjust anything for anyone. Can't we have something somewhere in the middle?

But I do agree... typing that last post about the Pats made me throw up in my mouth. Ugh.

Imagine Green Bay fans getting mad at McCarthy because Aaron Rodgers looked uninspired....

Imagine Patriot fans whining because Belichick failed to "coach up" Brady during a game...

I'm sure it happens.

It happens way less with Packer and Cheatriot fans because their teams have way better coaches than ours does.

You can kiss my *** , you racist crying dumbass.

why is he racist?

when pegging someone yinz should make damn sure you are correct.... calling someone a racist is a little over the top.....unless yinz sure that person is a racist

being on a message board, I think it would be hard to judge such a claim...

I don't think Bermudasteel is a racist. He is very quick to put any criticism of Mr Tomlin into the racism category though.

Yeah me neither.

Imagine Tomlin winning the coin toss in over time and deciding to kick off. ........This board would crashed. That said Tomlin has made numerous ,mistakes during his tenure here. Being aggressive with this offense early in the game is not one of them in my opinion. The play call in that situation was the issue. The formation to be exact.

I suggest you watch the game instead of my posts, soggy pants.

It was 4th and 1...

Color you stupid.

To be honest...more like 4th and inches. Just saying :)

While all of the criticism isn't racism to think none of it isn't is just crazy. Tomlin deserves all the criticism he gets but not because of his color.

Imagine either of those teams losing more often than not to sub .500 teams, even when the playoffs are on the line. You can ONLY imagine that, however it IS our reality.

It's not a surprise that fans are trying to figure it out and speculate.

A LOT of the defense of Tomlin is because of his race. In today's PC world, many cannot differentiate being critical of a black person from racism.

sorry 4th and 1. The dumb **** should have taken the points.

The Rats stacked the box and blew up the gaps. I thought for sure Ben would audible out of a run for a quick TE out or something. D Williams was set deep too like he was going to block. When Ben handed off we all yelled: "NOOOOO"
****

Imagine a coach who is one more infraction away from receiving a lifetime ban from the NFL...

Sorry man but that's Bravo Sierra. Unless somebody flat says they don't like Tomlin because he is black you can't say it's racism that causes the criticism. Mr Tomlin has more than earned everything we faulted him for. I personally have compared him to a white coach with similar issues (John Gruden) and suggested that we try to lure Tony Dungy out of retirement. I also pointed out Luvie Smith who coached Chicago to the Super Bowl with a big handful of nothing at QB as another option over Mr Tomlin when he came available. Notice Tampa is improving under Coach Smith while our Steelers remain stagnant under Mr Tomlin.

And of course the opposite isn't true. A LOT of the criticism of Tomin is because of his race. Being critical is one thing questioning someone's intelligence at every turn is another. "The dumb **** should have taken the points"

Sooooo.....this is what learned this weekend. My beloved Steelers playoff hopes are in the hands of the Rex "let me lick your toes" Ryan and T-rod led Buffalo Betty's. According to the "talking heads" we're ******. However we got here, we are here and at the late season playing capacity of the team from Canada.

My point exactly! There is nothing racist about calling someone a dumb ****. You are projecting racism (which in itself is racist). It's not like they called him a dumb n*gger or coon or monkey. It's not like they say he is incapable of doing a white man's job.

Even if the criticism is unfair, it doesn't mean it's racially motivated.

Sorry DBS - I can stop that. Most of us can see the blatant disapproval of the HC because of his "jive talk" and "swag"---I usually make an attempt at "poking those bears" when the "Fire Tomlin for____" comes up.

As far as B&GB goes, I generally ignore him - but, apparently, I'm his internet hero...

So sure calling someone a dumb *** who if you took the time to read up on is far from dumb is OK. When we had a another coach from 92 to 05 was never referred to in this way. Sure it's just me.

IIRC someone here called him a jive-talking fool...
