Ben played like total ****, AB has now ****** up a TD catch in both games this year. Bryant dropped some easy passes,Game plan was horrible, and the defense just let a guy that has only been on the team for 12 days put up almost 300 yards. Last week Ben torches the best defense in the NFL, AB caught everything that was inside the white lines, and the defense threw a second half shut out.

This team has no identity, they come out and beat teams they could easily lose to, then they get beat by a team that they are almost double digit favorites. One assessment I agree with is Ben looked defeated way before this game was over. He never got into any kind of rhythm, was it because we came out and ran the ball so much to start or have the Ravens just mind ****** this team the last few years?

The answer in NO.

**** the Ravens.

I think the team thought they had a easy victory....they played a physical battle the week prior and were cocky. They didnt take this game seriously.

9 outta 10 times they would smoke the rats right now....they had no urgency sunday from coaches to players.

Absolutely. They have owned the Steelers over the past four years or so and have completely taken them out of their comfort zone in two of the past three outings.

The bolded part is the part that keeps sticking in my mind. What was wrong with him? He just acted like he couldn't care less. Very aloof, almost bored. I don't understand how he can go from the fired up guy who played so well last week to ... this.

Yep. I could be wrong but it seemed as if his play started to get a little sloppy the second half of the Denver game. Maybe his brain got dinged again and he kept it under the radar. Who knows there could be something going on in the family front that has him distracted. Just flat out simply had a bad day to not be close to 100%

The first match up I think we win hands down if Ben was playing. **** #Jonessucksagain for that matter.

remember how great this was?

Something is going on for sure....is it 8 out of the last 11 lost?
Was at Baltimore on Sunday and was very obvious Ben was hurt, dejected, or drunk....

I don't know what you're basing that on. I really don't.

For one they are better coached. Second they are more physical then us now.

We always were the standard ( or have been for a long time ) of who to beat in the north. They built their team to compete against us. Smashmouth, run heavy, defense, low scoring.

Now we are a more finesse team or pass heavy we have lost some of that toughness we used to carry. Remember the season we beat them 3 times and in afccg? We were tougher than they were, we were nasty.

Well they have somewhat stuck to that formula and now when we allow them ( Like sunday & first half of last years second game ) to drag us into street fight we get beat. They are the more physical team.

They game planned ( unlike us ) to get us out of our game and into theirs. Of course they were gonna let us run first and not go over the top and get up 14 points. Get a lead and they would never catch up.

Instead they watched film of what to do against our pathetic defense. Where the holes in the zones were, and they executed their plan to perfection. They slowed down the game. Got us into their style and with them chewing up clock, and our inability to get of the field on 3rd down it took our offense ( which is our strength ) right out of the first half.

Ben as usual gets impatient and wants to get it back right away and boom. Starts forcing throws and never really got on track or in any kind of rhythm.

They usually are the more prepared team. The more fired up and motivated team, and they game plannned & executed this Sunday. We didn't adjust quick enough ( like usual ) and got a beating.

Its really I think that simple.

Tomlin & staff are the slowest adjusting coaches I may have ever seen. They wanted to establish the run Sunday because it was non exsistant last week against Denver. So lets get it going into the playoffs.

This played right into Ravens plan. Slow it down.

Ben is a streaky guy and if its me I get him 4 or 5 quick short easy throws early and let him get going and get comfortable. He is your biggest star & the focal point of the offense. The run will be there later.

Put up a few quick scores on Bmore and it would have been game over early. This is the way to win with a weak defense. ( see patriots a few years back when they had the 32nd rank D )

All they needed was Mallet to be quick, decisive, and accurate and this defense will fold like a tent. Then hit them with the run and hurry up and watch it really fall apart.

QB's like Alex Smith, Brady, etc. that are smart, accurate and patient feast on defenses like ours. Especially with todays rules.

But for some reason we have taken on this identity of show up late for the party and all is good.

They dig themselves a hole in the beginning of the season every year now to where they need to win out to get in.

Pre season is tossed aside like it means nothing to them. Sure if you have a veteran team all returning, but when you have 9 new starters on defense and you don't give them any reps in preseason together don't be surprised if it takes them till week 5 to even come together.

The have a very non schelant attitude of we are the Steelers and then they get punched in the mouth in big games, and big moments. I don't know if that's Bens attitude or Tomlins or both, but damn this is a habit.

There was a time when I would bet my life on Ben to win no matter what. He had a fire and a will to win. I haven't seen that guy in a long time. He has never been accused of being a workaholic or a film room junkie. Its like he is ok with losing, and they all have this ( roll out the ball and see what happens attitude )

Tomlin on arrival seemed to be a tough nose military style type guy who I think was in a room full of accomplished veterans, and now they are all gone and its his team completely. He seems to lack the fortitude to break the cycles of repeating the same crap year after year.

I don't know but just my 2 cents.

Great post. With respect to Ben and his fire to win. I have seen it a few times this year but not consistently enough. Definitely not last weekend when their backs were to the wall. That basically goes for the entire team though. In my opinion the only one who still has that fire left is Harrison but he is simply getting worn out. Ben might be too.

They've gotten inside our kitchen.
