To all the Tomin haters

No accountability for Ben? Did Tomlin tell him to make those atrocious passes yesterday?

did Tomlin and Haley give him a gameplan that did not force him into those throws? Listen I hear you all athletes have up and down days..Ben had a downer yesterday..but it is certainly not all on Ben...and guess what if you do a crappy job providing talent to a team and try and put it all on your QB to win...bad things will happen

Franchise QB has to be the best QB on the field every time he steps on the field unless facing another Franchise QB. Then it's a toss up. Usually whatever QB plays better wins. See Peyton vs Brady. How many times has Ben been outplayed by other QBs no one even remotely calls Franchise QBs. Ryan Mallet out played Ben all day Sunday. Even on his inaccurate passes they were good decisions(passes to his checkdowns) just inaccurate. He was the QB making the big time throws. Like Blitz keeps pointing out check Ben's stats in these losses to inferior teams. It's not like he lit up the scoreboard and stats sheets in those games.

Ben seems like the type of QB that needs to establish a rhythm early to have success, and Tomlin and and Haley did not give him an opportunity to do that against a weak pass defense. I do not think they attempted a throw more than a few yards down field the entire first quarter.

The Ravens played their safeties deep early, but so did the Bengals a couple weeks ago. The difference was that they spread them out and hit them over the middle.

I have no issue with letting Williams gash a conservative playing defense, but giving a practice squad RB the ball on consecutive plays?

Ben had people open all over the field on some of the INTs/incompletions he threw.. he's too impatient sometimes and hates throwing for a 5-8 yard gains, even on first down occasionally.

Well at least I know where some of you get your ****. They gave up almost 400 yards of offense and 35 minutes of possession to a guy off the street and a backup running back and no receivers and all the papers talk about is Roethlisberger. Wow.

Tomlin probably wouldn't have made it this long, if not for Ben.

Thank you for making my point, a coach is as good as his QB. Ben was not good yesterday.

Or is it Ben gets all credit for wins and Tomlin is the reason we lose all games?

All i hear from Tomlin is we're not worried about what they do, we're going to do what we do. Well your passing game is on a great streak, who gives a **** what Baltimore is doing, come out do what we've been doing, get the offense in
rhythm early and set the run up with the pass, if the safeties are deep, then run crossing patterns etc. Everyone played bad, but here's a few things I dont get:
the 4th and 1 fail, why no lead blocker in that situation?
After we did have success with the run game, we never used play fakes from that same formation. Why?
our base defense most of the day was 2DL, 4LB's, 5DB's, were we really afraid of Mallet? we were owned at the LOS, and we never adjusted, even when down by 3 with 6 mins left and 1 timeout, kicked the ball to baltimore, we still came out with that same 2DL **** when we knew they'd run to kill clock, they ended up jamming it down our throats for 3 first downs and killing 3+mins of clock.
Again another back up has a career day on us, because we sit back in a **** zone and try to confuse the guy, but we end up giving him all day, was the only blitz the Boykin sack?

Because we know the defense sucks. We've all known that for awhile now. They suck. All the stars are on offense. Therefore they need to carry the heavy load. No different then when we were defensive heavy and those guys held it down. It's the offense turn.

Perhaps if the gmeplan had been a little different, mixing the run with more passes from the beggining, Ben would´ve found a good rythm early on putting some points and having a lead. This would´ve minimised the risk/need of forcing passes late on, resulting in a positive outcome for the Steelers.

Ben´s play was reactionary to a questionable game plan and the stupid coaching decisions we´re all accostumed during Tomlin´s reign as a Steelers HC.

I expect any defense with all its key starters in the lineup to hold down the Ravens. Using a very different game plan in the second half of last week they were able to shut down a far better Broncos team. Why. They played aggressive. Yesterday they sat back on second and 8 and gave up five to 6 setting up the easy third and short. When they got a penalty and it was second and 20 they gave up 15. No aggressiveness what so ever. They won games by playing aggressive and creating turnovers. Tomlin ******* about the turnover battle. You have to create one to win it.

How do you know they weren't some pass plays called and Ben didn't change them to runs based off the look he was getting. I don't want to hear about running the ball as a factor when they were gashing them. Yeah let's stop cause it's working. Ben is a Franchise QB his confidence doesn't need to he built up. Funny how when the plays work it's all Ben and people automatically assume he is changing and calling everything at the line. When it doesn't it's Haley and Ben isn't getting the calls til late and that's why he had to burn time outs. I keep asking who was the Best QB on the field yesterday. Which QB made big time throws all game. Not ours.

I give you credit for showing up to defend the indefensible, while all of the other Tomlin lovers who were so active in this thread last week, are now hiding with nothing to say. But, you´re way out of base with your logic (or lack of).

You´re saying that the same Steelers D which, after half time adjustments came out to shut down one of the best offensive teams in the NFL, cannot be relied upon to shut down a team playing for which most of their star players are injured and which QB had only been on the team for 10 days? How far would you get to keep on defending this piece of sh... we have for HC?

Neither you or I know if Ben changed the plays, nor we know if the plays were executed exactly as the coaches called them. But what we both know for sure, is that one of the most important (or the most important) tasks of a coach is to put the players in a position to win. Guess who did and who didn´t yesterday?

The defense sucks yesterday was actually a good day for them compared to the defense we are used to having in Pittsburgh. They suck. Every proven play maker we have is on offense so why wouldnt I expect more from that side of the ball. Like I said when this defense was stacked with play makers we expected them to carry us and they did. Now we expect the same from the offense and the leader of the offense is Ben. The whole thing is his show. And once again who was the best QB on the field yesterday?

That's funny I saw plenty of opportunities to be made and weren't executed. Who excutes coaches or players? Once again which QB made the big time throws yesterday.

And your right neither one of us know so I can only go on what I see. Not what I'm guessing. I see inaccurate throws not taking what the defense is giving him.

What coach had his team ready to play yesterday? Which coach was outcoached yesterday? What coach had 15 players on IR and down to their 4th QB come out and win a game? Who was the better coach yesterday?

5 first rounders and a second rounder in the front seven but nothing can be expected of them. It's all Ben he is the whole thing. Your arguments are a joke.

After they beat the Broncos some of you proclaimed the best coaching job ever. So when they win it was marvelous coaching. When they lose it was Ben. And Ben was a big part if it. He would be first to the mic to say that. But once just once I'd like to see that piece of **** HC take some responsibility for the debacle in a straightforward manner.

And none of them have done anything except Heyward and Timmons. There are no established stars on that side of the ball..they are in transition. We knew that coming in to the season. Like I said it was OK before for the defense to carry this team and the offense to make timely plays. Now it's the offense turn to carry the team.

Ben and Heyward are usually the only ones that will put the blame on themselves.

Unless you're privy to play calls and have a head set how can you tell? But I can look at the game and see which QB played better

Certainly wouldn't expect the defense to carry the team. The one guy who has been **** upon for playtime got a sack and they caused an intentional grownding. To my eyes that was it for any type of real play making. Plus they gave up two or three clock choking first downs on the last important drive when it was absolutely clear the Ravens would only run.

Antdrewjosh, I'm sorry, but this is a ridiculous response. We've all been watching this sport for years, if not decades. Its not hard to be able to tell when a team looks mentally prepared, and when they dont. How you still defend Tomlin's "abilities" is mind-numbing to me
