I'm unsure of the Steelers defense for the playoffs. Rather than having false hope and beating our chest for making the playoffs. I think the Steelers can use a mid round draft pick on a much needed SS or NT
The Steelers need a dominant NT to get over this first round playoff slump. Otherwise our team will be in the same situation next season
I really fail to see how a dominant nose tackle will stop them from giving up 3 or so thousand yards across the middle.

Casey Hampton usually required two blockers in his prime which took a lot of pressure off the LB group. The current group for the Steelers now are a fast bunch. Spence and Shaziers speed with a NT that eats up two blockers, not to mention the opportunities it would allow for Heyward and Tuitt. The pressure would help out the secondary a lot more too

It would help them stop the run so they don't get gashed up the middle for 9 yards a pop. Maybe if they made a team one-dimensional, they could have better success at rushing the passer and slowing down the passing game.

Honestly, after watching this sh-t show, I don't even care all that much if they sneak into the playoffs. We will just get outcoached again. My interest for this year is as cold as a witch's tit. If we lose to Browns it won't even bother me; we get a higher draft pick.

There are problems in coverage that neither the 3 -4 nor 4 - 3 will solve right now. But the basis of the 3 - 4 is a dominate NT that frees up the MLBs to shutdown the run thus making the opposition one dimensional and allowing all sorts of blitzes coming from all directions.

It could be their last game as the San Diego Chargers. They'll be fired up, even not playing at home.

This Steeler team isn't going anywhere in the playoffs. Any QB who has been with a team more than 3 weeks will eat this defense apart. I have every expectation that Manziel will throw for 350+ yards and 3 TDs. The Brownie fans will crown him the greatest QB since Otto.
