Assuming the Steelers don't win the division and end up with the #2 seed, which is highly likely since the Bengals have the Ravens at home week 17 and the Chiefs would also have to lose a game, I'd love to see this scenario play out:

Steelers win both.
Chiefs win both.
Bengals beat Denver.
Denver beats San Diego.
Texans lose both.
Colts win both.

The last two are not as important, as I think the Steelers would crush Houston as well.

Steelers (#5) beat Colts (#4) in first round.
Denver (#6) beats KC (#3) in first round.

Steelers beat Bengals (#2) in second round.
Denver beats NE (#1) in second round.

Steelers win Denver rematch in round three.

Patriots successfully avoided. Super Bowl 50 here we come -- a rematch with Seattle, Green Bay, or Arizona. Spanking an undefeated Carolina team. Or maybe an improbable NFC East representative...OK, maybe that's dreaming a bit much.

Boom, there you have it.

Puff, puff...Bammy's sharin'

That's cute, but the biggest regular season hurdle is going to be the Bengals winning this week, which isn't much of a stretch. And the Broncos have already beaten New England and KC this year, so I'll pass on the puff, thanks.

I don't think my seething hatred of the P*ts can be dealt with in a semi-therapeutic manner unless we destroy them.

Sorry. I'm afraid I need the Steelers to crush the cheaters. Or fall trying.

This. Discard the headsets, use sign language in the locker room. Beat the cheetahs at their own game.

Getting the #5 seed would be great; rooting for the Colts instead of the Texans to win the South just seems greedy to me.

Why skip the Pats? Don't live in your fears.

F that. Unless we can roll through New England, our Championship will be missing something, IMO.

My dream scenario is beating everyone remaining, whenever, wherever. I'd love to beat the Shats in their own barn, but if they don't make it, tough ****.

Don't understand this line of thinking. The fact that the Steelers didn't have to beat New England in 2005 or 2008 doesn't lessen those Super Bowl seasons. Why would you prefer that they face a team who's beaten them 8 out of the last 11 times they've played, including an easy win earlier this year?

That's why I mentioned that I wouldn't mind if they played Houston.

All those wins seems pretty logical and might be the most realistic expectations to be honest. Seeing the way the playoffs may work out being the 5th seed diffinitly seems the way we want to go. As nice as it'd be to get the #2 seed I don't think it's THAT much needed, we're a pretty healthy team and on a roll at the moment.

I was going to pass on the puff, but Martavis and Bell stopped me in the hall and told me I better hit that ****.

I think we can beat the Pats**** but if for some reason we make it to the SB without facing them who F'k'ing cares.

I'll take it, but I'd rather they be able to say they went through New England like they went through Pittsburgh in '01 and '04.

Don't care how or who or how many by. Just win number 7. You don't get **** for style points.

Always dream of the bye... Though the ravens beating the bengals is unlikely at best... though maybe, just maybe if the Bengals do lose this game they choke in the last one... and if we embarrass the ravens they may not want to go out on that note... having said that I don't know how the chargers beat Denver, and then asking KC to lose too is a bit much... but its still in play so....

Meh New England should be avaoided cause they are known cheats who will be unscrupulous in full force and have an extra week of spying if we play them.... having said that they are a worse team now than at season's start, and very banged up, and while we still wont have Bell, we will have Bryant, and their pass d coulnt really handle DHB well in that role... so its defiantly an upgrade there... heck he dropped a clear TD in that game and should have had another big play too.. I don't think the term easily handled was accurate in that first game... it was 14-21 with 10 minutes left in the game... Brady's final Td didn't come till 9:20 in the 4th, and that was with El Misso at Kicker too....

I guess I would prefer the Broncs somehow get bumped to #5, something about going to Mile High in Round 1 gives me the creeps? The Steelers would have to win the last 2 then play the Cheefs and the Broncs play the Texans in the WC round? Steelers at Chiefs Part Deux with the Steelers in it's present form would be interesting. I don't think the Chiefs can score enough points to stay in the game. This is not the same Steelers team Landry Jones limp dicked and gift wrapped a victory for Andy Reid.
Steelers in the playoffs? They can play with anybody in the AFC and win including the Cheats who only won by 7 in the season opener and both teams are now different from that mess. I actually think the Steelers have an answer for covering Gronk and now have a Kicker that can win games! Steelers make it to the lwoB repuS? Once the NFC beats itself up it will be Carolina, Seattle or Green Bay (again). I would like to see the Steelers on the same field with Carolina. Steelers have beaten the #1 and #2 Defenses, maybe a crack at Cam Newton and the #3 Defense?
Bring it

Here's a realistic scenario putting the Steelers in the #5 position, I think.

Steelers beat the Ravens
Bengals beat the Broncos
Steelers beat the Browns
Broncos win or lose to Chargers

This puts the Broncos at 11-5 with the Steelers and I believe the Steelers get the #5 seed in that scenario.

It was also a 14-point game with 5 seconds left on the clock, which is more indicative of how the game truly played out. The Patriots are banged up a bit, but Edelman will be back for the playoffs, and unless Tomlin gets his head out of his *** and puts Boykin out there in the slot to cover him, it's going to be another long day in Foxboro. Plus they have no answer for covering Gronkowski.

I think I'd still rather see the Steelers host the Broncos at home in the AFCCG, thanks.

If the Broncos lose both, there's a good chance they'll be out the playoffs entirely.
