You know, I like that article, but if you look at the captures of the two screen plays to DHB, you can see that Ben forces the 2nd throw to Brown when he has a perfectly good screen set up to Bey for what could easily go for 4 to 6 yards. The screen is there, the blocks are there and Bey can get some good yards without Ben getting hammered and risking a throw over the middle into tight coverage.

I mean, I love Ben and I love that he makes a tough throw and gets AB some yards and all, but there's an example of an easy throw for some cheap yards.

All I want for Big Ben is that 3rd trophy, then the 4th and then a 5th. Still possible, but we need to take advantage of having him while we do because we will enter a period of unknown between him and our next franchise QB.

May Ben lead us on the Stairway to Seven.

Ben may just go down in history as the most under appreciated QB (outside of Pgh that is) and that's fine. Seeing the accolades he's getting now is nice and all but where were these guys previously? Ben is still Ben and has been all along, he just has the pieces around him now days...

I don't think there is a QB in the league that consistently throws the ball down field with anywhere near the accuracy of Big Ben. If I can pick any QB in the league to take me 80 yards in 2:00 to win the game, I pick Ben everytime.

Watching Ben is like watching Elway. They played just about the same way. At this point in Ben's career, his pocket passing matches Elway's, Ben has always been a better improvisor. Both excelled at using their size and vision to extend plays. Both were dangerous on the move out of the pocket as well!

I agree. I love me some Ben. I'm just sayin' if you look at the breakdowns he had an easy throw there and he kinda ignored DHB not once but twice.

The first one, great play. AB was pretty open and it was a relatively easy 19 yard pickup. The second one - much more of a force particularly when you see how open DHB was and how easy it would have been for him to make something happen after the catch. Course, you have to rely on the blockers to do their jobs, DHB to do his etc. etc. I suppose that's where the trust issue comes in to play.

Probably because he knows there is a good chance DHB drops it!

I did not really follow the Steelers close enough to grasp the abilities of Bradshaw, but he had to be really something special to be considered the best QB in Steelers history. Ben is headed for Canton and is playing arguably the best football of his career right now. It's ridiculous. I told some friends today that if the Steelers go out this offseason and improve their pass defense in the back end, we may be watching one of the all-time great teams in 2016. Can you imagine this offense with Bell, Pouncey, and all hands on deck?? Have fun with that.

Yep, and the best part about next year.. We're not losing anyone. Our biggest unrestricted FAs will be William Gay, Foster, and Beachum. Beachum is probably as good as replaced already, and Foster and Gay should be easily resigned. With us getting our 2nd round DB we drafted and the development of our 3rd rounder we may be ok on that front too. Throw in a much easier schedule, we're going to be hard to stop.

never can tell how teams will play

I never buy into reading that a schedule is weak or strong...

A former NFL QB told me once fans need to remember it doesn't always look quite the same on the field as it does on TV or in the stands.

Oh I know that. I saw a really cool NFL simulator once. It was this awesome (if simplistic) sim where they basically put a cam on top of the QB's head in a live action situation. All you had to do was press one of three buttons. (one for each of three receiver options.) Before the play they even told you essentially what the receiver routes were. Then the play started at full speed and all you had to do was press the right button at the right time and see if you had made the correct choice about who to throw to and when.

The utter chaos that happened when that ball was snapped from a QB's perspective. 21 other guys screaming and moving at full ******* speed and you trying to keep track of three guys while keeping an eye on the 4 or 5 guys trying to kill you in that 2 or 3 seconds was ridiculously hard. No, I get it.

And as for looking pretty good next year and our only serious FA signings including William Gay. Well he HAS been one of the most solid guys in the backfield this year...
