1. Its incredibly nice not having to sweat the end of a game for once
2. Im not a huge Haley fan, but he has rounded out this offense. The Colts spent the early part of the game actively taking ab and bryant out of it, and james and williams countered that... Wheaton, even dhb and johnson, every part of this o gets utilized when they arent overthinking
3. Ben is amazing... He had 4 tds and could have had several more
4. Dont let the current playoff standings fool you, the team controls its own destiny... Win out and we are in... Its that simple.
5. Harrison is unbelievable... Had the nfl not actively let him be held every play in his prime he would have had more dpoy's and every now and again you still see that monster on the field
6. Boykin did something bad to this staff, its the only explanation for his superiorcoverage, tackling, and ballhawking skills rotting on the sideline while "hit and miss" blake sees playing time.
7. I may get a boswell jersey... Miss aside, the guy has been great.
8.we best find a legit backup to Williams.. We are a pass first team, but aninjury to him makes us one dimentional and that isnt good
9 our depth at ilb is fantastic... Next to wideout its the deepest on the team
10. army ranger or not, our LT has some serious issues vs speed rushers getting the corner on him... We have been mostly lucky to date with it but he is getting exposed eventually...
11. AB is going to lead the league in recieving again... On a team with as many hof caliber wrs as we have had, he really may go down as the best...
12. Jacoby jones needs cut... His roster spot should go to a RB or DB, but not a pure kickoff returner... We dont need one, just someone not to fumble the ball

I'd add that Ben isn't getting any younger, so when are they going to look for the future franchise QB?

I think Ben has 4-5 more years, as long as he stays healthy. He also hinted last week by thinking of his family when he removed him self from the game with the concussion.

Boykin can't tackle for ****. He should be on the field when we go to nickel, but he can't tackle for ****. Also, our Army ranger has played very well the past 2 weeks...not sure what the heck you are watching.

I'm sure Tomlin is both thrilled and irritated that Boykin came in and made a play in his first game.

It was undoubtedly a case of "**** YA! - aw ****..."

It's kinda shocking to watch Jacoby Jones. He looks like he was just pulled out of a crack den. Archer may have not been great, but he wasn't a "poor decision followed by a turnover" waiting to happen.

I would take point 11 a step further and say that AB may eventually go down as one of the greatest receivers of ALL TIME

I actually love what the Army ranger is doing. He is dominant IMO. Speed rush all you want I'm going to meet you in the backfield and crush you. I've see him do it all the time.

he made more than obe good play as a matter of fact

Villaneuva was a raw as they come entering this year at his position. Where he is now is amazing. No way do you not give him a shot at it again next year. They have a lot of leverage on Beachum. Villaneuva is a football player, period, and a good one. I hope they keep him around.

Can't argue with any of the points made by OP.

My only gripe from last night is we're still seeing long bombs on 3rd and 2 or 3 when all it takes is a few yards to keep the drive going. It's just not necessary, especially when you're controlling the entire game.

Irks me to no end. You know this is coming mostly from Ben, and it's going to burn them against a good team. I don't mind seeing it once, but it happens way too much.

Well, there is the element wherein the other team is expecting you to attempt to pick up the two or three you need and not necessarily go for 45...

Thus you tend to have a few opportunities deep you wouldn't have on 3rd and long. It's a gamble but a better one than when you're in a close game or down a few points. If you're going to do it, do it when you're up a few and it's not necessarily going to kill you. Good time to get the practice I guess.

However I am not one who endorses running up the score for the sake of running it up. I prefer going into clock-kill mode and controlling the ball and letting time trickle away while you "Bus" them to death.

Maybe it helps us by backing up the defense and making it easier to complete short, drive-sustaining passes.

We've punted like 4 times in the past 3 games yet people gonna complain...

Im absolutely fine with the deep passes... Teams are committing a ton of pi vs us and we still are making plays...teams are too busy trying to contain the outside and whenever they do try to stack inside or jump routes undernieth those deep shots end that quick

Watch the game tapes or listen to tunch talk about him... At the game yesterday he got beat bad a few times and lucked out .. On one he was literally chasing after his block from behind as the guy blew past him... Its a technical issue. He will probably get better but he is getting more help than youd want right now for a Lt. He is exessively raw

And there os noone on the team worse at tackling than blake.. All he does is go for the big hit....he needs to be the 4th cb at best... Or a free safety

Point #2, Haley is MIA without Ben.

Point #6. Tomlin waited far too long to replace Blake. What Boykin did must have been kept behind closed doors. Either that or Tomlin flat out can identify defensive back talent.

Point #7. I'd give you or any Steeler fan a nod of the head for picking a non media player's #!

Surly we can find someone to replace Jones, he can't even catch a ball cleanly let alone run with it.

is that you antwon blake?

It's not only punting, it's also settling for FGs. I'm pretty sure all 4 FG attempts were on 4th and less than 4 and at least 3 of the 3rd down plays were deep balls or shots to the endzone. There were at least 2 3rd and very shorts that Ben went to the endzone...one to Wheaton where he threw it at the pylon and the other that was thrown too high and behind Bryant. These were both from 15-20 yards out. Again, not necessary since you only need 2 yards and you get 3 more downs. There were another handful of times we went deep against Seattle when all we needed were a couple of yards which resulted in punts or FGs.

On a completely different note, did anyone else find this odd at the end of the half? Ben throws a pass to Brown (I think) as we're driving in the final minute and he takes it down to about the 10 or 15 with a minute to go. Ben immediately starts trying to call timeout but of course that was the play where we had a phantom personal foul call so it gets called back and we still have 2 timeouts remaining. Very next play he hits Deangelo to get down to about the same spot of the field in bounds and we run a hurry up play. Now they're at the same spot on the field they just tried to call timeout the play before with even less time remaining and decide this time to run a play instead of calling a timeout (which IMO was the right call to begin with). My point is, there is no consistency or thought behind clock management and this proves it. Why try calling a timeout one play and then decide not to when given the very same situation the next?

Blake is a good tackler with arm injuries. It's not a case of going for the big hit, injuries are forcing him to tackle only with his shoulders. He should probably be on IR...you can even see it when he plays special teams --- he can't jam or block anyone in his current state.

Boykin at full health absolutely cannot tackle. I know he's everybody's favorite player, but that doesn't change reality.

Half the time we flex the TE and RB into a 5 WR formation and you think Big Al is getting a lot of help? You need to watch the tape.

is that you antwon blake?

Boykin can cover but he can't tackle. He should have been our nickel CB this whole time (with Gay staying outside when we go nickel), but that doesn't magically turn Boykin into someone who can tackle. He whiffs consistently on special teams and missed tackles last night too. I'm willing to live with it because of his coverage ability but you guys are deluding yourselves if you've convinced yourselves that Boykin is the second coming of Rod Woodson.

Anybody get to see Blake on the kickoff team last night? The one where they almost broke it and kicker had to tackle the runner.

Blake looked pathetic. Didn't even TRY to get the runner. (around the 32 yd line.)
