The entire night, Phil Simms, was obviously calling the game in favor of the Seahawks. Especially on the Chancler Interception, while they were showing the preview as we were seeing it, he continued to remark how clearly he possessed the ball on the turnover, yet not a single replay showing such. Also, how he was very quick on calling Wheaton's catch an incompletion. .. and I could definitely go on..

Phil Simms needs a 60 yard kick to his balls.

I used to think he was anti-Steelers but I think he's just pro-refs. He agrees with almost every call by the refs. He also leans toward saying lots of gushing and positive things about whichever teams have had the most recent success. The *s and Seacocks were in the SB last year and are currently considered the model organizations. You can always count on Nantz and Simms to suck their dicks

Well it was an interception and incompletion so not sure where you are going with this....Chancelor had the ball landed in bounds with the ball then Bryant tried to pretend like he had dual possession. As for Wheaton his one hand clearly came off the ball. The announcing was horrible though for both teams..

Sometimes, Simms seems as critical of the Steelers as us fans are, but he has a forum to express his thoughts. I don't know that he is anti-Steelers as he calls the game as it unfolds.

Yeah...one hand. The ball never moved.

And what about viewing the play in realtime speed...Simms and Nancy are always saying that. "The officials will look at this play at gamespeed to decide"...utter bullshit.

Didn't really pick up on any anti Steeler sentiment. I was too busy yelling at the tv at all our mistakes. :wink-new:

They were asleep at the wheel or slow on the draw in calling several plays/penalties:

The Seahawks catch that got overturned.

A defensive offside against the Seahawks.

The intentional grounding against Wilson.

It's like they've been told not to point anything out until after the fact. If that's the case, it makes it seem like they aren't paying very close attention.

I am ready for the Homer option when watching games. I want the option to listen to the local broadcasts.

You can do it in Sirrus/XM.....It is high time it comes to the ticket.

Local broadcasts are far superior to the lazy 2nd rate broadcasts on the national level.

Locals know their product, and their competition.

Anti-Steelers? No, but he does drag down the broadcast. Nantz is a decent enough announcer and that would stand out more if not for Simms.

I don't think Simms is anti-Steelers as much as he is just lousy.

His idiocy was on full display as they cutaway to Perrera to get his explanation of the interception play and because Perrera thinks it incomplete he just tries to raise his voice and reiterate a point he has already tried to make by raising the volume of his voice as the ex head ref tries to speak. Simms always leaves a lot to be desired and usually spews misinformation.

Phil Simms is a douche bag and only chugs on teams named P*triots, broncos, and whoever is playing the Steelers. Nothing new there. Worst of all is he is just so damn annoying. A ball gag and the gimp awake would be a fix for that idiot. My .02!

Phil Simms doesnt hate the Steelers, he's just an annoying air-filler

Simms is getting more and more punch drunk. I bet CTE is revealed after he dies.

Haven't seen many posts today that were less anti-Steeler than Simms.

NFL needs to look at NBA League Pass and take copious notes.

LP lets you select between home and away broadcasts, lets you watch archived games as soon as a few hours after the game's ended, has impeccable quality and reliability, and costs 1/3 of what Sunday Ticket costs.

Announcers don't bother me any longer...they are just doing their job, and in reality, what does it benefit them if they describe a game with a "homer" angle?

Maybe it's just me...but I don't get caught up in all of the "verbage"...I let my eyes tell me what I "want to hear"..

The only announcer I ever thought had a "homer" style was Curt Gowdy back in the 70's. He loved his Raiders, and it was obvious to me, especially during those great Steeler/Raider games of the 70's.

Not a fan of Simms either. What's even worse is both he and Nantz will be the team to announce Super Bowl 50 for CBS.
