Per CBA last year of his rookie contract will be repeated if Steelers choose to keep him:

Kewl Beans, maybe with this time off to refleck, he will come back with a vengence. You never know, Munch is a pretty good coach and Adams was held in high regard upon initial draft of him. Lets give it a shot as we don't have much to lose............

We do need depth so keep him if he comes cheap

Would much rather resign Beachum...

Not really a comparison since one is a starter and one would be a backup?

Sort of is a comparison as one is a starter and our team is better with him than without him.

As we know what we have with Adams which isn't much.

My point is if they find they are weighing both options, and HAVE to pick one. Go with Beachum.

If they can keep both fine too.

But I don't want to see Beachum go and depth sacrificed.

I really doubt one is an impediment for the other

You would think not.

But weirder things have happened like miss evaluating Shamarko,, pulling the trigger too late on a backup RB, and missing on bringing in a dependable backup QB, as well as keeping Blake as a starter entirely too long.

So we can say common sense tells us otherwise, I look to other situations where common sense failed.

I'm not sure there is a decision to be made with the two players. Adams coming back on a rookie contract is a no brainer if he is healthy. He is a more competent backup than some of the other tackles they brought into camp this year and if he can't bounce back, you cut him. The bigger question is whether they believe in Villanueva as the left tackle of the future. If they think he can man the position, Beachum will walk.

Resign him and let the two compete. It isn't like Villanueva is a expensive option.

and I would rather not be short at LT of all positions.

If his back is healthy, they will be able to sign him for the minimum to be a backup.

who Beachum?

Beachum will cost more than that

if you are talking about Adams he is under contract he won't cost a thing.

The Steelers will take a stab at retaining Adams.

I like what you did there............

Adams will retain the SAME contract as his final 2015 contract year as he didn't play any in 2015.

I don't care. Waste of space from Day One. At this point I'd rather take a chance on another team's castoff than our own castoff.

Not that Adams would get a ton of FA money, but this is definitely something the player's union should have contested.

I hear what you are saying Ron, but can't hurt to keep him and see if anything has changed, could be a camp cut. Doesn't stop us bringing in someone else.

Kind of like giving the "rog" all the power. Appeal your fines and suspensions to the guy who fined and suspended yaz.......... There was a reason why the STEELERS voted against the CBA. You know, I'm sure, thery were the only NO vote in the league.

I had high hopes for the guy because he's kinda sorta a local kid, but I think we've seen all we need to see, plus this year he's sidelined with some mysterious injury that we don't even know what it is, as far as I remember.
