Thursday Night Football

They are ugly and bright ... looks like the Buffalo "Santa's Elves" v. the New York "Grinches".

On another note .. Sammy Watkins is having a lot of trouble catching even the simplest of passes thrown his way. Lot of drops of catchable passes.

Both of these offenses look as ugly as the uniforms. The Jets really seem to have regressed from how they were playing earlier in the season.

So when the Steelers are forced to play in this charade, they'll need to go all black or all gold. Ugh.

How about all white? http://www.Invalid Link - Check SN Home Page/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/Steelers_White_Pants.jpg

.

My wife says they look like the footie pajamas our kids wear on Christmas Eve!

I would NOT want to wear THOSE on national television!.

.

I loved the uniforms, especially the bills one

Wow, I'd love to know what the hell the Jets were doing on offense. Bills handed them the game with that muffed punt and the Jets were like, nah, screw it, you guys take the win.

Did you catch the promo for next Thursday's game, Tenn-Jax?

Those unis make the Bills' and Jets' garb look tasteful.

That game was horrible. However, I think next week's game might be even worse. Who decides these games need to be nationally televised?

At least the Bills won. That helps our playoff chances.

This has been the sentiment, but I don't understand how the Bills winning helped the Steelers. Temporarily, if the Steelers beat the Browns the Steelers will be in the 5th position, that will be because the Steelers will have played one extra game. The Steelers are on a bye week after the Browns game and if both, the Bills and Jets win their games (while Steelers are on a bye) all three teams will be sitting at 6-4 with the following conference records: Jets 4-3, Bills 6-4 and Steelers 3-4.

Now I realize that the Bills beating NE is unlikely, but assuming they do, the Steelers would be the odd team out at that point with 6 games to be played, wouldn't they?

Had the Jets won last night the Bills would be 4-5, Jets 6-3 and the Steelers 5-4, then if the Steelers beat the Browns, they are 6-4 and if the other two teams win (while Steelers are idle) the Bills would 5-5 and the Jets 7-3 which would put the Steelers in the 6th position.

Maybe I have something wrong here, but I'm thinking a Jets win would have served the Steelers better.

I agree. The Jets, Bills, and Steelers are all very inconsistent. I think the Steelers have the most potential by far its just a matter of whether they can put it together or not. Oakland could sneak into a spot as well if they keep playing like they have been.

I thimk is good for us because no one is expecting any kind of consistency from the Bills, especially against the pats*
at least the jets have good weapons on D and decent WRs and RB, the Bills have a very good RB and that's it

If the season were over THIS WEEK, then yes you are correct. But there's another half of a season to go. Both have one game remaining against the Patriots and the last game of the year they face each other. The Bills face the entire NFC east in the second half of their season, the Jets already played two of them and are 1-1 so far. The Jets face 5 more AFC teams, and have lost 3 of their last 4 games. And lets not forget, the only way the AFC records come into play is if we finish with the same record as one of those teams. Lets just say for arguments sake that we win out, we are in because one of the Jets or Bills cannot win out, because of that final game.

I guess because of the colors in last nights game, color-blind viewers couldn't tell the difference between the teams.

The Jets remaining schedule is easy and the Bills is relatively tough. That's why most were thinking it's better for the Jets to lose this one otherwise they would have a very good chance to finish with a better record than us. But really, there's too much time left in the season to get too fussed over this ****. One QB injury changes the picture completely...

I always want to have as many potential playoff teams behind the Steelers because you don't know how the season will play out. The more teams that have to jump over you to get into the playoffs the better, that means they might need the tiebreakers and all the Steelers have to do is win. It's like a golf tournament, players in the hunt on Sunday would rather be in second place and 3 or 4 strokes back than to be in 10th place and only 1 stroke back. They now have to beat 9 players or hope that 9 players falter rather than just one.

I'd rather the Steelers have the Bills behind them and only the Jets in front of them, this causes the Bills to have to make up a game somewhere, not an unlikely scenario, but I'd rather that than have the Steelers be behind both the Jets and Bills.

I hear that side too. But "it is what it is". The other angle is that I really want the Steelers to get the #5 seed (to play at the Colts/Texans/Titans/Jaguars) rather than the #6 (at Broncos or Bengals) which makes it harder to root for the Jets to get the inside track there (had the Jets won last night, they'd have a pretty easy path to 8-3). Bills could definitely lose their next 2 (at NE, at KC). The Jets might win their next 2 (@ Hou, Mia) but they do have some losable road games down the line (Giants, Cowboys with Romo) plus the Pats again.

It's great Bills-Jets play again in Week 17.

I pretty much agree with you. Because the Steelers do not play the Bills or the Jets, being tied with them record wise at the end of the year probably will not work in the Steelers favor because of their current lousy AFC record. And, I'd also be leery of the Chefs making a run because they only have 2 AFC losses AND hold a tie breaker over the Steelers from the head to head victory. Seems to me if there is some kind of log jam between any combination of the Bills, Jets, Steelers, Chiefs and Raiders the Steelers will lose most of the tie-breaking procedures by virtue of only having defeated the Raiders. Unless, of course, the Steelers get to 10+ wins and just better them outright. Which, of course, would be desirable, trouble with that is their remaining schedule is no picnic. They need to start getting healthy and stop losing guys. At least the bye is later this year, perhaps it'll help them.

If the Chiefs lose to the Broncos this week, they will be 3-6. They still play the Raiders twice and the Chargers twice. Chargers may stink, but they still have a potent offense with Rivers which - to me - makes it close to a toss-up division game. I just don't see the Chiefs finishing better than 8-8 IF they lose this week. They are just not good enough (Alex "dink and dunk" Smith at QB, Jamal Charles out) to close the season 6-1.
