Jacoby Jones... we released Archer for this?

our blocking is terrible. He really had no room to run. When JJ learns the offense, don't be surprised if he takes some plays as WR. He could be a dual asset. Give him time. He changed teams and coasts in a few days, and still was out there today. He'll be fine.

Jones looked like a constipated gazelle out there. I think that's just his body posture, walks around like he's got a stick up his ***. Just an observation.

Unless a injury happens he will not play WR

LOL. They finally admitted they made a mistake and cut Archer. They made an effort to get a guy who had success in the past as a returner. Or ST blocking is wet ***, getting next to nothing out of it is what it will be until they fix it. I'll give them credit for at least trying to address it. Fail or not, we didn't lose any ground.

Point 1... He has a better pedigree
Point 2... He is a grizzled Vet, not some punk young guy
Point 3... He is a Jones... you cant have too many of those...

lol He may be washed up, we will know better after the bye week... he twice ran away from the blocks...

Mutha$)&@r Jones, I fully expected him to cost us the game, making yet another play against the Steelers. Cut him already!

Cool shades continues his streak of excellence. Scobee now a washed-up Jones to go with his uncle, Jarvis Jones. Of course he likes his pedigree like the punter from New England couple seasons ago, I think his name was Zoltan. Jacoby replaced a third round pick in Archer who we actually moved up to draft. And the hits keep a coming cool shades.

Glad he went to the bathroom when we drafted Brown Bell Bryant Heyward Decastro and any other draftee or signing who is contributing

He did continue his streak of wins despite adversity. As long as the hits come from unknown sources probably not much need for concern.

How did our star wr do returning punts today?

After that play, I thought the Gods were really pissed at Coach Shades and really wanted him to lose that game. Cause that was some whacked out ****.

I thought the same thing during the game. Jones and Archer looked about the same. I think Tomlin was expecting more too. I notice Brown was back in as PR at the end. Maybe Archer comes back too. lol

Not advocating Jacoby Jones, but how did AB do returning the punt?????

I read somewhere that most of Jones Salary is being paid by the chargers and Ravens. We are only on the the hook for 300,000 or so

I believe you are right, pretty cheap, near dri's wages........

Jones just got signed friday, NOT even attended a practice. Give him a chance. I bet he looks a little different this browns game. I'm for saying ONLY run it out if 3yards or less deep in endzone.

Salute the nation

I guess you guys didn't read any Steeler news leading up to the week huh. You all missed the part where it said he didn't have ANY practice time with the team because he got into town late then. I know everyone likes to think all special teams blocking schemes are the same but it's not. Once he gets a day or 2 to learn the scheme he'll be fine.

Well I would sure as hell hope he'd get some right for crying out loud. He's missed a hell of a lot more than he's hit.

so if Jones doesnt return one to the house ... or even past the 20 ... against Cleveland -- assuming he has a day or two of practice this week -- we can crucify him, right?

Lol, yes not making it past the 20 with practice for the week would be grounds for crucifixion, I would agree then. But there are times where blocks on special teams were blatantly missed, hopefully Jones can atleast break the tackle or out run the defender, then we'll know he's a upgrade from Archer.

I would venture to say the opposite

I'm sorry - but THAT is the FUNNIEST comment I've read on SN all season!!!

Really??? Your credibility is fading now...unless that was sarcasm...

Actually I was just jacking around with andrewjosh on this so you could say I was being sarcastic. I know that criticizing Tomlin for bad drafts touches some buttons here so I thought I'd play a little.

Seriously though, my true thoughts are this. I think the drafting and F/A acquisitions are a collaboration between both Tomlin and Colbert and with the input of the scouts. Now do I think the team has done a good job drafting and acquiring F/A's. Well there have been some really solid picks in the draft under Tomlin and Colbert but there have also been some head scratchers as well but that could be said for all 32 teams. As for F/A's again some solid pick-ups in Williams, Cockrell but like the draft picks some head scratchers as well but again this could be said for all 32 teams. Hell, we're always on the plus side of wins and loses every year competing for the playoffs so you can't be too harsh on the draft and F/A's.
