Ok hold on now, Maybe we need to increase global warming! Winter Is Coming!

The AGW scientists unfortunately deserve criticism for corrupting the peer review process:

In another email exchange CRU scientist Dr Keith Briffa initiates what looks like an attempt to have a paper rejected. In June 2003, as an editor of an unnamed journal, Briffa emailed fellow tree-ring researcher Edward Cook, a researcher at Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory in New York, saying: "Confidentially I now need a hard and if required extensive case for rejecting [an unnamed paper] – to *support Dave Stahle's and really as soon as you can. Please."

Stahle is a tree-ring professor from the University of Arkansas. This request appears to subvert the convention that reviewers should be both independent and anonymous.

Cook replied later that day: "OK, today. Promise. Now, something to ask from you." The favour was to provide some data to help Cook review a paper that attacked his own tree-ring work. "If published as is, this paper could really do some damage," he said. "It won't be easy to dismiss out of hand as the math appears to be correct theoretically, but it suffers from the classic problem of pointing out theoretical deficiencies, without showing that their improved [inverse regression] method is actually better in a practical sense."

Briffa was unable to comment. Cook told the Guardian: "These emails are from a long time ago and the details are not *terribly fresh in my mind."

http://www.theguardian.com/environment/2010/feb/02/hacked-climate-emails-flaws-peer-review

This article provides specific examples of how the peer-review process in climate science is completely discordant with how the process is done in other fields. For example, "For reasons that remain mysterious, all the major climate journals leave the authors’ names on the manuscripts sent out for review." Further, "If you are a member of the National Academy, you can submit four manuscripts a year, called “contributed papers” as long as you do the “peer review” yourself! That’s right: you send your manuscript to two of your friends, and then mail your paper along with their comments. Again, pal review. The PNAS editor then rubber-stamps the results. In fact, the editor probably goes through quite a few rubber stamps a year, given that only 15 of the 800-odd contributed papers submitted in the last year were rejected. For comparative purposes, Nature would have accepted only about 50 out of that number."

http://www.forbes.com/sites/patrick...eer-review-and-pal-review-in-climate-science/

So for publications in medicine, or economics, or physics, or law [Law Review journals], your reliance on peer reviewed data makes sense. But you need to investigate what the very small community of climate scientists has done to peer-review in the AGW community.

Shocking...

China Burns Much More Coal Than Reported

China, the world's leading emitter of greenhouse gases from coal, is burning far more annually than previously thought, according to new government data. The finding could vastly complicate the already difficult efforts to limit global warming.

Even for a country of China's size and opacity, the scale of the correction is immense. China has been consuming as much as 17 percent more coal each year than reported, according to the new government figures. By some initial estimates, that could translate to almost a billion more tons of carbon dioxide released into the atmosphere annually in recent years, more than all of Germany emits from fossil fuels.

Illustrating the scale of the revision, the new figures add about 600 million tons to China's coal consumption in 2012 — an amount equivalent to more than 70 percent of the total coal used annually by the United States.

Dems: "We'll need to raise OUR taxes even more to pay for them!"

Stunningly ironic

LOL. Britain will give tax subsidies for diesel generators because of global warming or something

Britain’s rush toward a country powered by energy from green sources to combat global warming has run into a little problem. Not enough green energy:

Even better. Britain is offering tax subsidies to build the dirty diesel generators, which green energy companies are scooping up. From the FT:

The subsidies on offer are so appealing that even solar-power developers, which have recently had their own subsidies cut, are building diesel generation on their sites as a way of maximising their returns. Lark Energy, a solar-power developer, is bidding for subsidies to build 18MW of diesel generation on its Ellough project in Suffolk, for example.

So now British taxpayers get to pay green energy companies to build new dirty power plants that will replace the old dirty power plants that Britain put out of business in order to move toward a green energy future:

Solar Energy Contributes to Climate Change Some, Study Finds

A recent study reveals an aspect about solar energy we never expected or thought possible - it contributes to climate change.

The study, conducted by climate change research scientist Aixue Hu of the National Center for Atmospheric Research and published Monday in the journal Nature Climate Change, found that solar panels tend to cause regional cooling when converting sunlight into electricity and increase urban area temperatures when said electricity transforms into heat.

Researchers conducted climate model sensitivity experiments to look at the effects of solar panels placed in various regions.

Large solar installations affect global and regional climate by taking solar radiation and distributing it in a different manner than natural processes. In turn, the farms change local radiation balance, "resulting in changes in atmospheric circulation."

Al Gore .. has levied his global warming activism from a net worth of $700,000 in 2000 into an estimated net worth of $172.5 million by 2015.

OK, I stopped reading right there. I seriously doubt Gore's net worth in 2000 was only $700k.

Since he ran for prez then I decided to check.....numbers vary but this seems pretty close......regardless of his 2000 net worth its growth has been exponential. He's probably saving up to buy all the coal reserves and leave them in the ground......you, know since he's all about his convictions.

According to public disclosure information, Gore was worth somewhere between $1 million and $2 million in 2000. Not quite eight years later, Gore is estimated to be worth somewhere in the neighborhood of $100 million.

MELTDOWN MYTH: Antarctic ice growing is just the first EVIDENCE global warming is NOT REAL

Thu, Nov 5, 2015

You might think this would be great news for all those scientists who have been warning us over the last few years about the impending horrors of “man-made global warming” but in fact they are not happy about it, not one bit.

Here for example is Dr Jay Zwally, the lead author of this week’s surprising Nasa study that confirms that the Antarctic is gaining far more ice than it is losing.

“I know some of the climate deniers will jump on this and say this means we don’t have to worry as much as some people have been making out. It should not take away from the concern about climate warming.”

Does that sound to you like a neutral scientific opinion? Do you sense any relief at the good news that the climate apocalypse of melting ice caps and rising sea levels may not be quite so imminent after all? No, me neither.

The supposedly disappearing ice was part of the regular drip-drip-drip of bad news that the alarmists so desperately need in order to persuade the public that “climate change” is real and urgent and that only the most radical solutions can save us from its horrors.

Whatever happened to 'Peak Oil'?

Obama Leads But No One Follows In Climate Change Fight

The President wants to decarbonize the planet by killing fossil-fuel production and its high-paying jobs. Almost no other nation is following his lead despite the promises that will be made at the Paris climate summit.

Last week we learned in a Reuters report that Asia will build 500 coal-burning electric generation plants this year alone. An additional 1,000 are planned in China, India, Japan, Indonesia and other countries. The latest projections are that 40% of the added power generation in Southeast Asia by 2040 will be coal-fired.

Does this sound like a continent that's taking the alarm bells of catastrophic global warming seriously? So America shuts down its coal plants, while the rest of the world builds them.

If that isn't bad enough news for the climate change lobby, the Times of London reports the world can "nearly double the available supplies of oil and gas in the next 35 years." And oil giant BP has issued a report that concludes: "This impending glut of hydrocarbons has demolished fears that the world is running out of oil."

2nd Train Derails In Wisconsin In 2 Days, Spills Crude Oil

WATERTOWN, Wis. (AP) -- A Canadian Pacific Railway train carrying crude oil derailed Sunday in Wisconsin, the second day in a row a freight train derailed in the state.

The eastbound CP train derailed about 2 p.m. in Watertown in the southeastern part of the state. The railroad said at least 10 cars derailed, and some were leaking.

So now you have doubts in the scientific peer review process that pretty much governs everything from medical research to things taught in school to high end scientific discoveries.

This is exactly why I think your skepticism is dangerous. There are thousands of peer reviewed pieces. It's a process the scientific community uses to police itself. Without it science is the exact wack-job stuff you guys keep posting here.

The conspiracy theories you guys are putting forth is just mind boggling.

Just keep going down that rabbit hole of conspiracies everywhere. Lots of good it will do you.

UPDATE: Evacuation, 1,000 Gallons Of Oil Leaked As Canadaian Pacific Train Derails In Watertown, Wisconsin

A potentially large oil leak is reported at the scene of a Canadian Pacific train crash in Watertown, Wisconsin. At least 10 carriages derailed at the spot where track repairs had recently been made. The situation alarmed people living in the “blast zone.”

The rail company later confirmed that about 1,000 gallons of crude oil spilled after one of the tank cars was punctured in the accident. A total of 13 cars have derailed, Canadian Pacific added.

At least thirty-five Watertown residents have been evacuated from the area, Watertown officials said.

Little Support for Punishing Global Warming Foes

Global warming advocates are calling for the prosecution of groups who disagree with them, and New York State has taken it a step further by investigating Exxon Mobil for refusing to play ball with the popular scientific theory.

But 68% of Likely U.S. Voters oppose the government investigating and prosecuting scientists and others including major corporations who question global warming.

Just 24% of all voters believe the scientific debate about global warming is over, although that’s up from 20% in July of last year.

Among voters who believe scientists have made up their minds about global warming, one-in-four (24%) favor prosecuting those who question that theory, but 64% are opposed.

Unchanged is the 63% who say that debate is not done yet. Thirteen percent (13%) are not sure.

Watch now the liberal geeks convene on Watertown holding hands singing Kumbaya..

My Freshman year in College, 1973 was the first time I remember reading an article about what a poor grasp Americans had on science and mathematics. I would imagine that most people reading this could not explain what Avogadro’s number is, what the difference between trivalent and hexavalent chrome is, what a coefficient of ultra-filtration of an artificial kidney is, or the difference between molality, molarity and normality in chemical solutions is. I don’t want you to feel bad, because in all honesty, I doubt that very many published Climatologists could explain any of this either. For sure, Al Gore couldn’t.

CO2 Danger
The point here is that most people reading about science have no real scientific education or training to know one way or another if they are reading science or horse manure.

I could not imagine going to school and not immersing myself into chemistry, biology, physics and mathematics. As it turns out, most of my closest college pals couldn’t either. My friend Steve is a bio-medical engineer turned foot and ankle surgeon; my friend Claude, while a killer drummer in our college rock band, Kicks, is a brilliant electrical engineer just finishing his Ph.D. Another pal, Rocco, is about to retire from the Navy with high rank after serving as a dentist and then Naval dental clinic administrator several times over. I have spent 30 year of my life working in scientific disciplines. First as a technical coordinator of a Dialysis unit, and then designing industrial water and waste-water treatment systems, and energy-and resource recovery technologies all over the country.

This man should be in prison

When my friends and I talk, we frequently talks science. When we do that we are able to quote and recall scientific laws, rules and standards that all scientific claims must adhere to. Usually, those who overhear us, think we are geeky knuckleheads. fair enough!

But you see, this is the problem with people assessing claims of things like man-made climate change. Most folks simply have no basing education in the roots of science to know one way or another if what they think about science is true or not. Hence, charlatans like Gore and Hawking, like a gypsy-wagon huckster, sell nonsense packaged as science.

Man-made climate change due to increased CO2 levels in the environment is a scientific impossibility. The indefatigable laws of science tell us this. So please, pick up a few college science textbooks. Put in the time, read, learn and then tell these Climatologists to stop the horse manure.

It’s almost as if reducing global temperatures isn’t even the point.
“That failure to address the central question is characteristic of the ‘climate’ dogma of the environmental left generally: What effect would their policy prescriptions have under assumptions most favorable to their position? The Obama administration Climate Action Plan (a 17 percent reduction in U.S. greenhouse gas emissions by 2020): eighteen one-thousandths of a degree by 2100. The pseudo-agreement with China, announced last November, disavowed two weeks later, supposedly now to be resurrected, but with the details left to the imagination; and so let us assume an additional 10 percent reduction by the U.S. and a 20 percent reduction by China: two tenths of a degree. Let’s go wild and assume a 30 percent reduction by the rest of the industrialized world: another two tenths of a degree. The grand total: barely more than four tenths of a degree. Is that worth something on the order of a trillion dollars per year? And let us not forget the latest fantasy of the environmental left: an 80 percent reduction in global greenhouse gas emissions by 2050. The temperature effect: about three tenths of a degree by 2100.”

Why consult people who have a different point of view? Josh Earnest gives the Obama administration’s view on the process of adopting a climate change agreement: “I think it’s hard to take seriously from some Members of Congress who deny the fact that climate change exists, that they should have some opportunity to render judgment about a climate change agreement.”

About that part of the Constitution that says the Senate can’t disagree with a Democratic President: Nope. That’s not in there. The White House plan shows contempt for the U.S. treaty process and the role of Congress, particularly the Senate. It is an attempt to achieve through executive fiat that which cannot be achieved through the democratic process.”

Meanwhile, fracking is getting the job done. “U.S. greenhouse gas emissions have fallen significantly since their peak in 2007—more than in any other country. The biggest cause is America’s fracking-led natural gas boom: solar power is responsible for 1 percent of the decline in U.S. carbon-dioxide emissions; natural gas is responsible for nearly 20 percent. […]

“[T]he growth in electricity generation from [renewable] sources looks impressive only in percentage terms. Solar power contributed only 18 billion kilowatt-hours (kWh) to the 3,936 billion kWh generated by the U.S. electricity sector last year. As a result, the country’s massive investment in the technology has made virtually no dent in total emissions of carbon-dioxide—and will not make a significant dent for the foreseeable future.

“Conversely, the extraordinary technological progress that produced America’s natural gas boom has sent natural gas prices plummeting and has driven a substantial shift from coal to natural gas as the fuel generating U.S. electricity. Burning natural gas emits only about half as much carbon-dioxide as burning coal (and even smaller fractions of harmful air pollutants), so its increased use at the expense of coal reduces emissions. Fracking, the technique despised by environmentalists for extracting natural gas from shale, is reducing carbon-dioxide emissions much faster than renewable energy can.”

How Global Warming Science Ate The NASA Budget

NASA’s obsession with global warming research is crowding out funding for planetary science and exploration

According to Representative Lamar Smith, chairman of the House Committee on Science, Space, and Technology, NASA's dedication toward climate research has reduced the funding available for its planetary science and exploration efforts Smith stated.

"The Obama administration has consistently tried to cut NASA's space exploration budgets in order to fund increases for Earth science programs," adding, "Just this year, the president proposed drastically cutting NASA's exploration systems by more than $440 million dollars"
