While a division title would be nice, we are 2.5 games out of it. It will be very difficult to catch the Bengals.

Looking ahead the Oakland game could be our key game. Oakland is 3-3 with 3-2 conference record. If they beat us, they have a huge edge in the AFC wild card race with the head to head win, meaning if the Steelers and the Raiders finish with the same record, they edge us out.

Our 1-3 Conference record in the AFC essentially means the Steelers will need to be a game ahead in the standings of the vs. the most likely wild card teams we do not play. We do not play the Jets or Dolphins. Their conference records are 3-1 for the Jets, and 2-3 for the Dolphins.

Not one of those teams will match our win loss record down the stretch if we get a little healthy. wont matter at all

Lets wait till we get a little later in the season to see what our final record looks like.

you play 12 teams in conference. there are not may teams going 9-3 or better in the AFC.. we are fine...

Time will tell Coach. With Ben back the offense should click and put up more points on a consistant basis and if the defense can do just enough, I can see 10-6 and a wildcard game.

I do not think 9-7 with a loss to the Raiders will cut it. 10-6, and we should be good for a road playoff game.

10-6 is the minimum, anything below that and we can kiss playoffs goodbye.

We get to 10-6 and ill take this team against anyone.

With Ben were a Super Bowl caliber team. The only team that could be a problem is the pats and I like our chances with Martavis Bryant on the field.

We already faced the pats so the defense and offense can game plan based on that 1st game.

I was hoping for 2-2 while Ben was out, although it is very likely we'd be 2-2 or at best 3-1 if he was playing. Cincy won't go undefeated. They haven't really played anyone so far who is good.

We all know how well Tomlin and company game plans based on previous games.

The rest of the AFC is fairly bad to average... you have the pats, the Broncos, and Cinci then the rest... and I dont think Cinci is that great... we can beat the Pats witha full team, and the broncos are more one sided than people care to realize

We've been game planning for the Pat's for a lot of years and Tomlin's not the only one who hasn't been real successful.

This is a different team with Ben playing with all his weapons. Bengals play Arizona and Denver on the road, I think we'll catch them.

Let's revisit at the end of November and Hope we haven't lost more than a game or two by then.

Time is running out for all the "just wait till they're healthy" responses. The AFC losses are adding up. They've got maybe 3 more overall losses to give, if they are lucky, 2 being realistic. 9-7 is not going to be good enough when their AFC record is crap. Beachum's not coming back. Pouncey is doubtful. Who knows where Tuitt and Gay stand. Same with Will Allen. Blake is playing injured and shouldn't be. They can't afford anymore injuries on defense and certainly can't take another on the Oline. And how long will Shazier hang around this time? Ben coming back should be huge, but they don't have much time to wait for him to return to form. With their schedule, they don't have much wiggle room. To put a number on it, after this weekend, the team with the greatest percentage change in playoff probabilities was the Steelers. They dropped 18.1%. That's how costly the Chef loss was. Meanwhile, the Dolphins jumped up 16.2 percent and Raiders moved up 12.6%. Instead of taking charge of their playoff spot, they left it open for others.

Fairly bad to average, exactly the type of teams the Steelers normally struggle with. As for the Pats*. Please. The Steelers haven't beaten the Pats* since 2011. And they haven't beaten them in Foxboro since 2008, with Cassel at QB.

I wish I had as much hope as others around here. While the AFC is not good, we are part of that group. We lost to the Ravens and Chiefs who are struggling. I know we did not have Ben, but with Ben we basically scored 14 points against the Pats and 6 when he played against the mighty Rams. Denver may be the worst undefeated team ever, Manning looks 70 yrs old, but they are almost a lock to win the division now. Cinci is a good team and we are certainly no guarantee to win. The offense is inconsistent even with Ben and the D regressed last week. On paper it should be a shoot out. The Pats are easily the best team in the AFC and I am not sure what people are smoking when they say we will beat them if we face them again.

Next 3 games are Bengals/Browns/Raiders. Should be 2-1 there. That puts us at 6-4. Next is Seahawks/Colts/Bengals. I dont see us winning all 3 at best 2-1 so that puts us at 8-5. Next up we got Broncos/Ravens/Browns. Once again I see us going 2-1 either losing against the Ravens or Broncos. I see us finishing at 10-6. Should be enough to squeak into the playoffs, but if we win a game and go to NE we will be double digit underdogs and our realistic chances of winning are probably around 10% at best.

Steelers will be wild card again. Hopefully they pull an '05 playoff run

We do get to play the Browns twice coming up. That helps.

Just the sheer pleasure of crushing the joy and dreams of Bengals fans would be a wonderful cap to my Sunday festivities. After browsing a few of their snide comments after last weekend, I can think of no better response than to utterly destroy them this weekend, and in the process letting out the blueprint (if you will) about how to defeat the Bengals every single Sunday for the rest of the year.

Just the wonderful wailing and lamentation of their fanbase would be so utterly enjoyable.

Wait til the playoffs.....they'll pray they don't draw us...I sorta hoping for the 6th seed (3:6 wildcard matchup)

Pretty sure we already lost to the Cheatriots. Oh, wait, maybe they figured out you actually need to cover the TE(not just Gronk, every team, see K.C.). Good luck with this coaching mentality...............
