A little more speed. he would almost me unstoppable. if he takes that long run to the endzone, it's 17-16 Steelers. and I think it breaks the Chiefs. Bell is an amazing RB, but how many times has he been caught from behind. and how many times have they then had to settle for FG's.

I was surprised when they caught him too. He should have been able to take that one to the House.

Speed has never been Bell's game. His game is pretty much everything else.

You're complaining about Bell, given everything else that went wrong today, really?

I was surprised he got caught, I don't know if he was fully aware there was a pursuer that close behind, I was fairly certain he had a gear a bit higher than what we were seeing there. At any rate, the guy is a freak of nature, and we should have won this game. This loss is at the feet of the conservative "play not to lose" play calling, and the "make Alex smith look like Joe ******* montana" defense. At least Ben is back next week.

Bring on the Bungles!

Joe

Yeah, I don't think Bell knew that guy was behind him. Why anyone would single out Bell, who routinely makes would be crushing tackles into total whiffs, as the problem is beyond me.

Sometimes you need a little help. If Nix had buried Smith its a TD. If he had just stayed on the block a little longer. **** it our season starts next week..

I don't see how you can be a a anything else but conservative when your QB whether it's Landry or Vick can't progress past his first read. We saw that all day. Your first read doesn't come open every time you have to be able see that right away and look elsewhere. If you don't have a QB capable of doing that your going to get forced throws, interceptions and sacks..

I don't think OP is blaming Bell, I think he is just saying that things would have been different if he'd scored that TD. I think we all realized how blessed we are to have someone of Bell's caliber.

what about the O and coaching staff not punching in while in the redzone? Bell got them in great scoring position, but they failed to get six. All in all, Bell is just fine. He has deceptive quickness and is elusive. Maybe he doesn't have breakaway speed, but those RBs are a rare breed.

Woo-woo, i didn't mean it like that. Bell is the best back in the league (I wouldn't trade him for no one). nor did i say it cost us the game. all i meant was if he had a little more speed he would be almost unstoppable. it wasn't a slam on him or anything. if he scores there , it takes the wind right out of them. The Steelers have some big decisions to make in the next couple of years with Bell, Bryant and Brown. none of them are going to take home town discounts. Oh, and I still don't understand why Bell and Williams are not in the backfield on 3rd an 1 or 4th an 1

yea, great question or have Nix as a blocker. We have the least creative brain-trust on offense. "Here we are, one back/no back formation, stop us!"

It isn't the play calling. Same complaints took place when Vick was in there. There is no way an OC can mask the limitations of very limited Qbs. There aren't "schemes" that can make Vick read a defense or make Jones see the LB and not throw it right to him.

Or make either of them audible out of a bad play for the defense they are seeing into the approved alternative.

Maybe had Haley had after that big run split miller into the slot and had him and Bryant in
Position for jump all he did try a fade to Bryant that that the timing was just not there and after that run he should of tried a outside run with Williams cincy will be tough and we will need a inc and several sacks to hold down so far their high powered attack cockrell and gay should be on the outside cockrell and will Allen double aj shazier try at the start solo on Eifiert. We know brown should be dynamic as well as Bryant it's time Wheaton miller dhb get ope. And make some plays to move the chains or score

PLAIN and simple, QB play is what lost this game. All around from game planing ti execution. There is a reason why Laundry is our fourth string QB. Think about that last line for a minute............ FOURTH string......

Salute the nation

Its the glaring truth.....theres going to be substantially improved output when Ben returns. We simply aren't the same team when #7 is out.

Are you sure guys because the coaches should of been able to come up with a magical gameplan that covered up these QBs flaws..
