Brown/Stats

The problem i had was brown looked a little heated. First of all he barely sniffed the ball with Vick. Landry comes in and sparks the team and Brown is bitching he threw the ball over the wrong shoulder. Brown should have patted him on the back and then explained what he wanted / expected. I am sure brown is frustrated and has not reached the diva status yet, but he has been getting close the last couple weeks.

I wandered how this was all going to play out when Ben went down and AB pretty much disappeared.

Nothing good can come out of situations like this and I would hope Tomlin deals with it because the last thing we need right now is WR drama and AB blowing a gasket.

I thought he would be better at handling the situation they are in right now.

He's handled it just fine, but if you watch any of the replays, there are times he's WIDE open and Vick never sees him, or sees him too late.

Or never even looked his way while being WIDE open.

I have little faith Tomlin will deal with it...if anything I would have more faith in maybe Ben or another Vet saying something to him. Just my thoughts.

And I can understand that Brown is frustrated that Vick isn't seeing him when he's open. I get that. I mean he's gone from a league leading receiver to completely non-existent in a week basically. But that's something you take up quietly on the sidelines and in the filmroom.

You certainly don't undermine the 3rd string QB in the home stadium with the game on the line. Gotta think that through AB. I know you're passionate. Now that you've got a QB that knows the offense... work with him. He's GONNA look for you. God knows he needs a wide open receiver. Give him one!

And that's not a knock on Landry, that's a comment on a guy who hasn't had much game time. Help him out! Everybody!

Tomlin's message to frustrated Antonio Brown: Worry about rings, not stats

Steelers receiver Antonio Brown has been frustrated by his decline in targets since Ben Roethlisberger's injury.

Less than a week after Steelers receiver Antonio Brown expressed his frustration for his decline production, head coach had a different message for his star wideout -- go get some rings.

Brown has now gone three straight games with fewer than 10 targets for the first time since 2013, according to PennLive.com. He pointed to Mike Vick's conservative tendencies in a new offense as the main reason for the lack of passes coming his way.

Brown had just three catches for 45 yards in Sunday's win over Arizona, a game in which Vick left in favor of Landry Jones in the third quarter due to injury. Brown has just 11 receptions for 111 yards in Vick's three starts. He caught 11 balls for 108 yards in his last game with starting quarterback Ben Roethlisberger. While Brown surely can't wait for Roethlisberger to return, Tomlin said Brown should worry more about winning championships than his stat line.

"It's uncomfortable for him, no doubt. It's obvious," Tomlin said per PennLive.com. "He's got a great rapport with Ben Roethlisberger and Ben's not playing. What are we going to do to win the game? When you're hunting what he's hunting, his career will be defined on how many Lombardis he contributes to our stash."

Brown hasn't been to the Super Bowl since his rookie season in 2010 when the Steelers lost to Green Bay. Tomlin inferred that Brown's career will be incomplete if he doesn't earn a ring.

"He realizes he's seen everything he's going to see in professional football, from an individual recognition and accolades standpoint," Tomlin said. "He's got to get a ring and that's what I've been talking about through some of this."

AB is kinda transparent if you ask me. I think it's pretty clear he's afraid he will be perceived as being nothing without Ben, which will affect his future contracts, etc. I imagine that is a legitimate concern but anyone who will be involved with offering this kid a job will understand why his numbers declined for 3-4 games in 2015. He should relax

He should call-
Mike Wallace
Cedric Wilson
Randle El
Plaxico
Stonio

And see how things worked out after they were shipped outta town. Realizing what ya got, while ya got it, and how much it's worth is something most of these fucktards never quite grasp. Hopefully the light comes on for him

You guys need to get a grip

Brown was asked what he thinks he can offer Jones moving forward.

“Just got to be encouraging,” said Brown. “I know people took the gesture wrong, but I think Landry knows what kind of guy I am. I’m a compassionate guy, I want to help the team win and he’s the same. You saw we came to the sideline and immediately we discussed some things because we want to be positive, we want to be in a great situation and we want to help the team win.”

The dynamics with Brown will be interesting as Martavis starts to blow up and get more TDs and big plays than Brown. Don't think he will handle being an afterthought well and the jealousy may be palpable.

Brown will get crazy stats when Ben comes back cause defenses can only account so much for Bell and Bryant and #84. Likely nobody is going to want to get torched deep by Martavius and that will lead to #84 putting up huge catch and yardage stats for the second half of the season. He's a great player and he'll be fine.

you mean like him leading the way blocking on Bryants long TD run, or how he was celebrating with him the way all the WR's do when they score TD's?

Brown is being painted horribly lately and it's ridiculous. Yeah he was upset at a poor throw from Landry, and he was upset at Vick for not even giving him the chance to make plays, but go back and watch the game again. You see Brown and Jones on the sideline, talking normally, Brown giving him some advice, then patting him on the ***. Brown works his *** off getting himself ready for the season and for games. When your team is behind or only up 2 pts, you're going to get upset when you're open and you know you can make a play that could help blow the game open. He even said he didn't care that his streak ended, but he's one of the best playmakers in the league, you have to find ways to get the ball in his hands, and if the QB fails to do that...it's frustrating. The crossing route was going to be good for at least 15+. He had a step on Peterson with no one in front of him.

Earlier in the game when Vick got hit in the endzone, he had Brown streaking up the sideline wide open, by the time Vick actually threw the ball, the coverage realized that Brown was behind them, and then the ball was thrown WAY short. Had Vick seen that and just let the ball fly, we'd be talking about Vick and Brown owning the longest pass play in Steelers history.

Actually with the return and the threat of the Brown/ Bryant/Wheaton/Bey receiving corps, defenses will have to choose their poison.
Depending on the situation AB could get more looks and after last week which Steeler WR is going to draw double coverage?
KC has somewhat of an effective pass rush but Jones could set a record for passing yards by a rookie!

It is like when Brown celebrates a first down, some people get upset, would you rather he not make a first down and have nothing to celebrate?

As long as we're winning I don't mind. But when these players do that crap when the other team is winning, it pisses me off. I want someone to go up to them and yell "scoreboard, *****!"

That's impressive since Jones is a 3 year veteran.
