Vic likes tall receivers he can see make cuts or run clear. That's about it.

They better evaluate him quickly. If he can't go, I don't see how they keep him on the roster and bring in a replacement to back up Jones. Ben may not be ready. Will be interesting for the next 24 hrs.
 
I said in the prediction thread that Vick would be pulled and Jones would play. Can't have a poor passing QB who can't read defenses and that defenses don't respect. Vick is done as a QB in the league and only someone like Tomlin is infatuated with such a dumb untalented passer.

but you said it would be after multiple interceptions and fumbles....not an injury....so don't blow your horn too loudly

plus there were plenty of vick supporters praising the signing...so it is not like tomlin was all alone thinking vick wouldn't suck ***
 
I mean, you have to play Landry even if the Vick is ready to go... KC is a 1 win team. this is the time to see if he can repeat what he did today or flame out... the 4-2 record is good enough to start next week a game up on everyone for the wildcard. there is no need for desperation. If Vick can go, he is the backup in case LJ lays an egg, if not perhaps Ben will be ready enough to be the backup. The Landry jones experiment needs a final answer. is he the guy we saw in 95% of the preseason, or was the 4th quarter today the real deal...
 
Vick again sucked and to think he would play well against a good defense would be missing in the wind. Tomlin has always loved the horrible Vick, wanted to sign him after his jail stint but thank god the Rooneys stepped in then and said no.

KC isn't very good and we shouldn't need Ben to beat them.
I said from the time Ben got hurt that if they went 2-2 without him I'd be happy. So far they're 2-1 with the 1-5 Chiefs coming up.

Vick's skillset is best suited to drawing the defense up into run defense then throwing deep on them. Our offense is built on receivers running precision routes. The run game is opened up by the passing game here, not the other way around... it was just a bad fit.
 
Did anyone else see that Ben wasn't allowed to huddle around Vick and provide his input on the game situation as he did last week? WTF was that all about?

Yeah, kind of thinking that could be true. Certainly thought that at the time they were showing how they separated him from the action. A lot of contradictory responses as to WHO really called that long pass from Vick last week.

Congrats Landry! I had no faith in the kid but after watching Vick for 3 weeks I actually began to think during the game that he should play. He at least knows the playbook. Not long after that, he got in and played great. Hope he can keep it up. No Ben for 3 &1/2 games and we're 4 - 2, folks! I'll take that!
 
Great job by Jones, without a doubt.

In all fairness, he's been in the system for three years, so it's not surprising that he has a good understanding of the entire playbook. It was refreshing to see that they had enough confidence in Jones to allow him to execute the offense. I guess it's entirely possible that Vick is simply too stupid to have been able to pick up at least part of the program by now, and I was overly harsh in my prior criticism of Tomlin and Haley for not opening up the offense for him.

6 weeks ago Tomlin is an idiot for wasting a roster spot on Jones. Now he's an idiot for not playing him soon enough. Some of you guys really need to step back and get a grip...

The Chiefs always play us tough. I'm expecting us to win, but the Chiefs are not a team to look past. For the record- every game I have been to, we have won. So hopefully we have that on our side on Sunday.

6 weeks ago he wasn't competing with someone who went 3 for 8 for 6 total yards in a whole half of a football game.
