Rivers was actually able to snap his league leading 9 game streak with at least one INT thrown last week against Cleveland. He was able to start a new one last night when he threw his 15th INT in the last 11 games. Tell me again why he gets so much credit and called one of the best QB's in the league? Can you imagine if Ben had a streak like that? Let alone this late in his career. Ben is getting better and better each year, but each and every year they try to lump this turd in the same category as Ben. I just don't get it.

but...he is a winner.....you know all those big games he has led the chargers to victory in......

I was shocked Gruden could keep going the way he did last night. That guy is amazing, I mean being able to announce a Monday Night Football game is one thing, but being able to do it with Phillip Rivers **** AND Balls in your mouth is truly a spectacular talent.

Joe

Rivers is a good QB stuck on a bad team. He was playing with a bad OL and his best Wide Receivers. But they guy has some Harbaugh in him. His facial reactions are rather funny. He looks like someone just took a dip in his wife's pool.

Ha. I get it, Gruden gets paid to fill air time with whatever thought pops into his head.

Back to back plays, he goes on and on about how bad the Chargers O line is, giving up sacks, pressure, etc. Just bad. Then Rivers makes a long pass, and Gruden says "you have to give it up to this O line, they've been getting it done all night."

Wait, what?

Well, Cowher liked him better than Ben coming out of college. He's not a bad qb, but we might still be stuck on 4 Lombardis if we had gotten him.

Good QB on a bad team? That team is stacked with talent, Keenan Allen, Malcolm Floyd, Antonio Gates, and they finally have a solid RB again. And it's not the firs time he's had that kind of talent around him, he had one of the best RB's to play the game on his team for several years and couldn't do anything. The Rivers to Gates connection is the most QB to TE TD combo in NFL history. Don't give me this stuck on a bad team crap.

Ladainian Tomlinson, Antonio Gates, Vincent Jackson, Malcolm Floyd, Keenan Allen, Darren Sproles, Micheal Turner, Keenan McCardell, Chris Chambers, Eddie Royal. He's had plenty of talent around him his entire career. San Diego has constantly been known as the most talented team to miss the playoffs on a consistent basis. A lot of that has to do with Rivers and his timely mistakes.

Wait, what?

He also said that Wheaton hadn't been targeted all game until the 72 yard TD pass, but all the outs that were nearly picked off from Vick were to Wheaton. Then he said that he didn't see Heyward or Tuitt on the sideline the entire game, as they are jogging BACK on to the field after getting a breather.

Okay guy, poor announcer, imo. But Terrico(?) was trashing the Steelers all night.....**** 'em.

Floyd was playing with a concusion. S. Johnson was out. Did you see the OL he has to play with?

Rivers is very good, not great Quarterback. His career QB rating is 96. 65% compeltion, 262 touchdowns, 127 interceptions.

Yup, Ben won a Super Bowl with an OL like that, and lesser talent at WR. Floyd wasn't playing with a concussion, that's not even remotely possible in today's game. If he was playing, he passed the concussion protocol, which means he was good to go. They still had Antonio Gates, Keenan Allen, Malcom Floyd, Ladarious Green (who filled in for Gates VERY well), and Danny Woodhead. Quit making excuses for your boy... I'll say it again, FIFTEEN INT's in his last 11 games, and that's without throwing one last week.FIFTEEN!, he also has three lost fumbles in the same time frame, two of them this year. That's 18 turnovers that his team has to overcome.

Rivers is a good but not great QB, and pretty ******* far from elite. No stones in the playoffs, and still the only QB to have a #1 offense AND #1 defense yet still miss the playoffs. Imagine if that happened in Pittsburgh. His TO ratio knocked them out of the playoffs with the best talent in the league! He'd be run out on the Pitt-Ohio Rail if it happened here.

He always kind of reminds me of Romo, good for that one big mistake when the game is on the line.

This guy is such an ugly passer. His sidearm throws are junk. Glad we sent him home with an L

Three plays before his pick I said to my wife "Well, Rivers is usually good for at least one pick a game, this would be a great time to get it" :) Thanks Phil!

Joe

RIvers is like the Ken O'Brien of the '04 draft.

Rivers took his helmet off on the field after failing to pick up the 3rd and 8, prior to their last field goal. There was about 3 minutes left in the game. Should have been a 15 yard penalty.
