Punting the ball from the 39 was a no brainer, when you take into consideration the Ravens had
2 receivers knocked out of the game at that point. The odds were that if you punt inside the 20, you get
it back around the 50.
I think the odds are the same that Joe hits a big one and gets them out of the hole, he's proven he can do that to the Steelers. He actually did in that game when he hit #11 for a big gain as Willie Gay was mollywhopping him on a blitz. I have no issue going for the 1st down to win the game right there with your best unit on the field. Maybe, not the best players, that can be criticized, but the decision to go for it, was good by me, it just didn't work out. Tomlin played to win rather than to not lose and many fans have been calling for that mentality for a long time.
I'm not sure why all the angst over the decision.
