Steelers select Dri Archer in Round 3

About 15% of this thread is Archer-related. The rest is occupied by the many vendettas and hidden agendas (apparently) held by about 20 Steeler Nation members. Most of it is Lawrence Timmons-related.

I know how that sounds, but it's true.

I'll have to take your word on the 15% portion. There are some very good points being made, both pro & con. I say, let the kid play, then decide. I'm thinking he won't be as GREAT as some here predict, but also, won't be as bottom as others think.

Salute the nation

Thats just it i dont think no one said he will be great. No one seriously I dont think.

I said he was the love child of a triangle involving Walter Payton, Barry Sanders and Mary Lou Retton.
if that's not saying he'll "bedazzle" then I dont know what is.

I love watching this kid run, mesmerizing skills. In particular, at 2:46 the way he sets up the safety while sprinting away from the corner, turns him around then zips right by him in a split second. Cannot wait to see Archer on the field in a Steelers uni! :)

Oh yeah I forgot about that. Well nobody besides Supe and we all know he crazy.

Tibs has, probably about 2-4 times per page (no exaggeration).

You tend to stick with the stance of, "I think Archer is awesome and could maybe be awesome someday maybe!"

After watching clips of this kid, I don't think I will like him. I worry that every time he gets the ball it will be a blur, don't think the cameras will be fast enough. Nothing worse than watching the cameramen trying to locate the runner, only to find him in the end zone.

Examples?? I will wait patiently like a prick..

I've never said that he is great. I said that his skills are mesmerizing.

As far as Tibs its hilarious how you conveniently dont understand exaggeration and hyperbole when somebody else does and uses it but do when you use it pretty much all the time.

I am confused. In the clip above I witnessed Archer get tackled. Somehow he is not dead. How is this possible?

The more of these videos we have posted on here one has to take somethings away from them. The kid is both fast and quick. Has very good balance and change of direction. He is tiny. Lots of things to like about him but the fact that he is tiny really makes him suitable for a limited role. Should our line give him a seam like fast Wilie had in the Superbowl this kid could be gone. The only assets his small size could have is his ability to be hidden behind other players so that he gets lost for a bit behind the other players.

I hope this kid becomes a big contributor to the team this year.

Ive noticed no one has complained about the thread page length yet.

I am happy to oblige:p

Oh yea-

These guys want to act like all 93 pages are form people like me being stupid and keeping the page total going with goofy posts, while in actuality those posts would fill about 5. The other 88 are them throwing a hissy fit and people's responses to them lol.

Quite honestly, I was apart of the 'silly' crew, carrying the page length past the 65+ mark..

I went on vacation and a week later this thing is approaching 100 pages, and not to my surprise, people were still arguing about a player who hasnt even put on a Steeler issued jock strap yet.

I'm guessing they all had to buy new TV remotes after draft day. Based on the outcry I picture them all jumping up and down on them whilst screaming until nothing was left but a pile of plastic and wires.

Not sure which one of our distinguished members this is, caught on camera as the Dri Archer pick came in....

I saw spreadsheets and a printout of a PowerPoint in that video, Tibs.

Yeah all ****** 4 of them and None were serious. Over four years and 500 touches not to mention the number of plays he didn't touch the ball. FOUR!!

Four in two years. That's a **** ton. As an upperclassman, the dude had 310 touches (including returns) and suffered four noteworthy injuries. And 500 touches isn't the huge number you seem to think it is. It's only 125 per year, or about 10 a game. In other words, he was a part-time player and part-time returner who still got injured every handful of games as an upperclassman.

And none were serious? One forced him out for the rest of a bowl game, and another caused him to miss all or part of four games as a senior. Someone should have told him how minor they were.
