Look on the bright side.... This defense isn't going to be in a worse situation the rest of the season than they were last Thursday against Brady. He makes good defenses look bad.... so there's that.

Williams is not a threat or mismatch in the passing game like Bell so I don't agree with "very little drop off".

Absolutely, this thread was not intended to be a slight to DWill at all. In fact, I think we may have the best tandem at RB we've seen in years. But let's be real, Bell is an incredibly unique, multi-purpose back that can do a lot of damage in the red zone, and in the passing game. Inserting him back in the line-up will get this offense cranking at a high level. Having a player like DWill to spell him is huge, and I'm sure he'll have a significant role moving forward. Whatever improvements we achieve on D will only add to the equation as the season goes on. Partiucularly if they reduce the coaching and communication mishaps that were so blatant against the Pats.

I agree Bell is more versatile, but Williams exceeded Bell's YPG average gaining 132 total yards over Bell's 119 average. This equals no drop off, and actually a gain.

DHB had 4 for 58yds. No threat to out jump anyone. No threat to draw a PI. Can't keep his foot in bounds for a lollipop TD. That's a HUGE drop off from Bryant.

I'm not slighting Bell for not being great, I'm slighting Bryant for his inability to keep weed out of his teeth. And that is a big reason why we lost.
