Report: Brady was open to accepting a one-game suspension on Monday

For the first time, Patriots quarterback Tom Brady was believed to be "open" to serving a one-game suspension for not cooperating with Ted Wells' investigation as part of a potential settlement. It was a possibility heading into settlement talks in court Monday, according to someone briefed on his thinking.

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that Brady was open to serving a one-game suspension for failure to cooperate. Like 13 days ago, however, it never got to that point due to the NFL’s insistence on Brady admitting to guilt, knowledge, and/or responsibility in connection with the alleged deflation of footballs.

Take the deal Commish!

Brady is at the point in his career where he is concerned about his legacy, so he will never admit to anything and fight it tooth and nail to the last courtroom. At the very least I think (I've said this before) that he will try to drag it out through this season and win one more SB with Belicheat and Ernie Adams and if they do he will accept whatever punishment Rog wants to dish out and then retire the next day along with Belicheat. Oh yeah, I can see that happening.

And he failed to cooperate with the investigation and destroyed his phone because he was innocent? Maybe the Cheatriot couldn't get the cheatos stain off his phone? Douchebaggery

Open like a dilated *******

From what NFLNetwork on satellite is saying, judge could be making announcement soon and encouraged one last chance for sides to come to a agreement

Looks like he'll be playing week 1 regardless. No reason either side wouldn't appeal whatever the judge hands down this week.

I was playing around with outcomes in my head and i think either side appeals regardless... there is a slim chance that if the judge reduces it to a game or two he may not be able to get an injunction to play though. I still expect him game 1 no matter what...

This is already an appeal, I think either side losing is going to have to eat it and move on.

Cook and Poni on 93.7 are reading my stuff. Not the retirement part, probably too conspiratorial, but they nailed the rest of it.

4 options:

he plays, they win
he plays, we win
he doesn't play, they win
he doesn't play, we win

i'm honestly only OK with the second option...

y'know, the commish set out the punishment.
if Brady doesnt think it's "fair", he should seek employment elsewhere. like the other millions of ******** in this country would do if they faced similar circumstances in their chosen field.

then again, only a select few of us can PLAY A GAME and call it a profession.

**** him.

it is a catch 22... Goodell is out of control with his random punishments, but Brady is an entitled *****... no winner here

yeah, but at one point, all teams had a chance to voice any disagreement to allowing Goodell to being judge, jury and executioner.
all but one team quickly accepted.

Except that ain't going to happen. If I recall correctly the Belicheat/Br*dy combination is 6-2 against the Steelers and scored 40 points or more in four of those wins. This year our Efense is the worst it's ever been and no point spread will be high enough. If Br*dy plays there will be an ***-raping of epic proportion and I'm already resigned to just giggling about it and working on my "Obviously" over/under and the MT Word Of The Week. Pats** 99 Steelers 31 only because the refs will stop the game since the scoreboard doesn't go into triple digits.

Fixed it for ya. We'll somehow manage to convert all 4 2-point conversions.

t*mmy b*y has the most entitlement syndrone ever known to mankind. He is a true, number one, *******. I could go on and on and on and on, but most here know how much I despise him and that organization. Force sell the team, life time ban hoodie and deflategate qb !!!

Salute the nation

when he sued the guy for taking the flowerpots he threw in the trash I knew he was not a good guy, but he hides it well enough... most NFL players are bred with entitlement issues. these are mostly star athletes in a society that treats them like they are better than everyone else from a young age...

I don't give a **** about anything but that first game suspension

ayep

Every player fined or suspended should come out and sue the NFL. Once more Brady and the Pats get the easy way out.
