Fantasy Top 3?

14 team PPR league and I have the #1 spot, drafting Tuesday after regular season dress rehearsal... who do I go with and any strong case to take Bell, doubling my rooting interest welcome? Feel like AP is a freak of nature with a chip on his shoulder and an O coordinator that gets most out of RB's, so I think he's the safer pick, but want to talk myself into Bell! The suspension sucks!

Bell.
Even with the 2 game suspension.
You need him for the playoff push.
He's SO worth it.
It's not being a homer, either.
Take him and enjoy consistent big time production each week.
For PPR fantasy, think Faulk, Holmes, Tomlinson in their rush/receiving heydays.
I recently did an auction draft and he was my big ticket player.
I wasn't going to be outbid.

Thanks for the push in that direction. Now, very concerned that Pouncey out and Bryant out will have a major impact, too. Bell was very good early in '14, but off the charts after Bryant emerged and drew coverage. Definite impact on Bell's '15 future for his first 2 games back, and Pouncey long term hurts the o-line/run game.

I'm factoring ALL of those concerns in when saying Bell.
Other than the first two games he's suspended for, I wouldn't worry so much about Bryant and Pouncey for the others.
While it would be better with them in the lineup, obviously, he's still going to put up solid and consistent points in those early games.
He'll then shine on like the crazy diamond he is in the latter part of the season and your playoff push.
We still have weapons - Brown, Wheaton, Miller, Coates, Ben - basically enough to spread Ds out.
When Bell's back, even without Bryant and Pouncey, Ds can't stack 8/9 in the box. Ben and Brown would make them pay.
Plus, Bell is 3 down back that can catch.

99.9% sold... thanks!

So I have the #2 pick in a 12 team league. I think I have to go Bell or Lacy, though I would really love to have AB. But seeing as my next pick is #23,
I'd be picking from scraps for RB, but I think I could still get a decent receiver at 23. At RB, I like Bell and Lacy above everyone else. If both are there I'll take Bell for his points per catch potential, but if he goes #1, I'll be happy with Lacy.

I have 2 as well in a 12 Team PPR. I will take Bell or Lacy with my pick. Then, on my 2nd.3rd I will plan on taking both WRs. I will revisit RBs at 4th/5th picks pending on the board. So far in mocks I get a Cobb, TY Hilton, or other higher tier 2 or low 1. The second and third backs are not bad either...normally. I have seen L Murray, Ameer Abdullah (he is going to start), Ellington, ...etc . Since Im PPR I value my WR more than the RB 2 and 3 positions.

Every year, I do several mock drafts and go into draft feeling very prepared... then the actual draft unfolds completely different than I thought it would! Very aggravating?!

This year, I'm going in with a solid plan that accounts for need to be fluid and my plan includes identifying several players I really like that have a slightly lower ADP than where I actually pick, having back to back picks at each turn, so I should be able to grab 2 I like, even if one or 2 go higher/just before than expected. Killing me that players (ie. Nelson, Benjamin, Foster) expected to go right in the middle, between ends of rounds I pick, keep going down! It moves players I thought I could guarantee getting onto the bubble where they are right at ADP where I actually draft and therefore could go a touch early if someone likes them. I suppose I'll find out soon enough!

Appreciate the input!

Are you suggesting you'd take Abdullah as your third round pick in a 12 team PPR?

I feel like that's a bit early even for my third round pick in a 14 team (pick #29 actually). I'd be happy to get L. Miller or L. Murray at 2(28) and B. Cooks or J. Matthews 3(29)... 14 team just drains value so quick!

Your "plan" should always be to take the sure bets early, and then go after your favorites or lottery tickets.
Bet early with your wallet, let your heart guide you in the latter part of the draft.
Make your own rankings and stick to that board.
Don't look to draft a position.
Let the draft fall to you and choose accordingly.
Just like the real draft......BPA!
Don't get sucked into runs on positions. We're easily distracted/misled into believing they'll all be gone.
And lastly, if you do really like a player, don't fear reaching for him a round early. There's no guarantees they'll be there on the comeback.
Better to reach and secure your guy then pass and be bummed he's gone.

No. I go RB, wr, wr, then the lions back in the 5th rd

It's a better plan to say, "I'd like to have 3RBs and 3 WRs after the 6th round" than to say, "I'm going RB, RB, WR, WR, RB, WR."
You'll always end up forcing a pick on yourself that you don't actually want and you'll ALWAYS pick the wrong player.
If you wanna say TE/D/Ks don't mean jack and I'm picking all those last, I understand that.
But pigeon holing yourself to specific positions in specific rounds is a formula for failure.

Im 2nd pick.

I'm not forcing myself to that. That's my goals, but I'll let the board decide. I will take a RB in the second pick. Either bell or lacy. Then on my second I need a top wr, my third is somewhat open but want another wr given ppr. If a top tier RB is there I'm all over it. But I doubt it given my mocks I've done. So I would have my number one RB set, and my two Wrs set.

On the next go around at 4/5 I'm hoping for at least one second tier RB. I have seen L Murray, and others around that level to get. I've been lucky to get two Rbs here and been happy. The Wrs I see here I'm not happy with and prefer to go RB. I see djax, Watkins, copper, k Allen...etc.

It's more of my strat than "I must go RB, wr, wr, RB,RB....etc.". I always let the board come to me. My league is funny. I know two maybe three qbs will go in 1/2nd rounds with at least two TEs. That helps me out huge.

I always wait on te, qb, till late. Again, unless Drew Brees is sitting there round 5.
