Vick meeting with Steelers

about three weeks ago I met a girl and she was real nice and she invited me to her apartment, so I went over there and she had the best *****.

Wonder what creative tee shirts we will see next game?

Death to Mexico?

Vick is going to kill the Browns?

Where was Vick when Joey Porter got shot?

I mean there is some comedy gold to be mined here....
there actually really is

Just because I love animals doesn't mean I don't care about domestic violence or child abuse. I am a multifaceted human being, capable of caring about more than one thing at a time.
.
Quoted for emphasis, this seems to be continually dismissed. BTW if you can torture animals until they are dead for entertainment purposes, I dont want to be left alone around you.

Vick: I'll try to make Steelers proud

If there is a public uproar about the Steelers signing Mike Vick, it is news to him.

Vick on Wednesday practiced and then addressed the media for the first time since the Steelers signed him to a one-year contract Tuesday evening to back up Ben Roethlisberger.

Vick, who spent 21 months in prison after being implicated in 2007 in an interstate dog fighting ring, said he was unaware the people were angry the Steelers signed him.

“I try to stay away from that because all it does is make you develop mixed emotions about how you feel toward people,” Vick said. “And I don't want to be emotionally disturbed right now. I want to be in a great place. I'm enjoying what I'm doing. I'm playing football, and I'll continue to try to make my teammates proud, the organization and be the best football player that I can be.”

Vick was the Falcons' No. 1 overall pick in 2001 before serving jail time. Vick went on to play five seasons with the Eagles (2009-13) before spending last year with the Jets.

Vick started three games for the Jets, including a 20-13 win over the Steelers. Vick played in seven other games in relief of Geno Smith and threw for 604 yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions.

Vick was not re-signed, and there was limited interest in him in the free agent market until the Steelers contacted him. Tuesday was Vick's first workout/visit of the season with any organization.

“He can still throw,” offensive coordinator Todd Haley said. “He is scrambling for breath right now. It is a lot and you try not to give him too much to let him get his feet on the ground and understand that he hasn't been in a camp and we have to get him shape like everybody else has been doing for the last six months.”

The Steelers were in need of a veteran backup quarterback after Bruce Gradkowski injured his left hand in the preseason game against the Packers. He was placed on season-ending injured reserve, leaving a door open for Vick.

“He was real poised out there,” Antonio Brown said of Vick's first practice. “He calmly flicked his wrist and the ball was on you.”

when the mods say it does....

I wasn't trying to be a smartass like you are... I honestly didn't know what baiting on a message board meant.

I Googled it...I remember when I was new to this message board thing, I had to look up "troll" as well. Trolls tend to bait.

How can this front office reconcile signing Michael Vick but avoiding Randy Gregory in the draft?

Other teams' fans are already making up memes about "A rapist, a dog killer, and a pot head walk into a bar".... Total f'n embarrassment. **** Michael Vick, and everyone in the front office who signed off on acquiring him.
So to go on record you aren't concerned about two of the buts of that joke but the one offends you.

Thanks I knew you missed me and my cat

Now – you can’t say anything anymore that people don’t take it dirty and I am sorry that disgust me. That cat was the best **** I’ve ever had.

Did you know that there is a difference between killing an animal to provide food for people and torturing an animal to get your jollies?

Absolutely, but there are cultures where what we find appalling is commonplace and they simply don't grasp how wrong it was because it was something they grew up with. Maybe Vick is a sociopath, but then again maybe he is just an entitled fool who followed the wrong crowd and really is trying to make amends... I aint judging....

We are are animal people...we have dogs, cats, rats and in-laws, people!

But seriously, my wife is so ******* pissed right now, and I completely understand why, but as a football fan, I understand it and accept it and hope nobody gets Ben off the field anytime soon.

What the **** is wrong with you people.

How is this thread only in the upper 30s. I expect more from you trolls.

<----------

Should they have waited until today to sign him. It is after all national dog day and if the steelers felt the need to have him they should have done it right

Yep....that confirms it...definitely a fan of that wild and crazy guy!!......

Maybe the reason they feel that way is BECAUSE they are fans. You ever consider that?

Are you twelve. Is he working at a dog pound. Do you even read the **** you are writing. Where could he work that wouldn't offend you. Deny's.
And your an *******.
My point that you completly missed is that just because he can only play football he should not be in the game because he deserves to earn a living because its the only thing he knows.

I came home late last night and my wife noticed some scratches on my neck.

"What the ****'s been going on?" she yelled, "Been shagging another woman, have we?"

"Of course not," I protested, "It's from my mate's cat."

"Oh, well that's alright then," she said.

I just don't understand that woman. Sleeping with other women is frowned upon, but ******* a cat is acceptable?

I can't even believe any sane human being would even put that **** in the same area code as killing any animal.

I wouldn't put it past a person who tortures animals that they might also punch their girlfriend in the face. I know Vick has something in common with Jeffery Dahlmer, I don't know that about Ray Rice.

Wait ... Domestic VIOLENCE is not violence directed towards another human being? Or are you saying that murder is not a result of violence directed towards another human being? I get what you're saying about the connection between Vick and Dahmer (although to be fair to Dahmer, his dissections involved animals that were already dead). However, you lose me when you say that Rice and Dahmer don't have anything in common. I see that both of them directed violent actions towards other human beings. Dahmer's actions resulted in murder, With the way that woman's head hit that rail, Ray Rice is lucky his didn't also.

Watching NFL Network, all reports are Vick's looking pretty good right now. Some speculation he may be involved in some 2 point conversion plays.

Was she down at the protest today?

as long as his involvement is cheering from the sideline, I'm okay with that

My thoughts after having time to digest this -- I feel bad for those of you who have never been close enough to a pet to be able to understand the outrage some of us have. I have been around animals my whole life and cannot fathom how any human being would get enjoyment from their torture. That's just the mindset I'm coming from and that isn't going to change. Just because I love animals doesn't mean I don't care about domestic violence or child abuse. I am a multifaceted human being, capable of caring about more than one thing at a time..
I think more people relate to how you feel more than you think. In fairness this thread got a bit out of hand because one individual decided to take an extreme view on the matter and it deteriorated from there.

I've had animals my whole life, my pit bull is lying on my bed behind me right now. If anyone were to harm her I'd tear them to pieces with my bare hands. Vick did a despicable act I can understand why many people would be appalled he is now a member of the Steelers. I don't support the decision but it is a business decision and given what was available after Gradkowski got hurt an understandable one. I don't support Vick, never will but I'm a fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, one individual doesn't define my love for the team. I don't know what I will do or how I will feel if Ben gets hurt and Vick has to start but I understand if that happens many fans will not want to watch the games, that's a personal decision and one I can respect.

Steelers swayed away from Dan Marino for possible drug usage.

Def not the same Steelers...

F you ***** killer! ;)

The relation of Vick to Dahmer is laughable. No way could Vick be a serial killer. He's not white...
