Come on now, he's played in 2 pre-season games and has shown very little. He's a bust. :single_eye:

Thanks for posting. Always enjoy technique-type articles on players.

People are making a lot of the OLB groups plat as a whole and to a degree I agree with the assessment. Here's my assessment of the plays in the report.

1st Kuhn Run- This is a very good play and maybe the best of the day to be honest. He though did beat a TE, not OT, and stop the RB a 30+ year old white guy. Again, he shed his block to crash down and stop the back. Very good against starters but it was Andrew Quarless and Jon Kuhn.

2nd Play- He gets stuffed. Hey, it happens but the journalist makes it seem like he didn't get stuffed. Yes, he didn't try to loop the arc but at this point the QB is in the end zone so if you try to go up the arc you are going to be out of bounds.

3rd Play TFL- Again, Dupree does a nice job and disrupts the play but it again is against the TE this time Richard Rodgers.

4th Play- The best I can figure he beat Josh Walker a backup OG who was playing RT for some unknown reason. Again, he beat him and that is a positive but this was not the top of the line competition.

I would say Dupree had a much MUCH better game and seemed to know where he was supposed to be and seemed to be more reactive but he still has some work to be an every down edge rusher in my opinion.

Coach says he's slow to react and will only be an average player. I wonder if his head is too big? Troy's head was too big and he'll make it to the HOF. There is something to be said about big heads on NFL players.

The only thing we should be looking for is continuous improvement. No need to make snap judgments --- all I heard last preseason was that Martavis Bryant was a project with a long way to go...

Hey, the first two games he was getting stuffed by the backups so beating the backups is a very big improvement. And when you get a matchup on a TE you need to win it and he did last week. The first two games the TEs won the battle. So he did have an improvement but I am not starting him over Debo or Moats at this point.

The thing I noticed is the ease with which he shed blocks...even double-teams. Was simply pushing/punching dudes off him...very strong young man right there. He changes direction pretty good for a 6'4" 270 guy, as well.
