Coach speak, with BRAVADO Cohwer had it and now Tomlin....... folowing in the perceived footsteps, has it. Just remember when coach Tomlin installs water cooled muffler bearings, he knows to make sure the arrows are pointing up.

Do you still beleive in SANTA CLAUSE ???? I think if there are six reporters there watching practice, then read all six's report. That's how yaz might get a more accurate accounting of the practice. I read these things and ONLY take them as a general accounting, not the extreme neither way. So a guy has a bad drill, or a magnificent catch, they can't peak in either direction continously. Kapish??

I have been very wary of the Dupree pick since I did not like the pick. I thought he was a better pick than Jarvis Jones but was the polar opposite. Jones had the production just not the physical ability while Dupree is a workout warrior with very marginal production. Personally, I was all in on Shaq Thompson dropping 10lbs and being our new SS. Thompson might not have had a true position in college playing RB, S, and LB but he was definitely a true football player being electrifying wherever he was on the field. Only time will tell but I think Dupree really needs to take some extra time with JP and maybe follow Debo around like a lost puppy figuring things out because I doubt the fan base holds out much past this year on him contributing.

Hope the light comes on early for Dupree and Jarvis can get his *** to work on the other side. We need these guys collapsing pockets and making plays.

Probably a good thing the fan base doesn't pay his wages then. Everyone knew this kid was going to be a project coming out of the draft. Nothing, absolutely nothing, has changed since then. And a training camp scuffle is not something that should raise too many red flags. Especially when nobody knows what started the argument in the first place. Maybe he got tired of Gilbert punching him in the nuts. Heck, nobody is giving AB crap for walking out on a drill yesterday. With him it's seen as a sign of his competitiveness and drive.

Personally, I'm pretty damned happy to see the rookie show some fire. That's one thing this defense is missing Fire/Attitude.

Or he is tired of being held. One of the comments he made after his first preseason game is the pros hold lots more than in college. As to Jarvis and Beachum I believe one of them used the term on roller skates to describe Beachum.
 
I'm pretty sure at this point Jarvis Jones is what he is.

If he starts for us, I'm pretty sure every off-season I will consider his position "upgrade needed" and address it in the draft until he's gone. I do not consider him deserving a 2nd contract at starter-level money.

It's still WAY too early on Dupree. I can be a bit more accepting on the LOLB spot not being a 12 sack guy if he does other things well (hell, we had Haggans at that spot for years). And so far in pre-season (and what I saw in his college tape), he actually does a lot of the little things for a 3-4 OLB well. He plays in space and his instincts standing up are actually better than I thought at this point. There's a lot of stuff he needs to work on once contact is made with NFL caliber OT's but that can be worked on with that talent/size/strength. As long as he stays healthy and nagging injuries don't derail his work ethic, I think he'll be a good player.

He was also going to be a project in that he had to change from end to linebacker. Realizing he was going to have a learning curve with his new position he was not expected to be an immediate player but would play in some situations while learning. Jarvis on the other hand was already a three four linebacker who was not asked to change position and should have had a much shorter list of things to learn. I hope he surprises those of us that think he may be a bust or at best a role player for the team but I do not have much hope for him.

Dupree played OLB his last two years in college, not end. Now, they didn't provide him with a position coach, so that set him back. And he was going to be a project in large part because of that.
