Listening to 105.9 the X and reported that Bud Dupree got into two fights, one with Beachum and the other with Ramon Foster. Tomlin of course kicks the rookie out of practice. Told him to get the **** out of here. Guess the fact he's a rook he has no credability yet with Tomlin. Supposedly Joey got involved and started jawing at Foster. At least there is life in that LB'er corp.

Thanks for the update. Also Zumwalt just got cut / injured, so that clears the picture a bit at LB. I'm actually glad Dupree mixed it up today, it's about time the kid shows a little fire.

From Neil Coolong who is covering Latrobe for Dejan's site:

5:38: Bud Dupree rushed hard off the defensive left side, and appeared to get tangled up with Marcus Gilbert as they approached Roethlisberger. Jarvis Jones rushed off the other side, carrying Kelvin Beachum with him.

Dupree exploded after that.

He scrapped with Gilbert back into a pile of offensive linemen and pass rushers, and appeared to go after Ramon Foster after it.

Foster yelled at him, “the play is over! What else are you trying to prove?” Eventually, Cam Heyward intervened, as did James Harrison.

The entire bout lasted approximately one minute, but the voracity in which Dupree attacked was noticeable. He was even yelling in Harrison’s face, appearing to be challenging him as well.

Not even 10 minutes later, Dupree was paired against Gilbert in a 1-on-1 offensive linemen vs. pass rushers drill. Dupree appeared to smack Gilbert across the head and the pair scrapped again. This time, it appeared Foster and Joey Porter were yelling at each other as well.

Tomlin wasn’t interested in speaking much on the issue, chalking it up to “it’s just football” in his post practice talk with the media.

It appears that Dupree was determined to make Gilbert his *****, not Beachum. Beachum was busy being on roller skates as Jarvis pushed him back. Also, no mention of Dupree being forced to leave practice.

Unfortunately not there, only reported was was being reported on 105.9 the X. Guess they got there fat boys mixed up. They did say Dupree got kicked out of practice so who knows. Glad to see some fight out of these guys.

Steelers place LB Jordan Zumwalt on the injured/waived list; sign LB L.J. Fort

This Fort kid looks more like a safety to me than a LB... he's 6-0 230. Maybe they want to pick his brain about what's cooking in Belicheat's dark, dark mind...

Good. I don't need a starting getting hurt from the fighting bs.

-Reporter: What happened back there with Dupree Coach Tomlin?

- Tomlin: Popcorn, obviously.

I agree with Big Ben "it's about time!" As long as the Steelers don't look like the Cowgirls getting beat up by the Rams. Dupree probably frustrated more than anything else. Rook learning how to be a professional

rook wants to take into Harrison? he should be looking up to him and asking for help...oh, well. Onto the next preseason game...

GOOD.. I love hearing about some linebackers on this roster with some fire. Maybe once the season starts he'll start taking that aggression out on some QBs

Tomlin on Dupree

I don't worry about style points, as Dupree's really a unique animal. He's his own man. I embrace that training camp physical conditioning,,it will be a point of departure for us.Obviously his arrow is pointing up, his actions is a recipe for fireworks.Although anyone in a helmet is a play-maker for us, I get a sense, with his pedigree, no stone will go unturned. I see a sense of urgency if you will, it is unfortunate the series of events that took place. Obviously actions speak louder than words as we go about our day to day efforts. I can tell you a definitive continuity will take place moving forward, obviously that is what we require on our journey. No style points are needed.I, we look forward to Bud developing into that quintessential Steeler. I had to put him in a timeout obviously, but I never worry about in camp when tempers flare up,I don't live in my fears. I want structure without the field of structure. I can see very shortly number 48 being the lead dog if you will, but he will need a hot motor. Give us a blade of grass we will defend it, attack. But ultimately obviously the proof is in the putting. It's fundamental it isn't anything mystical. Obviously what he does in stadiums is going to be the litmus of where he is.

Fort is obviously just a camp body. Was only with the Pats two weeks and before that was on signed by Seahawks to be a FB. We're his 5th team in only a couple of seasons.

That's not what I took from the article/reports. I read them as Dupree was trying to get to Gilbert and struggling to break free of Harrison, who was restraining him. Not that Dupree was trying to fight Harrison also.

Tomlin on Dupree
I may be alone on this, but I absolutely love Tomlin's cryptic use of language. He's fine-tuned it over the years. I really enjoy his thought process and the way he puts his thoughts to words. There's a linguist buried deep inside that man's soul...

in the spirit of tomlin, I had to fix your quote for you :)

Just stay healthy is my concern. Too many key players in the NFL going down.

Are you kidding? That's the perfect Tomlin linebacker....

HO-HUM. If this is the worst news to come out of training camp - I'll take it

Timmons seems to be working out pretty well. And it appears that Shazier is on the upswing. Williams is a THUMPER and Spence is doing pretty damned well, past knee injury or not. Complaints?

Interesting that the Trib says McCullers didn't have a good practice and other sites say he blew up a couple of plays and at least once pushed two OL back into the pocket. Amazing how different sets of eyes see the same thing differently.

'Camp reports' by reporters are notoriously inaccurate - I never believe any of them

One other thing to keep in mind with these guys is they are like the 6 blind men and the elephant. Each one is describing the part of the elephant they are touching. In the case of the reporters if they see a guy doing poorly that is what they report, they may not see the rest of the things he does well that day. So like you mention no telling what will be reported or how accurate it will be.
