Pitt - Jax game thread

Landry has to play out of the shotgun and run his college offense. He looks good right now.

At least this will be the last we ever see that bum in a Steelers uniform. I hope he hangs on to that football.

Landry ends the game as he started it ... sucking.

Terrible frikkin pass by Jones...just awful!

Also, credit to JJ. His last two series have been pretty good. This last one is shaping up, too.

I take it back.

1:09 left ... time for some of that Landry Jones magic

Bwaaa Haaa Haaa Haa!

The bottom line is Laundry doesn't have the physical tools that wow you, doesn't have the mental acumen or football sense that makes his inaccurate throws worth tolerating, and frankly has never looked like any type of playmaker. 3 years in to this project its just time to move on. Use murphy as an emergency QB and find Bens protégé next season

Best offseason upgrade, Charlie Batch in place of Edmund Nelson.

He simply doesnt have the instincts to play QB in the NFL. Everything from the rush, to the coverage, to the receivers routes are just too fast for him.

His physical talent is fine, but he just cannot process the game at all.

Ok can we seriously not play Landry Jones again

Perhaps the biggest reason Jones will never be a solid NFL QB is his lack of arm strength! no velocity of his throws!

These guys have to practice with him. He's getting most of the snaps during practices with Ben getting a lot of rest, so it's not like the young guys are getting much help with a competent backup working.

Landry was not supposed to play the entire game, but Tomlin gave him EVERY opportunity to remain on the roster. He FAILED. Cut him tomorrow.

The guys behind Jones have yet to show us their ceiling. Jones has, and it is low. Time to move on.

I think he has good arm talent, but he throws like a ***** in games because he has no sense of where and how to throw it.

The guy is just a total train wreck in the pocket.

They would have been better off using that fourth round pick on a pack of jock straps or something.

Coates, Fogg, and First team offense. Only positives tonight. Also Holliman may just yet earn a spot on the practice squad.

Well a few thoughts from the game....

I wanna see more of Tyler Murphy....I think this kid has Randel El potential and better hands receiving.
Anthony Chickillo has some good potential
WTF do the Steelers do with Jarvis Jones....I really don't see any improvement from him at all. Seriously Harrison is our best OLB right now and it's not even close.
Shamarko looks lost out there.....I'm all for placing a call to Polamalu now so he can be ready opening day!
Landry Jones needs to get on with his life's work....he's not an NFL QB.
Bud Dupree didn't see much from him....hopefully he'll get up to speed soon
How good is Ben and the offense going to be this year? He should get serious consideration for league MVP this season.
Ryan Shazier is crazy fast! I will always wonder if he'd make a better safety than LB'er.

for those that watched how did shamarko play? tuitt? Mitchell? thank you in advance

Shazier, Goodwin. Also, the way I figure it, any time that Cortez Allen is in there and you're not seeing yellow flags, big gains or TDs it's a positive.

First of all, I'm not a big fan of Roethlisberger getting as much time off this summer as he has reportedly been getting. Guys like Peyton, Brady***', Brees and Rodgers basically have to be dragged away from practice reps, while Ben seems to embrace the vacation time.

You think the young receivers are at a disadvantage practicing at an inflated rate with Jones, imagine the regular season preparation of the defense. They must feel like the 1985 Bears practicing against that bum,
