All Hail the Big Man / Steeler Great / The Bus

Am I the only one that thinks they did a ****** job on his bust? Damn near every time you see him he has the same smile on his face and they couldn't replicate it....

Im really sad today. I feel like as I watched my most favorite player ever achieve the last exclusive milestone of his career we watched the door close on the game I know and love. With the emergence of the passing game, Goodell catering to fantasy football and Madden freaks, the feature/power back position is going the way of the dinosaur.

Thank you Jerome for all the memories. #firerogergoodell

THAT'S what it was?!! I was looking at the bust and it just didn't look like him ... I mean all the features were correct, but it didn't "convey" Jerome Bettis to me and I couldn't figure out why.

When they unveiled the bust, I was thinking "Who the **** is that?". I thought it was pretty bad.

There was no squinty eyes - they needed the squinty eyes

Way to go Jerome! You had a story book career and sacrificed your body for the team we all love. Way to go out on the top of the Superbowl podium. Class Act and Steeler for LIFE!!!!

Just got back from the big HOF moment last night. The Bus and Steeler Nation did themselves proud. Bettis was great and the overflow crowd was something to see and witness. My wife and I had waited till The Bus got in to visit the Hall and it was impressive. Hope all Black and Golders enjoyed themselves as much as we did. Had gone to training camp Thursday and thanks to Steelers Nation Unite had a wonderful experience, able to be on the sidelines to get great pictures, followed with autograph session with Gay and DeCastro and then dinner where they gave away some great gifts with a raffle for all attended. We also received a great hat celebrating ST Francis 50 years with the Steelers which I got signed By Rocky Blier who also gave a great talk to the audience. Great week ready for football to begin.

I've got my Jerome Bettis signed t-shirt framed, thanks Dave

WOW!!! What a night in Canton, OH. I expected to see the Steeler Nation represent but that was something else. Steeler fans as far as the eye can see. Something I will not soon forget. My favorite non-Steeler moment was definitely Junior Seau's daughter. I have to admit I teared up, very very emotional. Before the ceremony they were showing hi-lights on the screens of players and then the song Renegade came on and you would have thought we were at Heinz Field. They also played it one more time before they announced Jerome and once again the crowd was in a frenzy. My son was able to shake hands with Franco and my other son was next to Hines when he drove through the crowds on a golf cart. Chris Berman did good as emcee with acknowledging the Steeler fans. In fact when he came up to announce Jerome, he asked how many people came by plane?, train?, car? or BUS!!! Tim Brown wanted the Raider faithful to make some noise because "He knew that the Bus was going to blow the roof off the place" Dan Rooney got a nice standing ovation when he was announced. Even the HOF'ers acknowledged him (very well respected). Fran Tarkenton made a comment about Super Bowl IX. Roger Goodell would have been booed out of Ohio if he was there, the only time he was mentioned it was obvious how he is disliked. I forget whose hi-lights were being shown, maybe Will Shields, but he was shown blocking Ray Ray into the ground which got a loud applause from the towel waving fanatics.

Jerome's speech was great, acknowledging the people I think he should have and not forgetting anyone that stands out. He acknowledge Seau's daughter, his family, his hometown, ND, the Rams and most of all the Steelers, the fans, Faneca, Porter, Hines, Troy, Ben and Cowher.

Glad I went and could share it with my two oldest boys and brother.
