Number 36 on the Field. Number one in the hearts of all Steeler Fans everywhere

The Number 6 NFL all time rushing leader.

The guy played with so much heart. I loved watching him every week.
I hope some day I can come to love Bell the same way. But wow those are some big shoes to fill.

He's a philanthropist, husband and father.

He made Steeler Football exciting. He made me want to watch.

the wheels on the Bus go round & roundddddddddd

Definately a fan favorite. Many many many many great plays / memories. One of my favorites was his side high stepping down field after a "LEGITIMATE" big play. Kreider pancaking rayray so the "BUS" could score.......

Salute the nation

Im so happy to see this appreciation thread for my husband. I am so emotional today.

Hell yeah, congrats Jerome!! :Dunno03::HippoDance::rulez::MilkDance::SniffCoke::bday2::dancedude2::DanceFlash:

One of the great Steelers of all time. A fantastic show of support by Steelers fans in Canton and a cool moment when Bettis was introduced to the crowd. Steeler legend and now NFL Hall of Famer.

When I was going off to college my dad told me I don't have much to give you but my good name, don't mess it up. I hope I made you proud dad, GREAT moment

"And Ben Roethlisberger .... brother without you making that tackle. I still might be on the doorstep looking in. I owe you for life brother."

So, that answers the question of whether The Bus would acknowledge Ben and "The Tackle". The Bus was, is and always will be a class act.

A sea of Terrible Towels

Really were ppl debating this?

He could have thanked a lot of teammates including Porter and Hines more specifically too.

While VERY disappointed in lack of reaction for our next HOF player in Faneca, notice the Bus mentioned the guys he played with that will be nominated in coming years as well as Coach Cowher.

Although Woodson and Dawson were inducted; because Rod didn't play whole career with Steelers and Dawson was an OL; and neither won a Super Bowl for the Steelers.

Jerome represents the first player of the next wing for the Steelers -- and his induction means more -- like Mean Joe Greene was

Dejan had an article on his site about it and one of the local papers had an article too. They seemed to question whether Bettis would mention The Tackle and give Ben proper due. As for Faneca, Bettis spent the last week mentioning Faneca in just about every interview I saw on t.v. Specifically mentioned how Alan was deserving of induction and that he felt he gained most of his yards as a Steeler running through holes Faneca made for him.

Thank You Jerome Bettis for making Steeler Nation proud!

The Bus is truly a Steeler great and has represented us well.

No matter how the game has changed it's guys like Jerome that make us all remember why we are Steeler fans.

Gotta admit I got a little misty watching his speech. I thought using his Father's quote for his son was a great way to close his speech. Much love and appreciation for Jerome Bettis! He will always be one of my favorite players.

Great to see so many of his former team mates show up to support him. Some of the ones I seen were Ward, Randel El, Foote, Washington, Gildon, Lloyd, Haynes, Gibson. Sure there were more.

I've got my Jerome Bettis signed t-shirt framed, thanks Dave

Congrats Jerome. Well deserved. Always represented the team well on and off the field. If you would have had a qb earlier you would have a mitt full of rings to go with your yellow HOF jacket.
