It's all about the OL. There are no great plays you can call when your OL is getting whipped and you don't have multiple elite weapons to back off a defense.

Max needs to start. It may have been a mistake to flip Fautanu to LT.

Rodgers missed a few plays but it was a no win situation. The only QB who could have done something for the steelers today is Josh Allen.

They need Pittman back. DK is a limited use WR. He has straight line speed but he's not a fluid athlete. Slant, post, fade, go. Pittman needs to do all of the other routes then mix in Bernard and Wilson.

Until the OL comes together, they need to be primarily 2 TE.

Dan Moore looks like Joe Thomas compared to the steelers OT play since he left. That's why he got paid. Even a mediocre OT is in high demand.

Omar has made awful decisions after awful decision and every year he is GM is 2 more that we aren’t a contender. Needs to go after we go 6-11. The ****** thing about this year is that Mason will replace Rodgers once he gets hurt and take snaps away from our potential 2027 starter. This game really ******* ruined my (false) hope for this season.

Watt still playing at another level. Herbig with a couple big hits and nice punch out fumble. Highsmith was pretty quiet minus the offsides penalty.

Queen with a nice pick. Wilson had an up and down game.

Brisker hurt already. Story of his career.

Today probably helped JPJ contract situation.

This all starts at the line and we are getting roughed up on both sides.

He is already signed. He just has to get "healthy".

Rodgers isn't very good even when he has time to throw. He is looking pretty washed through two weeks and ran himself into at least two of the sacks today (including the fumble).

He has missed some easy throws to guys that are open. Just over-throwing them. Rudy could have done this for us this season.

Has Rodgers been great? No, but Im surprised by the amount of negativity towards him given how bad the OL has been and his top WR almost literally not being able to catch right now.

How good would he have looked in his prime if Jordy Nelson or Davonte Adams were dropping 3-4 balls a game?

Our QBs basically have to be perfect to win. All QBs miss throws, but they usually get opportunities to make them up. We don't have that luxury with the lack of a running game and instant pressure on a lot of drop backs. Rodgers has not been great, but between the line allowing sacks / getting penalties, the drops, and WRs not getting open it makes it near impossible for him or any QB.

What a horrible game. D is pretty bad, but the O is horrendous. The OL sucks. DK has more drops this season than catches. McCarthy's play calling has been terrible. Can they bench DK next week? Not realistically.

The only bright spot on O was Bernard with 4 catches in a short period. He was wide open on another play, and Rodgers threw it to Skworonek for almost no gain.

They have no chance against the Bungholes, and the Clowns might beat them to put them at 1-3 and an early death watch for the season, but that's why they play the games.

I'd start Hoffman immediately at RG for sure, and give Nacho a chance to prove himself at the first time Cook gets cooked next game

The offensive transition might take some time, as McCarthy's first seasons in Green Bay and Dallas were not particularly great.

It's worth noting that he was not the coach when the Steelers drafted or brought in most of the WRs and OL on the roster, so it might take a year or two to shape the personnel how he wants it.

Broderick Jones is already gone, and it's looking as if the likes of Metcalf and Fautanu might not be far behind.

The problem is the Khan-man is still running the office.

At least Bernard is showing a lot of potential so far, and we'll see big Max soon enough.

I understand wanting to see Allar or Howard in a regular season game, and we might see it by December if the season completely goes off the rails, but as long as the season is competitive, Rodgers is probably the best option.

Whatever offense McCarthy and Rodgers put out there was a rough watch.

Oline was non existent. Andersen got abused all game.


That said, I remember a 2008 Steelers squad looking absolutely awful vs the Eagles early in the season.

Rodgers isn't the problem. The announcers showed a stat in the first half that AR was being pressured on over 50% of his dropbacks. I believe they said it was the worst of his time with the Steelers. The OL has been terrible with the pressures and a complete lack of a run game. Dunkers supposedly was good on run plays but needed to work on his pass protection. Anderson is horrible at RG. I'd give Dunkers a shot in the not-too-distant future.

So many layers to this onion. I think Fautanu will be ok at LT unless Mad Max can make the flip. McCormick isn’t as good at LG as he was on the right side. Funny how that flipping changes you.

There are so many variable moves here. Leave Troy at LT, plant Brock at LG, move McCormick back to RG and Mad Max at RT. Anderson isn’t even an effective speed bump. He’s a quality backup but not a starter. I'm not saying Hoffman is anything like a stud LG/RG, if the biggest problem is communicating, then put the vet in to help. They have a failing o-line and they need help now. Maybe they should call JG Wentworth.

Thinking this might be our year to get some high draft picks. It's got to happen sooner or later. I'd prefer a year or two of suck and then get back to being a dominant SB contender again for a stretch rather than continuous "meh" seasons.

I’m wishing he would have retired. His presence is hindering the advancement of the younger developing QBs. Rudy is a qaulity back up. When Aaaa-Ron gets benched, Rudy should only start a game or two with Will being moved up and into starting role.

None of us know how much DK is doing extra to help fix his issues on the field of play. Clearly the results are not cohesive
To what is needed. Germie Should be getting #2 reps while Pittman is down and being featured way more.

This unit by far is most in need of coaching up. The OL is NOT football dumb, I think it’s a question of them all being on the same page. McCarthy took credit for a lot of the problem being on him, the coaching. He indicated he wasn’t satified with the week of practices up to the game and the coaching needed to do a better job.

I also think Maxi will be full-time starter moving forward.
Also Note: Fautanu is playing with an ankle problem, right after game he had a “boot” put on.

The defense played good enough for a win had they gotten Offensive support. Yes they can do better and as time / games cummulate, I think we will see better level of play.

Many are thinking JPJ would be instant fix and happy roses from there on out. I’m not so sure JPJ can single handedly become the savior some think. He can definitely be an up-grade and contributer, but needs game time / speed to get back to his level of play. (I’d take that in a heart-beat)

Is this motivation on a contract move……. Highly doubt anything happen except he plays on the rookie contract and fulfills his contractual duties. Negotiations are over till end of season (supposedly), but also take note that this is a great way for Joey to show how good he really is, sort of a “make” his arguement moment.

I fully agree that this team will go as far as the trenches will take us. I also remember that this is a whole new coaching staff and scheme to the entire team. Also note they the Cultural change is very significant and they don’t seem to be playing just for a non-losing season.

It takes time to get the culture / mental / player / scheme / coaching to synchronize, don’t forget the owner is a factor as well.

I completely agree, however, think the Steelers defense has been playing pretty solid football. Giving up 26 points in two games while creating four turnovers is doing your part, especially when the offense hasn’t exactly been giving them a whole lot of breathing room.

That said, Sunday feels like the real test. Joe Burrow is a different animal, and if Pittsburgh is going to live in zone against him with Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins running around out there, he’s plenty capable of finding the soft spots and carving it up.

Alot of people are regurgitating about Aaron being too old to be back there. Even yesterday, he was making throws that should've been caught, he did have a couple of over throws. His arm talent is better than anyones out there. When Rudy was there, on that 3rd down pass, he barely had time to escape. Now putting Howard or Allar back there-unless they need to be there would be insane.

I don’t get the D hate. We held the number 4 offense last year to 13 points. The defense isn’t a problem. The offense is the entire problem.
