Week 2 at Cheatriots Game Day Thread

This Offensive line is truly OFFENSIVE!

I knew this would be a tough game to win on the road. Especially since NE lost a tough game on the road against Seattle.

They had 10 or 11 days to prepare.

We eked out a win against a poor Falcons team but the chickens came home to roost today. I'm surprised Aaron Rodgers didn't get carted off the field. He took a lot of hits.

I know you shouldn't over react after 2 games but with a Bengals game coming up next week, unless the line blocking improves dramatically we will suffer a worse defeat next week.

UGH!!!!!!!!!

PS. JPJ playing would not have affected the outcome one bit. Is there a serviceable O lineman available that we could trade evenly for JPJ?

Our best WR? LMAO! DeKaylin SUCKS! $132 Million signing.......**** IT bring back Dionte Johnson & Chase Claypool. Hell I'd take Hines Ward & AB right now at their current ages before we keep DK! Heck I'd even take Juju Smith Schuster right now....yeah he can't run...that's ok the Steelers don't throw the ball more than 10 yards anyway....he can at least catch it!

We just faced the #5 defense. The Bungles are # 21. If we can't move the ball against them we are in deep poo.

The announcers were making fun of them on the broadcast because Jaylen was hit at or behind the line of scrimmage in 10 out of 10 of his carries last week. That was awful. OL couldn't stop a pack of angry girl scouts,zero blitz pickup and DK Metcalf is stealing money. Hes a no.3,and I've seen 3,s play better. For a big guy he gets handled easy.
 
What shocked me there were no alarms going off at camp over this line… there was no effort to get the young guys into the lineup they were in fact bragging they were “redshirting” dunker and mad max! Cook and Anderson aren’t under contract for next year and the plan was to have the second year guys ready… this kind of works in Green Bay but we ain’t the pack! If a 1st rd pick and a 3rd round pick can’t beat out a undrafted free agent and a journeyman you ain’t drafting or coaching right!!!

The alarms were Cook and Anderson were starters. Fautanu was penalized in camp a ton and the line didn't look good in the preseason. I think there were a lot of warning signs. Combined with too many pass plays with a QB who is not doing anything to help the line play, it's the perfect storm for terrible offensive production right now.

Our offensive line play has been bad for years! You get what you pay for… the line improved under munch and instead of promoting him to offensive cord or at least paying him they let him go and replaced him with a nobody journeyman and the line reverted bad to its ****** former self.

Not this time . Back to the lab er wherever the new meeting place is. Perhaps the nearest dumpster.

An offensive garbage of a game. The only offense was me watching it, I took plenty of offense doing just that. The Cook & Anderson experiment is done. Actually not even sure captain checkdown isn’t done himself.

Game 2 and they are already testing my patience…
 
Last year in camp it was obvious cook was the best left tackle but they started jones cuz he was the draft pick… jones screwed around hurt himself and cook stepped in and stabilized the line… so what do Steelers do? They move to a spot he’s never played and start him but tell him we have no long term plans for you… typical Steelers and they wonder why the line sucks!

Let's put a cherry on this cake. They move Fautanu from RT where his shorter arms and slower feet don't matter as much to LT where they are a hinderance. The guy who actually has prototypical LT size and movement? They put him at RT (second string) and call it a "redshirt" year.
 
There is no skill position guy to fear on the offense. Its hard to judge an OL when the defense has absolutely no one to even remotely fear.
 
Art Rooney II had a chance to reset and modernize this team but instead he hired McCarthy the retread- probably because he didn’t want to spend what it would take to hire the staff someone who comes from the McVay tree or similar would demand.

Every time we we look the same as we’ve looked for a decade under Tomlin its now 100% on Rooney

The defense looks a bit better but they should considering all the money spent on them.

The only hope is the Mcarthy gets this offenses act together. If this offense doesn’t improve dramatically by week 6 we are totally screwed for a long time because there’s no way Rooney admits his mistake and fires McCarthy before his contract expires

Cook didnt have a good camp and got cut.. he was brought back midseason..
