37 snaps for a receiver like Roman Wilson

3 snaps for Germie Bernard

Gtfoh with that insane shyte

DK is a high level WR2 with stone hands
Pittman a decent-good WR2
Wilson a career disappointment with no business as the 3rd option

And the 2nd rounder ya traded up for gets 3 effin snaps!!!

That’s just silly

I’d get it if the WR room was awesome, or even good…but these 3 are in front of him and he gets 3 snaps…c’mon

WTF are we even doing here?

I know it’s early but develop a receiver that may actually have a ceiling high enough to be considered HLA

Agreed..that seemed awfully strange..

Only two things that I could think of this ridiculously low snap count is:

We don’t know what happened during practices leading up to the game.

Also, could it possibly be a case of lighting a fire under the rookies backside?

The offensive coordinator said it was a result of how the game played out, which seems to me like an answer of “don’t worry about it …it’s for us to know and you guys to figure out..’

Will be interesting to see how the game “plays out” in week two..

McCarthyism.

Add in that Roman”s route seemed just to draw his coverage away from the play or was a deep ball.

Speed may have been the differential motivation.

I’ve been waiting for someone to come up with “McCarthyism”.
I suppose it’s too early for that.

For you youngsters who may be scratching their heads:
McCarthyism lasted from 1950 to 1954, as part of a broader anti-communist era spanning roughly from 1947 to 1959. [1, 2]

PLEASE NO POLITICS! ITS MEANT TO BE HUMOROUS!

OR

It could be tied to Mock the Tomlinism(s) modified into McCarthy's name............................... Just outside the box thinking on my part..............

When can I expect the check in the mail ?:giggle:

I use to write Tomlin's speeches and quit due to him owing me money.

He kept saying the check was in the mail...........................

I told him I don't live in Florida......

Yep, Tomlinisms is exactly where I derived McCarthyism from…then took it in a different direction.

I think the reason Germie is being left out is one Aaron Rodgers. He doesn't trust rookie receivers and I was concerned that this could happen.
McCarthy is going to trust Rodgers so unless things change, I wouldn’t expect much of Germie.
That’s too bad, I really wanted to see him more.
If Wilson doesn’t take a big step then there is that possibility of seeing Germie.

When drafted I was hoping Roman would become Hines Ward v2.0.

Hines was a seek out and destroy blocking WR with great hands. They are rare.
Hines was 6’0” 195 when drafted, but had bulked up to 205.

Wilson is 6’0 193

Heck Rodgers even said out loud who is going to get his attention. He barely even trusts Pittman because he hasn't played with him oh and he didn't go to Yellowstone with the boys. How about Rodgers learning to work with his artillery quickly? What a joke.

Roman played pretty well. He almost came down with the pass in the end zone, even though the defender mugged him well before the ball got there. It was one of several obvious DPI's they didn't call. Even the 2nd OPI on DK was ridiculous. The first one on DK was a good call, but definitely not the 2nd one.

I'd like to see Bernard, but Roman seems to have WR3 locked up for now.

going vs a better D rather this swing passes to warren go 4 or 5 wide and hit bernard on a slant or a crosser have him and Wilson both cross hit the open one both are 4.3 guys.

That needs to balance out over the next few weeks, particularly with Bernard playing fairly well in the preseason.

If that type of performance “locks it up” the coaching staff needs higher expectations

That was a meh performance from what I saw, which is better than 90% of his previous performances but damn…left a LOT to be desired.

The WR room in general looked like dookie

Roman Wilson is on the verge of becoming a quality NFL Receiver. Steelers fans should be excited because in his third year he's finally looking comfortable out there. The kid has great hands and his route running and understanding of the offense has really improved. He reminds me of another kid a while ago with tremendous talent but was often overlooked in the first few years of his career but he went on to become one of the best WR's in the league....Tyreek Hill. I think Roman Wilson's arrow is pointing way up! Just wait and see!
