So many questions heading into the opener:

Will the OL that hasn’t had much live action look decent or will they look disjointed?

Will they be able to hold vs what was a pretty solid pass rush last season for the Falcons?

Will the Falcons pass rush even be good missing two key pieces?

How will the tandem of RBs play out?

Will the middle of the field finally be exploited?

Will Old Man Rodgers look even older yet?

Who steps up from the WR group?

How will the revamped secondary look?

Can the D handle Tua, Robinson, Pitts and London?

Will Watt return closer to his pre lung puncture form?

Do the new contract rotational pieces Herbig/Benton start earning that coin?

Does Stefanski still know how to school the Steelers defense?

What actually will McCarthy’s system look like in function?

So many questions…..

Hope the answers are good ones

Damn I’m ready for some real football
+3.5 at home tells me we could be in for a close one as the starters finally take the field together in live action.

These are the same questions, IMO. Shades was as predictable as a eight year old girl who doesn't get her way. MM will probably be different. He will at least not be last year's version of Tomlin. Things have to be different. Stefanski will have to figure things out for once.

Good questions. I don't think Rodgers will look older...yet. It's September. Now at about Week 9?

Your first question regarding the OL will probably answer most of the rest, if they struggle which I’m guessing they will, the game will be up for grabs in the fourth quarter. Extremely concerned with Cook at RT and the rest becoming acclimated to their new positions. Pass protection, running the ball, eliminating mental penalties, this will determine ball control and obviously points on the board. If they don’t give the defense some breathers, especially most of the guys first real action, I imagine fatigue is going to set in, forecast of 82 with humidity in the mid60s to low 70s. I realize this goes both ways but I’d rather see a team from the south visit here in December than early September regardless of if they practice indoors or out.

How do we keep the riff raff out on game days???

So many questions heading into the opener:

Always buy my Peyote, there is no substitute.

Will the Falcons pass rush even be good missing two key pieces?

McCarthy did good by switching all the right to the left side and IT WAS EARLY IN CAMP and not a re-active last minute move.
Falcons have new parts as well, but defense developed / gels faster than OL.
Our guys will do ok and get better as the game / season progresses.

How will the tandem of RBs play out?

I have a “gut” feeling they will do better than if last year’s OC was calling the plays.
We have to see MM in action, but I’m pretty sure the Falcons won’t be able to T-up knowing the plays.

Will the middle of the field finally be exploited?

YES

Will Old Man Rodgers look even older yet?

Not until later in the year, between week 6 and week 9 he will start to show…..

Who steps up from the WR group?

Germie & Roman will create the most surprise, but Metcalf now having legit other WRs, he should surprise us.

How will the revamped secondary look?

Can the D handle Tua, Robinson, Pitts and London?

Will Watt return closer to his pre lung puncture form?

Do the new contract rotational pieces Herbig/Benton start earning that coin?

I think this D as a whole will be better and better as the year progresses.
…..Can Tua / Robinson / Pitts / London handle the Steelers pass rush…. That’s the real question.
We all want WATT to return to form, but I don’t think he will set sack record anymore. If he can get to 12-15 sack, I will consider that a win.
…..The rotational and new movement of players combined with the blitz should help all “D” players. Both Benton and Herbig had better feel a little squeeze as their ne contract merit it.

Does Stefanski still know how to school the Steelers defense?

What actually will McCarthy’s system look like in function?

Both will be in a chess match and this year we have a chance with our grand-master calling the plays.

So many questions…..

Hope the answers are good ones

GREAT Post Fiji Mariner and I’m actually excited about football way more than last year at this time.

Genuine concern here. I think the left side will settle in, I just doubt the overall talent on the right side.

Will they be able to hold vs what was a pretty solid pass rush last season for the Falcons?
Will the Falcons pass rush even be good missing two key pieces?
This will make a difference, but back to the first question--there will be growing pains along the OL and we have a backup-caliber player starting at RT, possibly RG as well.

How will the tandem of RBs play out?
Warren should get more carries, but I think Dowdle will be McCarthy's guy.

Will the middle of the field finally be exploited?
Rodgers will have to break some of his own trends for this to occur. McCarthy will want it to happen and design plays for it, though.

Will Old Man Rodgers look even older yet?
I actually think he'll look about the same. As the season goes on, he really won't want to get hit and that will become more of an issue than his legs or arm.

Who steps up from the WR group?
Pittman if he can be the volume receiver who moves the chains. Of the young guys, Bernard.

How will the revamped secondary look?
I hope good. The cornerback depth chart, when healthy, looks to be the best it's been in years. Safety is a ?

Can the D handle Tua, Robinson, Pitts and London?
Make Tua beat you. Robinson against this defense is a matchup nightmare, he's so good.

Will Watt return closer to his pre lung puncture form?
Watt needs 14+ sacks IMO.

Do the new contract rotational pieces Herbig/Benton start earning that coin?
Yes. Benton was pretty good late last season and he's being paid to rush the QB. Herbig should get more snaps. I'm more concerned if Harmon takes a step forward. The Steelers need him to be the face of the DL when Heyward retires.

Does Stefanski still know how to school the Steelers defense?
Isn't this the guy who beat the Steelers in the playoffs while coaching from his basement?

What actually will McCarthy’s system look like in function?
It'll look like an offensive system that wants to put up a lot of points, but may not have the talent to. McCarthy is not going to win ugly games the same way Tomlin did.

Steelers 100 Falcons 0

So many questions heading into the opener:

Will the OL that hasn’t had much live action look decent or will they look disjointed? I think the meat of the schedule is later, which is good because the OLine will have initial growing pains.

Will they be able to hold vs what was a pretty solid pass rush last season for the Falcons? I think they should chip the TEs on the right.

Will the Falcons pass rush even be good missing two key pieces? A question that the game will answer for better or worse.

How will the tandem of RBs play out? I think they will ride the hot hand . (that is what she said)

Will the middle of the field finally be exploited? One man enter one man leave, so yes I believe.

Will Old Man Rodgers look even older yet? Old man Rodgers had an arm E I E I 😳

Who steps up from the WR group? Pitt-is your-man.

How will the revamped secondary look? Like it is one high end safety short.

Can the D handle Tua, Robinson, Pitts and London? Three yes and a maybe.

Will Watt return closer to his pre lung puncture form? That is a $112 million dollar question.

Do the new contract rotational pieces Herbig/Benton start earning that coin? That coin kicks in next year, so will their playing time. The production I suspect will follow suit.

Does Stefanski still know how to school the Steelers defense? I bet you a round of Minecraft that the D will have a better showing.

What actually will McCarthy’s system look like in function? Like X and O capable .

So many questions….. and some answers.

Hope the answers are good ones perhaps for the most part

The Dirty birds will cover and at times our face will want to follow suit.
