Haven't seen this, if here, MERG...................

Combatants Bud Dupree.........vs..........Mr. Jones

I see dupree working into the line up, weather by skill or injury. as increase playing time, so comes sack time. He should get around 6.5 total sack. Just my prediction. Jarvis ill get a lot of playing time and oppertunities, but his count will be down. I think around 5 will be his final. OBVIOUSLY, more for either would be great. Thoughts???

Your optimism is amazing. I don't know how you do it. However, I'm taking the under. Your numbers are a little too homer-ish for me.

I'll take the over on Jarvis Jones
and the under on Dupree unless someone gets injured early (Jarvis, Harrison, Moats)

10 sacks a piece ........our bookends will eclipse 20 combined. :)

Is that asking for to much?

Man if Uncle JJ only gets 5 sacks we're ******. We need more production from him than that. I hope the hell you're wrong Iron.

LOOK, i do hope for more, but while thinking of this, this morning while frying bacon, it's what I came up with. Uncle Jarvis definately should and is expected for more sacks, but I have to start somewhere and that is the number. REMEMBER, I'm only talking of these two. Harrison is in the next head to head sack equation.

5 sounds like a lot for jarvis, I have serious doubts about him.

Bud being the rook, probably won't get much starting time until later in the season but I can still see him getting 5 or 6 sacks. I'll go with 6 for Bud.

Jones will probably get 8 sacks, give or take. If he gets below 6, injured or not, he will be in serious jeopardy of not making the team in 2016,

I felt a little conservative on the Jarvis number (5). Last year he was hurt and a rookie to boot (not the joey porter boot). TDX27 may be closer at 8, but i was trying to stir the pot, so to speak, between bud and uncle. Might be right place right time sacks, but they will get some.....

How about Harrison gets more than both combined?

Jones has a very low sack total relative to his opportunities. He's too slow to beat tackles with a speed rush, and not big or strong enough to out muscle them on a bull rush. I think his effort is good, which indicates he might be a maxed out player. This is a make or break year for him. I'd expect say 4 sacks if he starts 8 games or more.

Dupree has never had more than 7.5 sacks a season in 4 years of college football. While I love his run defense, and flexibility to play 3-4, 4-3, or 4 man DL in the nickel or dime, he has a lot to learn and can not rely on physical tools alone as he did in college as NFL tackles are much better. I'd guess 5-6 sacks for Dupree if he starts 8 games or more.

Harrison needs to stay healthy and produce. Without him, we could have the worst pass rush in the league.

This is hard to "predict" as we don't know the defensive scheme that will be employed by our new DC - Coach Butler...

That being said - I will lean to the over for Uncle Jarvis, as the game has already "slowed down" for him - so, I'll reach somewhere between 8 - 10 sacks. If "Buddy Row" gets on the field and turns into a gem on the R - I'll assume he'll get 7 in his first season - safe bet.

As I said, these projections will all depend on the scheme(s) that are deployed.

Well, way to commit to your prediction........... LOL
It dores hing on scheme and of coarse oppertunitires. Health is directly related to opertunities. I would hope, with the slowing down of the game, Uncle Jarvis gets more. It's a wait and see thingy. Now Bud, I think is just finding his stregnth. Even as a rookie, I see the 6. Next year he will be 10+.

I would be happy if Bud catches on quick and inside Shazier produces.......

Something tells me Jarvis is gong to follow suit and disappoint once again.............

It'd be nice if Jarvis shows that he is a player and gets around 8.0 sacks this year with Harrison adding another 5.0-6.0 from the right side. When it comes to Dupree, if they use him like they used Woodley during his rookie year, around 4.0 sacks would be in his target range.

Your probablu roght. I may haver over estimated Bud's sack total BUT I was so happy we actually got a guy that looks to be strong. I hope he over plays reality and still gets the 6.5
