Broderick Jones is being traded to the Cowboys

I think this is more cash to throw at JPJ...

They’re still a restructured contract or two away from having JPJ money. They’re gonna have to kick more money down the road if they wanna resign him before the season starts.

The cap is an illusion tho, so Khan can pay him top dollar should they choose to, just gonna take a few moves.

The browns figured out there's a limit to the illusion after giving that fat contract to the massage molester

People can say what they will about the Cowboys with Jerry Jones running things, but they have a pretty strong reputation when it comes to developing OL.

True, but I think the guy who played a pretty big role in developing their OL is now coaching the Steelers.

I think the Dolphins top 5 or 6 cap hits for the season no longer play for the team.

Been saying it for years now, draft picks especially premium picks are a crap shoot. Sometimes you hit on them other times you just don’t.
What was once a staple for this franchise recognizing top talent in the early rounds and developing those players has vanished.
Broderick Jones was a raw talent with loads of potential coming from Georgia with not a lot of playing experience. They moved up to take him thinking they could tap into that potential but were unable to develop him. Have to put that on the scouts, Omar Kahn, Tomlin, and Pat Meyer.
I absolutely hate using my premium picks on potential and developmental players. I’d much prefer selecting a player with a solid track record.
Again, it’s not an exact science and you just don’t know.
The Steelers realized they had to move on from Broderick and give him another opportunity and try and recoup whatever they could for him.
I’m more concerned with the drafting process and player evaluation in recent years. These first and second round players simply have to develop and be the cornerstones of your roster.
We cannot continue to draft poorly with these premium picks.
I’m holding out hope for the last three first round picks from 23 to 26. We need these to be home runs.

10% of first round picks is not impressive.

Development players as a #1 pick is not impressive.

Leadership.

Or maybe Jerry Jones has a pretty strong reputation when it comes to having players on the roster who share his name.

I think we'll be quite happy that we didn't get Lemonade in the first round this year; but I didn't sleep in a Holiday Inn last night so...

Well the Stains don’t have an illusionist in their front office…those dumazz, knuckle draggers offered a fully guaranteed contract that should have never been

Ya can’t fix stupid and the Stains are daf

Yeah from what Ive seen coming out of Philly, Lemon has not been impressive. We might have dodged a bullet!

You are looking as him being worth the 1st round pick, that never justified to date.

You have to look at his value as of today, the day the trade was made.

His value was definitely not 1st round value, I wasn’t so sure we could get anything but a 5th or 6th at this stage of his ability / injury recovery.

A NICE win for the Steelers.!!!

It’s not a win when your first round pick busts and we’ve been having a lot of those the past decade and a half.

Keeping him on your roster and getting nothing is not a win either, jeepers creepers.......... read the whole post.

A little bit of something beats a whole lot of nothing............................... even in hamburger language.

It isn't at all. But I'm glad they recognized it and moved on...and got something in return. Also, the Steelers at times seemed to do things with a little hubris. If some of the lack of success of first rounders knocks that down a peg, they'll be better off moving forward.
