Broderick Jones is being traded to the Cowboys

The front office has been a disaster with their first round picks for 10 years now.
More like the last 15 years and the guys they traded up for have been busts.

2026 Max Iheanachor
2025 Derrick Harmon
2024 Troy Fautanu
2023 Broderick Jones
2022 Kenny Pickett
2021 Najee Harris
2020 Traded for Minkah Fitzpatrick
2019 Devin Bush
2018 Terrell Edmunds
2017 TJ Watt
2016 Artie Burns
2015 Bud Dupree
2014 Ryan Shazier
2013 Jarvis Jones
2012 David DeCastro

An injury bust if we want to label it correctly. Not unlike Bush.
Well not really. Im mean they were both ****** and they both got hurt. Ive never felt Bush's problems were related to his knee. Dude sought out blocks to get erased with. As far as Broderick I don't believe their unwillingness to pick up the 5th year option was his injury. I wouldn't classify him as hot garbage. But he wasn't good.

Are the Cowboys drunk? Why the **** you would trade for Broderick Jones? DId they see him play in the pre-season? What makes them think he can be a worthwhile tackle in the NFL? He has literally put nothing on tape that shows the kid can start in this league during the pre-season!

He had a significant injury there is no sidestepping that. We can presume all we want, when a player deals with something significant there is an unknown element attached. You act like neither had ok moments they did. Just not what was wanted obviously. Both cases injuries impacted.

Hard to evaluate Fautanu & Harmon but looking at those picks.....

I'd say Tomlin was 3 for 11 on First Rounders from 2012 - 2023. That's pretty ******* terrible IMHO! And you wonder why Tomlin kept his job for as long as he did. That's just terrible!

Jones had a significant injury but he was anything but ok prior to that. Nice to wipe the slate of him.

How is Broderick Jones and a 4th for a 3rd and 6th in any way impressive? He was our first round pick just three years ago. This front office is garbage.

He’s a tackle in a contract year that will either be
A) washed from that freak injury
B) a guy seeking a large contract if still any juice left

Getting something in return for a guy likely to be nothing more than depth or cut is a solid move at this point.

Something is better than nothing…but he still has to pass a physical

He had ok moments at LT just not stud moments. I notice when fans get down on a player they tend to deflate their play . I thought he was at a crossroad that could have gone either way that out of position and injury helped influence…

I think he will pass their physical just will need to gain some more weight and maybe more ceiling limited now…

Wish the best for the young man in his endeavors, except if he’s playing them Steelers…then a turnstile impersonation would be nice

That was a freak injury and he’s a good kid

He also averaged .60 sacks allowed in the last two seasons and was never dominant in the run game.

These rational takes are refreshing

Bu hey, people
Like to be dramatic

I dug into his rookie year.

2023: Jones started 11 games, all at right tackle. His final PFF grade was 60.7. He allowed 4 sacks and 29 pressures. PFF had him at 65.2 after Week 14, and he showed some improvement as the season went along.

Unfortunately he regressed a little each year. Then the injury.

As I said he had moments of ok. But you obviously want more than ok. Then he regressed ( ****** coaching) Then the injury..

I am not convinced we can say the kid got a fair shake being jerked around.

We had some evidence of other players having similar Steelers issues then going elsewhere and shining.

I am just thankful that we have a new regime it was way past time and I am stoked to see the future..

I was intrigued to see if the new coaching regime could reclaim him but I am ok with getting what we can and moving on as well. He may well become a long term starter and many will then cry about him leaving.

My point is he was our first round pick only three years ago and this is how it turns out. The front office is absolute garbage at drafting and that is a major problem.

We have had some damn good drafts the last few years when you look at all rounds. The current regime isn’t the same as what you are judging. Let’s give them kudos for making some lemonande out of some lemons.

Are the Cowboys drunk? Why the **** you would trade for Broderick Jones? DId they see him play in the pre-season? What makes them think he can be a worthwhile tackle in the NFL? He has literally put nothing on tape that shows the kid can start in this league during the pre-season!

Cowboys FO hasn't exactly been known for their smarts in recent years.

If that’s all they can get they should have kept him for depth this year and let him walk. Cook is no sure thing. I assume Max starts? That’s no sure thing either

And of course the pick of Jones is another massive bust by Khan. Then we have Khan’s draft day embarrassment thinking he had the WR before he did on national TV, in Pittsburgh

Khan should be on notice and on the chopping block if this roster doesn’t preform this year, he’s done nothing of any value but save Rooney money leaving unused cap space in 2024 and 2025

Maybe they feel like they owe us for the GP trade last year
