Here is a very good DK Daily Shot about the JPJ situation / contract talks and availability to the team.

A little surprised but Asaunte Samuels is said to be the best player at training camp, oh how I hope this is right.

Also the J1Q about 1/2 way is a good take on next year's QB scenario.






This gives a little real-time where-a-bouts of the JPJ, both physical and monetary.

Thing is this. There is a real number here. And the Steelers leverage really kicks in now. He wants to play in Pittsburgh. And he sure as hell doesn't want to play this season with no contract. And him and his dad know they got three weeks to get a deal done.

Agree here Sask, but also don’t like the “Dad” being involved. It reminds to much of the Sander’s kid and his Dad.

I wonder how much direct negotiation Sr. Has as opposed to Jr.‘a agent and having to tell Sr. To shut the **** up ???

The Steelers are not new to this negotiation and deadline stuff, they’ve practiced it many a times

I think when the smoke clears and the ray of sunshine developed they come out with a fair deal.

It may seem a little high today, but by year 3, it will be a bargain.

I definitely want more, but reality is yoiu have to find a trade partner that is a little desperate.

I question the 1 & 2, but definately would be a go if possible.

But at same time Sr. Wants him to be a Steeler. So there is that. Sr. Is a bit of an attention *****. Everywhere else he might as well be Jerry Porter 🤣
 
I hear what DK is saying about Asante Samuel, but Porter is at a different level, IMO. He's been very good and getting better each season and he has elite measurables. I'm hoping the long-term plan is to have JPJ and Dean outside with Everette developing enough to take over for Dean in a couple of seasons.
 
I would be seriously listening to offers at this point. Minimum worth is a 1st and I only trade for a 1st without a kicker to 💩 teams you know likely Will draft top 10. Outside that I need a 1 and conditional pick that can be worth another 1st if he or the team does x, y or z. Imo 30+ million for a CB is insane.
