My paternal great-grandfather fought the Nazis, and sheltered Jews in the county under his jurisdiction in the mid 40s. There's a statue in his honor standing in current-day Slovakia. My paternal grandfather, both of my uncles, my father, and my entire family fought communist Soviet oppression in the 1950s, taking to the streets with Molotov cocktails in hand, to battle Soviet tanks rumbling down the streets of Budapest. Be it Fascism in WWII, or Communism in the 50s and 60s, we have spent our entire lives resisting totalitarianism, be it from the left or the right. Hence my sustained disdain for Trump and his ideas of absolute, top-down power in government. So yeah, it's beyond precious to be constantly insulted on this board by a bunch of whiny, pathetic, weekend-warrior Trump supporters calling me a communist, of all things. I just laugh it off.
