maybe he was given a choice: get right on some other issues, like this one, or you get Epsteined.
Cynic that I am, I don't believe these announcements have anything to do with the state of the earth's climate, but are used for network ratings, social media clicks and as an excuse for more government funding that will do absolutely nothing other than to line the pockets of the alarmists.Currently a significant part of Australia has temperatures in the mid 40's Celsius. Climate change alarmists are out in force, despite the fact most of the temperature announcements are followed by the words "highest since....", not "highest on record" or "highest ever".
That's why I pointed out that the fact the temperatures are highest since.... shows there have been higher temperatures in the past, yet the climate change alarmists use the current high temps. as evidence of global warming. II isn't actually the media using these temps to push the climate change agenda, its the commenters on articles and the "influencers". Also the media I don't think are doing it for ratings. In this case I think the media are by and large creating these articles to let people know that these extremely high temps (and associated fire danger) are coming so they can be prepared. There are currently several major bushfires burning in the very areas that are getting these extreme temperatures that are going to be made more intense and potentially spread over a larger area due to the weather conditions.Cynic that I am, I don't believe these announcements have anything to do with the state of the earth's climate, but are used for network ratings, social media clicks and as an excuse for more government funding that will do absolutely nothing other than to line the pockets of the alarmists.

Nothing a few electric cars can't fix.Part II: Absolutely nothing to see here. Climate change is a liberal myth concocted by communists & the Chinese to make American right-wing conservatives look bad.
"Historic 2026 European wildfires have burned over 434K hectares—double the average and outpacing last year’s record. Fueled by intense heatwaves and droughts, mega-fires in France, Spain, Portugal, and Greece have forced 330K+ evacuations. Climate change is warming Europe twice as fast as the global average, driving extreme atmospheric dryness and transforming dense winter growth into brittle fuel. The fires are burning so fiercely they are creating their own "fire-driven thunderclouds" (pyrocumulonimbus) and pushing far into traditionally humid Atlantic coastal zones."

Burn, baby, burn.Nothing a few electric cars can't fix.
Sorry about the fires. California had drought and fires last year, this year it's been rain and floods. Yes, the climate changes. All the time.
What science am I ignoring Tibs?Feel free to ignore the science and bury your head all you want, OFTB. Nobody will hold it against you, besides perhaps your kids and grandkids.![]()
What science am I ignoring Tibs?
The science of climate change revolves around the greenhouse effect, a well-established physical principle where specific atmospheric gases trap heat to regulate Earth's temperature. While natural factors like orbital shifts and volcanic eruptions have historical impacts, extensive data confirms that human activities—predominantly the burning of fossil fuels—are the primary driver of the rapid warming observed since the industrial era.
I don't deny the planet is slowly warming Tibs, what many of us have argued is that the alarmism over the effects of that are overblown. Now science seems to be admitting that they were just trying to scare us with the worst case scenarios. This science, OFTB:

Every single weather event is constantly attributed to it, and if you do a deep dive into the science on many of them you'll find that most of it says climate change may be a factor, not that it's the definitive cause. I'm told the hurricanes that hit the US two years ago were because of climate change, whoops we didn't have any last year. Did it get suddenly cooler? El Ninos and La Ninas are weather phenomena that have been around for centuries and have a lot more impact on this stuff.
I also don't have a problem with attempts to curb emissions, to the extent that they're practical and don't cause significant economic and other harm.
I've been on Steeler Nation since my 23 year old was 2, lol. We were told we'd probably be extinct 4 years from now. That seems unlikely, barring getting struck by a massive meteor or the sun exploding or something. The climate has always changed, for millions of years. Humans will adapt, maybe something will happen that we can't adapt to, I just don't think we have as much control over that as you do.
I'd go get some water, extra even, for that plant.Absolutely nothing to see here. Climate change is a liberal myth concocted by communists & the Chinese to make American right-wing conservatives look bad.
