Although I have felt Cam’s mouth has been a little to large, that doesn’t take away his qaulity of play.

Take out his injury year and he has been pretty steady with small drop off.

DK Dailey Shot Steelers has a pretty good clip on Cam.

The HOF topic is mine, does he have enough acolades to be in ????

I don’t think he currently would make it.

Walter Payton MOY is not enough,

Warren Sapp garnered his analyst job into HOF ticket, so nothing is im,possible.

What say you, pro-con-neutral - dancing…………….???

I think he'll make it, especially if he plays long enough to hit 100 sacks. Not only has he been a terrific run defender, but his pass rush totals with 92 sacks is right on the mark for the average HOF DT. He's also been at or near the best at his position (top 3) for nearly a decade. IMO, Heyward and Watt will both make the HOF without ever winning a playoff game.

He's been solid for a long time. Pretty durable. That might not be enough. I don't know. But people like him so he will probably get in just because of that.

Great post 448,

I have a little negative bias towards him in the fact of how he acted in the contract negotiations and latest dispute.

Also to note that a 3/4 DT gets way less glory reconition than the 4 - DL. (AAron Smith can attest to that)

Sadly, I think you are right on the playoff win(s) total.

Let’s HOPE those PO wins start to accumulate starting this season.

So by most measurable metrics he is somewhere between the 22nd and 16th best DT of all time.. he has 5 first team all pros and a second team ... six first teamers is an absolute lock...
he is the most bubble HOF guy ever... he has the stats and accolades to get in, but not overwhelmingly... he lacks the championships, but has a great rep with the media.. i think he gets in through media voting..

I think he’s done enough to make it but not on the first ballot.
He’s been consistent for a long time. Anchored this DL and been dominant for for most of his career.
I think he makes it in on his second or third try.

Id put him the second most dominant interior DL of era behind Aaron Donald. That puts him in. 8 sacks this year (unlikely) would put him at 100 club which is monster for interior DL.

I'd put Hines Ward and L.C.Greenwood in before him

This, but don’t take away anything from Cam……….

This season could put him in, provided he can live up to his claims.

EDIT: A pro-Bowl

Without any post season success he is not in imho

He’s one of the brightest shining stars when placed in the HOM (Hall of Mediocrity)

He’s even upper echelon in the HOG (Hall of good)

Hall of fame?!?!?
Playoffs!!!! Playoffs!!!!! (In best Mora voice)
Lmfao- that career is not HOF worthy yet

A guy like LC oughta make it in LONG before a guy like Cam…just my two cents

I completely agree about the contract talk. I also always thought he was a poor leader in terms of making excuses and not holding his teammates accountable on the field--not like the leaders we had under LeBeau. However, none of that will matter when it comes to HOF voting.

The Walter Payton Man of the Year and a VERY positive relationship with the media will certainly help overcome the failures in the postseason. I also think Tomlin will be a HOF lock, so it'd be hard to hold the lack of postseason success against guys like Heyward and Watt and not against Tomlin.

I always felt Cam was a “yes” man for the Tomlin. Someone who didn’t speak out against company policy.

As Cowher drafted players left, that full team leadership value left.

I listened to a “clip” yesterday of Jack Lambert talking about leadership. He said he never wanted to belittle / hurt / embarrass anyone as a player or a man, but if said player wasn’t doing their job to full effort ( mistakes can be made, but effort had to be 100%), he barked loudly (his words were way better than mine).

Tomlin has 2- SB appearances with one win & the non-losing season streak. He will deffinately get in.

That DPOY that was stolen by helmet swinger, was critical to TJ’s legacy. I think he makes it in, but that 2nd DPOY would cement it way better.

Cam is still a little “Bubbling”, but a solid year of living up to his claims…….. will help “pop” the bubble.

LC doesnt get in for political reasons... he dicked over the NFLs player contract system and the league carries a grudge a long time

Greenwood>Heyward. No? If LC isn't in.....Cam definitely doesn't get in. Facts are facts!!!

Totally think Greenwood should be in, it’s a travesty that he isn’t.

One can think and say what ever is fact or fiction, but the NFL decides what will happen.

Who counts the votes, not just HOF but also the year end accolades / pro-bowl ???

It’s not a 3rd party neutral source.

TJ had better “official” stats across the board, but the NFL still chose to give that DPOY to helmet swinger.

AP voters are not immune to anything, regardless how they vote.

In the end, fact or fiction………….. it’s the NFL who will make the final decision……. GREED Machine.!!!

Where would Warren Sapp fit into all this ????

I think his “Talking Head” stint had a bigger impact on him being inducted than his actual play.

Cam Heyward is a HOF player. Unquestionably. Doesn't mean someone else shouldn't be in. Im saying Cam should.

Cam’s HOF comp is Andy Dalton imho
Good, but disappears when it matters
If Cam is in on his body of work already I’d be shocked, but heck it is participation trophy generation nowadays

Is Andy Dalton a HOFer? Maybe I have too high of standards

Watt will get in for sure. Would be nice to have a renaissance year to cement it. The true diehards on here hope they don’t take playoff games into consideration. Because they know both players did absolutely ****-all when it came to playoff time. Zilch.

If Cam could live up to his hype, get about 8 1/2 -10 sacks, make the pro-bowl all in this season…………….

I think it would go a long way for his case of HOF worthy.

That 100 sacks club could be his key.
