How can you not like this coaching staff.......?

I dont think you need to say that to a player at this level. That said Id like anyone to go back and watch that play again and tell me how on earth that was a Seattle TD.
Hint: Jesse James non score vs. Pats and Troy Polamalu rolling int vs. Colts in playoffs.
PS if we are going to define a player by one idiotic play.......Plaxico Burress' first nfl catch.

I agree with you for the most part except that special teams returners a lot of the times are guys who are running backs and have no experience in that skill coming out of college.

If I'm the coach I'm yelling it in the guys ear every time he has to go out there. That play can be a game changing single play solely in the hands of an inexperienced rookie. You can't have a guy unfocused and forgetting if it's a punt or kickoff.

I wasn't crazy about the McCarthy hire, as there were probably others I liked better, but I do like the change-up in coaching staff/philosophy and I like the thought of coaching and adjusting to players strengths. I think we may see things we like out of one or two players this year that we've been down on in the past (like maybe Queen won't be so frustrating).

That is the whole point of the thread, with this new staff we will see things differently than in the past.

My hope is we see a way more competent offensive / defensive scheme, and better placement for players to succeed.

Exciting times ahead.

It was the rigid commitment to the stupid that killed me. I mean, who as a professional doesn't self evaluate and adjust the weaknesses to improve? Isn't that a basic career skill? Particularly at $1 million a month. Come on! I could have been stubborn and lame for a LOT less, saving the Rooney's millions in the mire of mediocracy.

Queen was put in a position to fail many times by the Steelers scheme.

He even made comments eluding to the fact.

It will be interesting to see if he blossoms in a less predictable scheme that may even play to his strengths.

ADD in TJ Watt to that same predicament.

Some of TJ’s may have been some what self-inflicted, but coaching allowed it.

It couldn’t hurt, having one of the greatest ever defensive minded coaches to consult with.

I do know that even a ounce or two of change from the O’l scheme, will result in the opposition having to at least scheme and acknowledge a discipline for it.

Yeah be taken hostage by well past their prime QBs that sucked last year and paying top dollar for antique defensive players is really innovative. Surprised more teams aren’t trying for this approach.
