*QB pecking order today was:

Rodgers
Howard
Rudolph
Allar

*Oline pecking order was:

LT Troy Fautanu
LG Mason McCormick
C Zach Frazier
RG Spencer Anderson (Dunker & Hoffman behind him)
RT Dylan Cook (Mad max behind him)

( I believe everyone minus Anderson in college played these positions)

* All rookies are now signed minus Allar

Howard getting QB2 snaps early is intriguing. I know not to read too much into it, but typically they would give the veteran these snaps.

Dunker has the clearest pathway to a starting role. I just don't think Spencer Anderson is very good in terms of being a starter. Solid backup.

I'm interested to see if Cook can sustain his level of play. I have my doubts.

*shrug* I think he's telling the truth. I watched Howard live a couple of times and I was impressed both times. The Howard and Allar picks are very similar to me: they both have strengths and obvious weaknesses. Allar has the better arm, and Howard has the better head. One thing they have in common is they will both try to truck a dude to get a first down. Lots of Bradshaw, Brister, Ben traits in these young guns. Maybe mostly Brister but we'll see.

He didn't sustain it last year. Started off strong, until Cleveland. Was abused so bad they moved Washington to his side early in the second quarter. The more tape he put out, the more opponents took advantage.

Maybe moving to the right side will help, but I have my doubts he starts all year, might not even make it to the regular season...

I agree, I was thinking in terms of training camp.

What if our head coaching wasnt lying or blowing smoke up our collective ***** by telling us how much he liked the pick of will howard last year?
Im going to use conjecture. I'm assuming Rodgers likes what Howard brings to the table and his football IQ. That probably came up in the many discussions with McCarthy prior to Rodgers signing.

agree, just remembering McCarthy saying he would have picked Howard earlier than 6th.
I think last year's draft, for QBs, was quite odd.

I won't go into the deep dive but, statistically, 2 QBs went extremely late based on their stats and success that year...

I think Howard, this year, goes in round 3 just like Allar. JMO.

"Obviously just inflating Howard's value so we can try to trade him before outright cutting him."

I don't recall the Cleveland game and cook being abused. He did not play well vs the Texans, but he wasn't the worst either. The whole line stunk. I thought cook played well in general and was an upgrade. I'm not totally sold on cook, but i think he will be above avg in whatever role they use him

I’m hoping he(cook) doesn’t as that would mean our rookie has progressed mightily.

By George, great Scott,……………….. I do believe you have it right.!!

Winning a national championship should have netted an earlier draft round for him (Howard).

Barney he can turn that last year debacle into hard nose #2 / starter,………… soon.

I thought 4. Was definitely surprised at the 6th. I wondered if scheme chased them off? I though some of it was the lack of Qb need for teams..

You mean the Steelers haven't cut Howard yet? Installing him at QB2 and Allar at QB4 is clearly some type of ploy.
