So this might be the best oline the Steelers have had in a lot of years if people are in the right position.

The only 2 that are set is
Center and right guard.

after that Who knows might happen.
Troy to LT?
Max to RT?
Jones?
Dunker?

Multiple opportunities.

I say let training camp figure it out.
But if we want to hedge our bets I would say sign joel botino and pencil him in at LG.

Excited to see how this turns out.

Nothing against Cook or Anderson, but build this OL and let them grow together.

LT: Fautanu - a lot of experience at LT in college and I think he may have the most upside of any player on the OL
LG: Dunker - although he played RT, I think this is the goal. If he's at least rookie-level Mason McCormick, I start him week 1.
C: Frazier - a lock and maybe due for his first Pro Bowl season.
RG: McCormick - although he has college experience at LG, he's settled in as the starter at RG and is pretty good.
RT: Iheachor - like Dunker, I'm going to with the rookie.

I agree SF 448 , my question is this. How good is Mason McCormick? I havent looked into his pff stats or anythying. Just wondering..

IF jones and cook come to camp and are competing and doing great,,, maybe fautanu to RG,, or LG,, leave dunker on Right.

What is Mason McCormick's PFF grade?

a 71.1

Mason McCormick is an offensive guard for the Pittsburgh Steelers who earned a 71.1 overall PFF grade in the 2025 season, 21st among 81 qualified offensive guards. He played 1,031 offensive snaps on the season. His PFF pass-blocking grade of 71.6 ranked 16th among 81 qualified offensive guards.

Broderick is the wild card if healthy I see only a competition out of the gates for the LG position.

Both rookies have starting potential but they will have to earn early starts. One will be adjusting from T to G switching sides and the other will be continuing ongoing T development. As I think both have high upsides that doesn’t necessarily translate to starting day 1.

I personally would sign Botino for 1 year. He could be insurance at LG on case the rookie needs a year in the NFL before starting

the interesting part is that McCormick played LG at college, keep that in mind now with a new coaching staff

They have three possibilities for the G spot , possibly 4 if you include the first rounder.

Not sure they would bring anyone else in…

Solid enough to start.

Jones will be lucky to be competing in camp. The easy answer with no worrying abouit cook being any good , or jones neck.

Is to move fautanu to LT , Mccormick, Spencer anderson at LG , Dunker RG / ieachor at RT,, but then ohlook we have 2 rookies on right side,,

Coaches are smart and new O line coach,, they will figure it out.

They will microscope in for sure. In general you have to be careful moving multiple parts around. Possibly disrupting cohesion . I thought the right side was pretty solid overall and middle…

His grading is not bad for a rookie coming out of a FCS program..,

I’m looking forward to watching him this year…: I’m expecting good things man..

I mentioned this possibility in another post. Fautanu and McCormick can move to their natural positions on the left side, and Iheanachor and Duggar can play their natural positions on the right.

Okay, so here's the first domino with the OL. When do we hear Fautanu is moving to the left side? If they don't, what's the point having two first-round picks playing the same position?

I think when Max proves starter ready they will move Troy over.

I feel we have a way better OL coach who will have greater bonafide in-put to that decision.

If our old OL coach (Pat Meyer) was still here, i”d question that call.

Nothing is guaranteed, but this new coaching staff seems to have a better handle on identifying and promoting developement.

Time will tell.

My gut instinct is they will put the work in. More importantly will put the right work in. If you are using a pitchfork to aerate your yard you can get the job done eventually. But not as thoroughly efficient. The early vibe is these guys will work hard and smart at coaching them up.

I think it will be refreshing schematically to what we will see on the field. That part of the new regime has my interest.

i saw where Max said he has been told he'll be at RT.

which means Fautanu will move to LT, I'd assume.
Does that put Dunker at LG, or do they put McCormick at LG? I doubt we'd want two rookies playing next to each other.

I’d have to wait and see what the coach’s think, they are there day to day.

I have way more confidence in this OL coach not just because of his merit, but also because his last name isn’t Meyer.

While I’m just a lowlife fan,I’ve never understood the musical chairs on the OLine. Don’t forget, Jones was a LT his whole career. Until they threw him in at RT. Fautanu played his whole career at LT ……until they threw him into RT. I won’t even get into the Previous Center Debacle. Why not just draft a RT. Or a LT. Sure it’s nice in a pinch/injury situation. But if you’ve played one position your entire career, why make him change his first year at the NFL.

I’ve never played OLine in my life……but for those that have is it really that simple just to switch sides?

Have the new guys checked the OL for anyone with one shorter leg?

In the past, such physical anomalies have to dramatic position and career shifts for the entire OL.

Yeah, I don't get it either. Why not draft a LB to play QB? It's nuts.
