Virtually the ONLY smart take this time of year is wait and see, as the draft is nowhere near an exact science.I'm waiting to pass judgment. Gotta replace Jones and Seaumalo ... gotta start someplace.
As far as WRs go, the stillers usually find a diamond in the rough. See: AB, Randle El, Emmanuel Sanders, Pickens....
Everyone is entitled to their opinion. Most aren't saying he will be a bust. I would say the most negative things said is he is a bit of a reach at 21 and a project. Can't argue there's no validity in those opinions...He also did well vs the top edge taken in the draft with the 2nd pick
two sides to every coin
I'm not saying he'll be great, simply saying all these arm chair GMs with their wooden nickel takes are effin absurd.
How many of these morons spewing ever watched an entire game of his in college?
Like all the picks for every team it will take years before they can accurately be graded
Must be a **** ton of time travelers on this board racing back from the future with all their "knowledge"
LMFAO
Like this every draft
Word on the street is his head is too big!!!
Yikes, the sky is falling
Happy day 2 of the draft
I predict tomorrow many panties will be pissed again
If Jones was an outstanding pick we would not be having this conversation.Really? in three years he's fleeced the Bears that ended up giving them JPJ who is one of the best CB's in the league. Jones was an outstanding pick, the previous coaching staff set him back playing musical chairs with his position. Herbig, Sawyer, Washington, Benton, Black...all solid players coming into their own. You could argue that WR2 took way too damn long to acquire but who knows what all happened and perhaps it was out of his control?
One other point; GM's used to be able to forecast draft classes but NIL is screwing that up royally. Some college players are earning more than an NFL rookie contract and return to play for ant team willing to shell out the money. Khan sitting there with 12 draft picks this year and 9 next year shows, I believe, he was looking to trade up to select a QB this year, which was supposed to be QB heavy class of first rounders, which it did not, obviously. Now they're projecting next years QB class to be a very good one but will it?
I like what he's doing, personally and with Big Mike having a say in terms of personnel, I'm looking forward to who Khan grabs in the draft and free agency as he builds this new team.
Joey Porter Jr says hi.If Jones was an outstanding pick we would not be having this conversation.
If Jones was an outstanding pick Dylan Cook would not have outplayed him.
Kahn has not drafted a single skill position contributor outside of Washington. His 3rd round WR and RB have done zero.
He paid a #2 WR like a top 5 guy, simultaneously trading away a top 5 guy who was playing for peanuts.
He has drafted talent in the trenches, hopefully Max continues that trend.
Not confidence inspiring knowing the plan failed because kahn was not smart enough to go up and get the guy they wanted.
If the Steelers are trying to convince Rodgers to play and are supposedly in the win now mode last night was an epic fail.
You get played by the Eagles and then you pass up the next best WR for a project Tackle??
Clown show
Skylar Bell & Jakobi Lane toniteI'm waiting to pass judgment. Gotta replace Jones and Seaumalo ... gotta start someplace.

You really are on a mission, throwing the word embarrassment for something where we actually ended up dodging a retard bullet.Man the NY Post is ripping the Steelers now. We are a national embarrassment. Get Rooney out the door. He can take Khan with him.
"A guy that's basically been playing football for 2 years" is just a bullshit statement. You don't take the 7th lineman off the board in the 1st rd. And you certainly don't use a 1st rd pick on a guy that's basically been playing football for 2 years.
You are missing the fact that Roman Wilson sucks.Story seems to be the Steelers wanted WR Lemon. I just don't get that one.
I'm not a scout so I'll start with that but Lemon is 5-11, 190 and runs a 4.5 40 speed. If they want that type of player, that is Roman Wilson size and Wilson is faster. Why have they refused to give him a shot but then look to use a first round pick to draft his duplicate???? Personally, I'm glad we didn't get Lemon because I don't see him as the difference maker.
What am i missing?
Yeah, Ford, I'm not sure what sort of axe you are grinding here. I absolutely agree that Lemon seems to be a head case. He certainly sounds like one. All that means is that Khan, et al have not learned their lesson that retard WRs are a locker room cancer who won't finish their rookie contracts in Pittsburgh. We got damn lucky. You really are on a mission, throwing the word embarrassment for something where we actually ended up dodging a retard bullet.
Even if they would have wanted to trade up? How we know the cowgirls wanted to do business with his former HC ?
I believe that you're mistaken, because Max did not allow a sack in 2025. And, in fact, he gave up a grand total of 3 QB hurries in 484 pass-blocking snaps last season. What was the time from snap to throw? If you watch the entire game you see AZ State went in with a quick one read game plan. If the QB had to hold the ball longer Iheanachor got beat every time. And he didn't just line up with Bailey every play. Romello Heights got a half a sack off him I believe.
So just for the record.......the total opposite of what they've had for at least the last 8 years or more? They did that to almost everyone. Not writing the story based on that single page. Not in that offensive scheme. We have new more experienced coaches a new scheme. 4 coaches who ca coach OLine and a head coach who wants to develop guys. I am good with where the line is headed.
How do we really know that? You are missing the fact that Roman Wilson sucks.
I'll take an athletic, very large Tackle over a small and slow receiver any day of the week.Lemon is small and slow, and can't talk right. It was a blessing in disguise that Philly jumped them. The OT may turn out to be great. He has a high ceiling but a low floor. Ultimately, none of it matters in the big picture if they don't find a quarterback. It's honestly impossible for me to get excited or mad either way given that situation

Someone asked me about him before the draft and my answer was simple. I feel if you go OL in the first you better have a year one starter. I don't think he is there. He might be 2-3 years away. Which would mean we are paying him to develop just to hopefully become good right before he cashes in on free agency. Just not an ideal situation. I hope he proves me wrong and is a day one starter and has a pro bowl or hall of fame career. That would be great!
Joey Porter Jr says hi.
Last draft was not a good WR one, 2026 is. This is the year to get a WR
Khan should know whether or not a guy is available before calling them. He’s made himself look stupid and the franchise unprofessional. He’s just assumed oh the Cowboys are going Defence with their pick so I’ll call the top rated guy on our board. How the hell is it even a thought to call someone when the previous pick hasn’t even been announced? And all of this talk about 'Khan got played' by the Eagles/Boys is just stupid. He's supposed to somehow know that there's a deal coming with two other teams? Please explain how he would be able to obtain this knowledge. And after he gains the knowledge he's to somehow magically invent another team who wants to trade their pick to us? Because of the knowledge that we don't have? I do not think Khan is a great GM, but this criticism is nonsense. I don't care who's saying it, it's stupid.
I don’t care who they were going to pick. The fact that everyone saw us get played like a fiddle and has went from a side draft story to a headline in a national paper is an embarrassment. If you don’t think it is good for you. And how many times? 2. Unless you count this post then 3.You really are on a mission, throwing the word embarrassment for something where we actually ended up dodging a retard bullet.
How many posts in less than 24 hours have you made with the word embarrassment? Is embarrassing indeed, especially from someone that doesn't think the pick was actually bad.
Did you really like Lemon That much? Besides, you can't control what other teams do, **** the Cowboys and eagles, we get who's available in the board, if they didn't trade up is because they had similar value on both guys, they got the one left.
Even if they would have wanted to trade up? How we know the cowgirls wanted to do business with his former HC ?
One of the better OT's who went earlier. Max Whatshisname is a project.Who would you have traded up with? Looking at players picked by each team ahead of the Steelers I think the only team, apart from Dallas, ahead of the Steelers that may have considered trading down to 21 would have been Minnesota.
Well, I did not watch every game but I did watch the Texas Tech game. It wasn't Romello it was Anthony Holmes Jr. #33. Looks to be a whole sack not a half.I believe that you're mistaken, because Max did not allow a sack in 2025. And, in fact, he gave up a grand total of 3 QB hurries in 484 pass-blocking snaps last season.
Not bad for a "raw" "project" "reach" who's "basically been playing football for 2 years," as some here have said.
all righty then. I don't see it as getting played but let's agree to disagree and not make an embarassment of ourselves, God forbid the NY post makes an article about us.I don’t care who they were going to pick. The fact that everyone saw us get played like a fiddle and has went from a side draft story to a headline in a national paper is an embarrassment. If you don’t think it is good for you. Next play he didn't give up the sack on Bailey but the LT was one on one and got beat. Max gets a phenomenal chip from a teammate and if not for the fact the LT gave up the sack he would have. And that's with help.
If you also watch you will see he is a very good run blocker. I am not concerned there. It is his pass blocking that needs work. I hope he can develop but I just feel a bit early for a project.
