Everyone is entitled to their opinion. Most aren't saying he will be a bust. I would say the most negative things said is he is a bit of a reach at 21 and a project. Can't argue there's no validity in those opinions...

Really? in three years he's fleeced the Bears that ended up giving them JPJ who is one of the best CB's in the league. Jones was an outstanding pick, the previous coaching staff set him back playing musical chairs with his position. Herbig, Sawyer, Washington, Benton, Black...all solid players coming into their own. You could argue that WR2 took way too damn long to acquire but who knows what all happened and perhaps it was out of his control?

One other point; GM's used to be able to forecast draft classes but NIL is screwing that up royally. Some college players are earning more than an NFL rookie contract and return to play for ant team willing to shell out the money. Khan sitting there with 12 draft picks this year and 9 next year shows, I believe, he was looking to trade up to select a QB this year, which was supposed to be QB heavy class of first rounders, which it did not, obviously. Now they're projecting next years QB class to be a very good one but will it?

I like what he's doing, personally and with Big Mike having a say in terms of personnel, I'm looking forward to who Khan grabs in the draft and free agency as he builds this new team.

You don't take the 7th lineman off the board in the 1st rd. And you certainly don't use a 1st rd pick on a guy that's basically been playing football for 2 years.

Max played JUCO for two years, and then started 5 games for Arizona State in 2023. He started 26 more games in 2024/25. By my math, that's 3 years at the Power-4 level...and 12 more starts than Broderick Jones had in college.

I'm not a scout so I'll start with that but Lemon is 5-11, 190 and runs a 4.5 40 speed. If they want that type of player, that is Roman Wilson size and Wilson is faster. Why have they refused to give him a shot but then look to use a first round pick to draft his duplicate???? Personally, I'm glad we didn't get Lemon because I don't see him as the difference maker.

Yeah, Ford, I'm not sure what sort of axe you are grinding here. I absolutely agree that Lemon seems to be a head case. He certainly sounds like one. All that means is that Khan, et al have not learned their lesson that retard WRs are a locker room cancer who won't finish their rookie contracts in Pittsburgh. We got damn lucky.

What was the time from snap to throw? If you watch the entire game you see AZ State went in with a quick one read game plan. If the QB had to hold the ball longer Iheanachor got beat every time. And he didn't just line up with Bailey every play. Romello Heights got a half a sack off him I believe.

I believe that you're mistaken, because Max did not allow a sack in 2025. And, in fact, he gave up a grand total of 3 QB hurries in 484 pass-blocking snaps last season.

I watched every snap Iheanachor played that game. You would be incorrect. ASU had by my count five pass plays that took longer than 3 seconds.

And he didn't just line up with Bailey every play. Romello Heights got a half a sack off him I believe.

I think that Iheanachor was not tagged with the half-sack but you are right, he was beaten on a speed rush one time and the ASU QB was sacked but not by his guy.

So he played against two NFL-worthy edge guys in Bailey and Height, the former the 2nd best player in the draft, and gave up pressure on two plays. Okay.

Someone asked me about him before the draft and my answer was simple. I feel if you go OL in the first you better have a year one starter. I don't think he is there. He might be 2-3 years away. Which would mean we are paying him to develop just to hopefully become good right before he cashes in on free agency. Just not an ideal situation. I hope he proves me wrong and is a day one starter and has a pro bowl or hall of fame career. That would be great!

His weakness is run blocking, something that can be developed pretty quickly. Ideally the RT should be a good run blocker but that weakness can be minimized simply by putting Washington to his right.

Iheanachor was absolutely not the Steelers' #1 choice and they wanted to trade down before getting him. You and I agree on those points. But Iheanachor has elite tools with his size, reach, footwork, and quickness and is a much better NFL prospect than Caleb Lomu, who went 10 picks later.

I look at it this way. We drafted an OT a year early, so that we can focus on QB next year. If he needs a year of pro coaching, he gets it this year. His ceiling is really high.

Next year Jones (if he ever plays again) and Cook will be FAs. It would be a need next year, too. What may seem like a stupid or luxury pick this year has a chance to turn out looking pretty good a year or two down the road. Fill other needs this year, get the QB next year.

Khan should know whether or not a guy is available before calling them. He’s made himself look stupid and the franchise unprofessional. He’s just assumed oh the Cowboys are going Defence with their pick so I’ll call the top rated guy on our board. How the hell is it even a thought to call someone when the previous pick hasn’t even been announced?

Who would you have traded up with? Looking at players picked by each team ahead of the Steelers I think the only team, apart from Dallas, ahead of the Steelers that may have considered trading down to 21 would have been Minnesota.
