Happy Burgh Centric Draft Day everyone

Are they short
Or with small hands
Do they piss off the fansss
Are they making one sick
As that’s not who I’d pickkkk
Will it be
make me
so mad Nationnnn
What a revolting situation
As I as i
wouldn’t pick him
Er
I should have been
the GM

That sounded like Pearl Jam's "Bugs" in my head

Speaking of draft weekend in Pittsburgh… I’m hearing from friends and family back in the Burgh, that hotel and Airbnb facilities are seeing low demand for the weekend…
Those of you in Western Pennsylvania, is that what you’re hearing also?

Maybe people realize the chaos this event may bring. I was always good navigating to the east out of Pittsburgh and not bad going north. If I had to drive south I'd end up going in circles. Guessing the crowds will get smaller and smaller after Thursday night.

Probably because of the outrageous prices. Hyatt place Pittsburgh north shore wants $1008 per night triple A discount. 😅

They can stick that right up their arse with DIC’s mechanical spiked poker 2026 insert and twist deluxe edition.

I read over a month ago home and apartment short term rentals weren’t getting the expected interest from visitors wanting to be fleeced. You’ll see prices heading down as well as hotels in the suburbs that have vacancies.

As has been noted, Pittsburgh’s location makes it ideal for fans to make the drive from numerous NFL cities. Even if it’s five hours away, they can visit for a day, take in the day’s event and head home. Those commuters can always stop about an hour out of town and get a reasonable rate before continuing home the following day. Pack the cooler with Sammie’s and beverage of choice.

I was going to say the exact same thing, so many cities are with in driving distance, those people can stay an hour from the city and not get gouged, then just uber into town.
There are rooms by the airport for 185/night.

Draught, not overdraft.

Trying to get an Uber or Lyft will be an outrageously priced shithow Thursday.

Looks like public transit access from all sides into town

I just hope everything goes really well for the city…

This is a huge undertaking for the city of Pittsburgh to take on…

Those of us that have lived there understand that, but those have never lived there or visited, might not totally get what I’m saying.

I just want my hometown thst I was born and lived in until I was 25 years old, put on a great show for the country..

My friend wants to go early Thursday with an Uber. Said he will pay for it. I was like okkkkkkk. Careful what you wish for. 😅

I heard there is a guy sailing south right now who claims ownership of " The Confluence" for the DRAFT ..... let's call him Mr CONFLUENCE ...
He is planning to blockade the Allegheny with his luxury Yacht the "SS10" while his ally DIC blockades the Monongahela with his Kayak
Steeler Nation Board Members will be granted safe passage to the POINT where they can partake in the SLASH DRAUGHT Experience .... among other debaucheries

Super Bowl-level pricing, which is insane. So many either misread or were mislead by the scale of this event.

For some reason, people actually thought 500,000-800,000 people from outside the city were coming per day for the draft. Seriously. Pittsburgh doesn't have nearly that many hotels yet there was belief the city would be a disaster.

The NFL always inflates these numbers. Last year, they claimed 600,000 for Green Bay with 205,000 for the first night. I watched the draft Saturday and it looked like there was barely anyone there. They may have had 400,000 over three days. Pittsburgh will have similar numbers with 150,000-200,000 for the first night--similar to each night of the Taylor Swift. It was incredibly easy to navigate the city that weekend and I expect it will be far easier than the NIMBYs will have you believe.

Every year I tell myself thst I am not going to watch the draft. Every year I watch the draft. Then I tell myself I won't do it next year. And then I do.
And then I tell myself this is the last year. Except it isn't.

Well 2026. This will be the last year I watch the entire draft. Just 1 more year. And done.

I could not imagine actually going to the draft and acting like an idiot when the Steelers draft someone I have never heard of, Like we just found the missing piece to the dynasty. Found in the 6th round.
