Who is your "no, just no" guy in the 1st round?

Just say no to Lemon

Ya ain’t even making lemonade with that Lemon

Dude brings a type of crazy reminiscent of if AB and GP had a lil receiver baby.

Had enough of SN pissing and moaning of a much more subdued brand of crazy in the past with its receivers. That dude couldn’t even get through the most basic of short interviews without the bat crap crazy spewing everywhere.

Hard pass…dude looks like a 6th rounder with those mental faculties.

Not a hard no but Freeling or Proctor would both have me a bit uneasy for different reasons.

Have a feeling DL should be the pick at this point unless something falls in their lap

I would say any WR. Deep class but nothing top end and worth a first.

I've been telling this to every Steeler draftnik on Twitter but they're locked in. They have their top 2 locked in for years for a lot of $$$ and people want to draft a "#1 WR".

Meanwhile, the entire left side of the OL is a question mark.

Mike McCarthy uses 11 personnel, so they need a third WR. It may not be in the first round, but they'll draft at least one on day 1 or 2. They've brought in 6 WRs for top-30 visits and the combine visits were also WR heavy. Offensive line hasn't been a focus so far, though you know Weidl won't ignore the position.

Here are his reception leaders in Dallas (bold are WR receptions). Dallas' WR3 was on par with the Steelers WR2 in recent years.

Ty Simpson. Would this guy even start at Bama this year? Maybe not. He couldn't beat out Jalen Milroe. He's undersized at 6'1 and 211. His arm is on the weak side. He has accuracy issues and he didn't look good under pressure.

Kalen Deboer has a very QB friendly offense. Let's compare his last 2 QBs

Both played 15 games
Simpson 65% 3567 yards 28 TD 5 INT
Penix 65% 4903 yards 36 TD 11 INT

74% of Simpson's throws were 5 yards or less. He needs a clean pocket because if he can't step into a throw with perfect mechanics, it's not getting there.

Those pimping him point out that he played through injury to explain away his second half of the season decline. That's just another negative to me. He's small, and prone to get banged up. If playing a bit hurt means he has a noodle arm then no thanks. He'll be just fine so long as he doesn't get hit.

Lots of draft gurus love him. Yeah, most of them are ex-backup QBs. They recognize their own.

Let's not spend a 1st rounder on another guy whose ceiling is to be the 15th best QB in the NFL if he's lucky.
