Iran's supreme leader is ‘unconscious’ - Time​

The Times reports that Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei is unconscious and receiving treatment in the city of Qom, citing a US–Israeli intelligence memo shared with Arab allies.

According to the report, the memo states that Khamenei is currently unable to govern and is undergoing treatment in the religious center south of Tehran.

The newspaper said the information has been circulated among regional partners and may represent the first indication of Khamenei’s location since the war began.

Khamenei has not appeared publicly since the conflict between Iran, the United States and Israel erupted more than five weeks ago.

US Strikes Strategic Kharg Island, Bridge Hours Before Trump Deadline​

Explosions have been reported on Kharg Island, an important oil export hub near the Strait of Hormuz, on Tuesday, according to semi-official Iranian news agency Mehr. The strikes come hours before the deadline set by US President Donald Trump for Tehran to reach a ceasefire deal with Washington and to open the Strait of Hormuz.

According to the Wall Street Journal, the US struck more than 50 targets on Kharg Island.

Trump warned that failure to comply will result in a simultaneous, massive bombing campaign aimed at "each and every one" of Iran's electric generating plants and bridges.

Meanwhile, Axios has reported, citing a senior US official, that the American military conducted strikes on military targets on the island.

US strikes on Iran's Kharg Island do not represent a change in American strategy, US Vice President JD Vance said on Tuesday. A US official separately told Reuters the additional strikes on military targets did not impact oil infrastructure.

Military conflicts are never pretty, and I can tell you from personal experience that it's demoralizing to those in the field to go into battle with one arm tied behind your back.
No one wants collateral damage, and we can debate the need to start this action in the first place, but now that we are there, we have to finish it.

I agree we need to finish it, but at what cost. Sure we could blow up the whole country, but do we want to resort to that? I just don't see Iran rolling over without a full scale invasion and I doubt anyone wants that
