Mock draft

I like what you did here. Huge upside with Banks and I've read a lot of analysts who think Scott is a perfect fit for the Steelers.
Banks would be a welcome addition to the defensive line and learn under Cam Heyward.

I think Scott might be the best defensive back for the Steelers outside of the first round. It seems as though he can play multiple positions in the defensive backfield like Jalen Ramsey but is younger and quicker.

The problem I am finding with these mocks is that too many WRs go off the board before the Steelers first pick in the third round (and even their first round pick). So I think they will be forced to take a WR at 21, or thereabouts, and get their DT in the 3rd round where The Godfather or Big Citrus will likely be found.

More of what the Steelers will need shall become evident after free agency next week.

Exactly, I was saying the same in another thread. If you pass on a WR in rnd 1, there weren't a lot of good options in rnd 2 (at 53) imo. There are some smaller, faster guys but that doesn't seem like the type MM usually drafts. Every WR drafted in Dallas was 6'1" or taller, if that can be given any credance who knows? I am liking Skyler Bell and need to watch some more of Germie Bernard and Jakobi Lane. Bell is 6' but Bernard 6'1" and Lane is 6'4". Lane seen more as rnd 3 by some sites.

I have cooled on Boston. If I remember correctly he didn’t perform some drills at the combine ? I prefer our round 1 guy to show a competitive nature..

I am really not a fan of Boston myself, just conducting an exercise (without trades) and seeing what happens if...

It is looking to be an awkward draft this year concerning what the Steelers need and what is likely to be available to help fill the biggest holes on the roster.

Might be best to move back in round 1 for Omar Cooper and up in round 2 to guarantee getting a swiss army knife type DB for the defense.

Roman Hemby is a guy I've been watching on IU's replays. I like Mike Washington Jr the best for some of the guys that are attainable but Hemby is #2 for me. I was liking Rashul Faison too out of SC but then learned he'll be a 26yr old rookie, that's second contract age for most players.

Can it be considered a successful draft if a Couga is not drafted? Free agent is good. Drafted is better

DK is #1 at WR. Massive body & big play potential.

I expect a vet WR to be added to play #2.

It's that slot WR role I think is up for grabs for a rookie. KC Conception would fit perfectly.

I expect at LEAST 2 WR's through FA & the first 3 rounds of the draft- maybe more. In fact a 2nd & 3rd round double-dip at WR is on the books, with 12 picks.

Got to keep the QB standing (particularly if it's an old man or young kid). OG or LT are prime picks at #21- could get a real first day starter & help the Offense in both passing & running.

There will be additions on the D, but I'm thinking with the most expensive D in football- might be more 3rd round onwards.

It's currently only 4th most expensive D for 2026. New York Giants hold the honour of most expensive.

Germie Bernard is going to translate extremely well in the NFL. Trust me on that... if take him with one of our 4 top 100 picks.

I'm thinking OL is the bigger need. With the uncertainty at LT and LG I'm moving up to target Kayden Proctor somewhere between the 11th abs 15th picks...

DK is not a true WR1...

then you'll love this...

Left side of the line secure for a long damn time.
CB duo in place with Igbinosun and Peezy Jr
DL massive with Big Citrus to go with Benton, Black and Harmon.
Kilgore can step in at Safety after Ramsey leaves in 2027
Law, Burks, Cameron and Brown will give us a nice young quartet of WRs
Josephs was pimped as being a first rounder before last season started - kinda got lost in the wash
Barton to rotate with Queen and Wilson inside
Hallman on STs until he gets some NFL experience
and two future draft picks

Not sure about the RAS— but my DAS(Dino Athletic Score)… looks like this:

Rutledge
Taylor
Slaughter

Top three.. and I hope we get at least one of those somehow in the draft.

Chase and Farmer interest me in addition to Rutledge…
